Shoutout Shout out to the library!
Yesterday afternoon, I attended a mending class at Maxwell Park Library. I learned a running stitch, back stitch, and hem stitch. Plus, they provided us with instructions and some basic sewing supplies to take home. I usually take my pants to a tailor to get hemmed, but I am feeling pretty confident after the class. I’m looking forward to fixing a shirt and fixing the hem on a pair of pants myself. The instructor did a fantastic job. AND IT WAS FREE.
After that, I went to a FREE 1-hour yoga class at Central Library. They provided the mats, blocks, strap, and bolster for the class. It was chill and stretched out my tight back. Then I checked out a couple of books that would have cost me like $50 otherwise.
(Please note, I did work in libraries for 15 years, so I am a little biased when I say this. Also sorry for yelling when I write this.) LIBRARIES ARE PRETTY FANTASTIC.
