Academic Program 👩🏫 Engineering hygiene & smells
Wait...so the urban legend of engineering majors having bad hygiene is a cross country thing?? I was looking at 5 other university forums and seen jokes post about their engineering students afraid of soap & water, deo and brushing their teeth? lol what is it about that major and beefin' with and bein' deathly afraid of cleaning and smelling good? is it a personality trait or what?

Social I made a thing you can join if you can't find any other clubs to have fun in! Last post of this semester since there are still some of you searching.

General Unpopular opinion: if UCF requires a course for your degree but only has one scheduling option, it should also be (at least partially) virtual
Why are some classes only available past 5pm? Not everyone lives close campus or we have jobs, having only one option is unfair and can delay graduation dates.

Academic Program 👩🏫 In-person TEAS vs. Online, and are Practice Tests A & B harder than the real deal?
Hi guys! I’m about to take my TEAS exam in person soon and I was wondering if it’s actually easier than the online version? I’ve had a few people tell me this, but I wanted to see what others think. I’ve taken my past two attempts online (got a 69 on the first and a 77 on the second).
I’ve also been using ATI practice tests A and B and was wondering if those are generally harder than the actual tests? I scored a 67 on A and a 69 on B, but the weird thing is i’m scoring higher on the practice tests in the sections that I scored lower on in the real exam and vice versa. For example on the real exam I got a 50 on science in the practice I got in the 60s and in reading& math on the real exam I got 90s and on the practice tests i’m getting 70s.
Thank you so much in advance for helping me out! Also, if you have any random tips or advice at all, I would appreciate it more than you know!

General Best days of the week to take classes
Hey guys! I’m a new student and will live off campus. What days do events usually occur on campus? I can only take 2 days per week for classes since I’m 3 hrs away from ucf.
I wanna do in person classes since it’ll be nice to get involved with the clubs and events on campus.
Thanks!

GOOD VIBES 🎉 Take advantage of this school!!
I feel like so many students aren't aware of the health related resources on campus.
The health services building provides so much for its students. You can get x-rays and lab work and consultations are free. I just got my blood drawn today and it was the least painful experience compared to prior bloodwork experiences.
It's very straight foward and the people there really care and don't wanna milk every last penny on you.
CAPS is also a great mental health resource! It's limited due to the amount of students who need it but its there.
Please take advantage!!!
P.S: If you've had both positive and negative experiences with the UCF health services feel free to share, this is just my expereince.

I just registered for two of Chesnut’s classes and do many students drop his classes or not? I’m 4th in line, and I need to know if I should be hopeful or find another class instead

Research 🔎 Need 6 more participations for dissertation study to graduate
I'm a Kinesiology PhD candidate and I need 6 more participants to finish my final dissertation study and graduate on time! The quick notes:
- Paid study ($50 Walmart gift card in your hand at the last visit)
- 5 weeks, only 4 visits, each visit lasts ~30 minutes, all on main campus
- Extremely flexible scheduling (weekends, late nights, early mornings, midday)
- Intervention group drinks 1 chocolate protein shake per day (provided to you), control group does not. No exercise involved at all.
- Both groups wear a watch for the 5 weeks and fill out 3 food logs per week.
- We share whatever data you want with you (sleep, physical activity, blood test via finger prick, body composition, nutrition reports). Data that normally costs $$ to get on yourself.
- Specifically looking for adults 18-40yrs old that don't workout often (<150 min. moderate intensity cardio per week and < 2 weightlifting sessions per week).
If you're at all interested and willing to help a brother out, you can email me at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) or read more about the study here: https://healthprofessions.ucf.edu/research/studies/effects-of-dietary-protein-supplementation-on-bioimpedance-characteristics-and-metabolic-health-markers/

Academic ✏️ Phy2048 at HCC
I’ll be taking phy2048 as a transient student at HCC, and according to ucf portal it is equivalent to phy 2048 studio, do i still need to take phy 2048 lab at hcc because hcc website state as lab section being mandatory
I talked to the registrar, they said lab component is necessary making it 5 credit class (4cr lec snd 1cr lab)
Is it possible for me to only take lecture since ucf accepts it as a studio?

Hey I found something! Who wants about 1,000 tubes of toothpaste?
Anyway I have about 1,000 tubes of toothpaste. I left it outside if knights pantry for someone to take.
Unfortunately knights pantry is closed at the moment, so I wanna make sure this all gets in the right hands asap! If you’re in need, please come pick some up!
Edit: toothpaste looses its quality in heat (but it’ll still be completely safe to use).
Edit p.2: GUYS I ALREADY DONATED IT, IM SORRY IF KNIGHTS PANTRY ISNT GOOD ENOUGH!!!!
If you want to, just take some that I left out and donate it wherever you’d like

Academic ✏️ Transferring into UCF via DirectConnect
Hellooo! I wanted to transfer into UCF for the Fall 2027 semester, but I'm expected to complete only 57 credits by Spring 2027. I was thinking of just taking one last class for the remaining three credits in a Summer A semester, but would that delay my entry into UCF? I'm new to college so I appreciate the help:)

Social Anyone Else Ride a Unicycle?
Surly, with nearly 70,000 people, I can find someone else who also rides a unicycle. To clarify, I'm talking about traditional, pedal power, not an electric unicycle which seems to really more of a fancy Segway.

Rate This Class/Schedule 💯 Economics Students help
Does anyone have any good resources for eco 3101 with David Scrogin? Already took eco 3203 with Aysun and passed. But I keep hearing terrible things about Scrogin even though his RMP rates are high compared to any other Econ professor
