Thank you everyone for your comments on my last post! I really appreciate all the feedback and knowledge everyone has been so kind to pass on to me.
To answer some questions and give feedback to everyone's suggestions is the following:
• The strain I am growing are Jedi Mind fucks. It is the only strain I have grown previously so I felt it would be in my best interest to stick to this while I am scaling up as it's what I 'know' the best.
• I have been told by a friend that the best way to introduce FAE was with the fans blasting air through my filters and it had worked with the small monotub previously. However now after seeing your guys suggestions I have changed from 3 fans blasting directing through the filters, to one ocelating fan positioned on the other side of the room for more passive FAE.
• I used millet grain bags and left them to fully colonise before adding them to my CVG. I used a 1:1 ratio for bags of millet and bags of cvg. X2 of each in my bigger tub and x1 of each in the smaller tubs.
• I have also lifted the tubs off the floor to prevent contamination from the carpet which is something I definitely didn't think about before!
I have included a few pictures of my current setup after improvements as well as what my sub is looking like as of today. If anyone has any more advice or thinks they know how to improve my setup/chances of a successful run then I am more than open to hearing suggestions.
Finally, please could you guys take a look at my cake and see if it still looks like I am on the right track or if it's best I start again? I have had some mixed opinions so I'd just like to see what the majority thinks. I am also extremely colour blind so I don't trust my eyes as much as I'd probably trust yours. I know purple/green = bad and white = good. I can see some patches I would say are sort of yellow but I'm not sure if that's just the grain I can see through the mycelium or if it's contamination.
Thank you guys for all your support and feedback. You truly are a great community of people and have made me feel very welcomed and gave me great advice, especially since I never post on any forums ect.
Many thanks and much love!
