I dont believe this fight is as close as this sub thinks

Post image

people on this sub suggest this fight is near even...which i disagree and plenty of fans across social media do too, most polls i see across tiktok yt insta are usually 70 percenr+ biased towards makhachev

ian has good tdd but he hasnt faced a dynamic grappler like islam whos good in the clinch and can get takedowns in the open and against the fence, shavket has a 25 percent takedown rate i think he took down wonderboy once,ONCE,whos known for having bad tdd,ian was also getting clipped by belal in some of those exchanges and getting controlled along the cage

people after the jdm fight literally shat on belal and said jdm was nevee good for struggling against belal yet its fine for ian to have a competitive 3 round fight with belal

Rewatching the khabib v Conor fight and Cruz's commentary is the worst I think I've ever heard. He sounds like someone who's never watched MMA.

"McGregor's trying to tire him" as he's getting his head caved in and "khabib looks tired" as he's in full control.

Could Islam Be Considered The GOAT If He Does All This?

Post image
7 Upvotes

I think at this point 99% of people can agree Islam is top 5, if not, you’d have to admit definitely top 7 at this point in his career. He also is tied with the longest win streak ever in the UFC, 16 consecutive wins.

But if he can beat Ian Gary, only lost to Shavkat who probably would’ve been a champ at this point without injuries. Michael Morales who’s a very scary Rumble Johnson like fighter, and undefeated. And Carlos Prates who’s a KO demon. Would you consider him as the GOAT, or atleast top 3?

Because then he’d have been a 2x champion with 4 defenses at lightweight and 3 at welterweight. Which makes him very active in both weight classes while being at the top for a good amount of time. And makes him have the longest win streak ever in the UFC by 3 fights. With a record 31-1.

He has 28 wins 1 loss, with pretty impressive names like:

JDM; after beating Belal unanimously

Dustin; only lost to Khabib, Charles, and Justin in his last 14 fights

Alexander Volk (2x), my personal Featherweight GOAT

Charles Oliveira; on his impressive title run

Young Arman; who wasn’t near the level he is now (I get maybe not shouting out this win, as he was young)

Just watched this reel of a 1902 book that claimed you could judge a person's character based off their head shape and I came across this really familiar head lol

All of these examples plus his opinions on BSD who he beat makes me think Dustin’s a sore winner. What do you think?

People are underestimating Ian Garry

Post image

Lets be honest, people are really underestimating Ian Garry, or at least slightly underestimating him.

First of all Islam has not faced any opponent like Garry, his height is a massive advantage, then his reach. He has just one loss , that too against Shavkat, and that also wasn’t a finish, went to decision, 48-47. His TTD is really good, although people argue that he has not faced anyone like Islam, but C’mon he has proved his TTD.

After all this i still see islam winning but by a slightly margin, i’d say 55/45 for islam. I would not be surprised if islam gets T/KO’d , he doesn’t have the best chin tbh, but on the other side Garry has not finished any of his opponents in the last 3 years.

A fight not to bet on.

I really hope Islam does win, i want him to break Silva’s record of 16, no one has been that close, and don’t want him to lose after his fabulous career. Let him retire as one the GOATs. Garry is not a like able person, but as a fighter he is one of the best in WW division, surely a next Champion in WW .

Is 55 years old the best base for MMA referee?

Post image

Big John retired at 55 citing inability to protect fighters.

Beltran is 53 basically retired.

There's a 60 something year old everyone hates won't name him for funsies in the post.

I made another post about this, but I think the title and post wasn't as clickbaity, only 50 upvotes.

A potentially really interesting matchup

Post image

With Ben Askren having retired from wrestling, he can come back to MMA, and I think this is a win-win matchup to make- if Ben wins, it would be the greatest comeback in MMA history, but if Carlos wins, Ben could potentially die, and someone catching a body in the UFC is something we've all wanted to see for a while. What do you all think?
