Question PLEASE HELP - Spotify is randomly removing songs from my Liked Songs

I'm honestly starting to panic.

Between yesterday and today, 3 songs have disappeared from my Liked Songs, and I know for a fact I did not unlike them. This isn't the first time I've had the feeling songs were going missing, but today I actually watched it happen. A song that was liked suddenly wasn't anymore.

My Liked Songs playlist is incredibly important to me. I've spent years building it, and now I'm worried that songs have been disappearing for a long time without me noticing. The worst part is that I have no idea which songs are missing, so I can't even add them back. If this has been happening for months or years, I could have already lost a lot of music forever simply because I don't remember every song I've ever liked.

Is there any way to restore removed liked songs, view a history of songs that were unliked, or find out why this is happening?

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm genuinely worried about losing years of music, and I'd really appreciate any help.

I used AI to fix my grammar mistakes since English is not my first Language.

Rant Podcasts Rant

I recently switched from iPhone to Android, so it made sense to switch from Apple Music to Spotify too. I've found Spotify's music discovery and mixing to be way better than AM. Super happy with the music side.

I'm also a huge podcast and audiobook listener, and the idea of having all my listening needs on one app was super appealing to me.

I am shocked at how poor Spotify's podcast UI is.

  1. Separate Queues: People should be rioting over Spotify not allowing for separate queues for music and podcasts. I constantly have a running queue for podcasts. Every time I start to play music for a workout/run/whatever, I select a music playlist, and one song later, my next podcast starts. Then, not only do I have to skip it, but I have to remember which podcast it was so that I can go back later and play it. I've found posts from four years back bringing this up. Absolutely insane that this is not just an optional setting.
  2. Adding to Queues: If I want to add a song to my queue, I simply swipe right on the song. So simple, love it. How about a podcast? Well, there you have to hit the teeny-tiny three dots (or force touch) to open up a menu of about a dozen options and find the "Add to Queue," which is about 2/3 of the way down. Insane. Just let us swipe right like music.
  3. Your Episodes and the + Button: Legit what is the point of "Your Episodes"? Why is that + button that adds to that playlist the first button under a podcast? Who is saving old podcast episodes so much? I've had to go into that playlist (which is just randomly somewhere in the list of podcasts under the "Your Library" tab) just to clear it out because I accidentally pressed that + button as I scroll through podcasts. And you can't just swipe to clear it out! You have to go through that little three-dot menu again for each one. Maddening.
  4. Incredibly Niche Hardware Issue: I use wired earbuds with in-line controls - the Apple wired headphones, specifically. If I'm listening to a song and want to skip, I can just double-press the middle button on the in-line controls, and it will skip. If I want to go back a song, I can triple-press. What about podcasts? Nope! I can't skip back or forward with the in-line controls of my wired headphones. The controls work perfectly well on my wireless earbuds, though. The in-line controls work with Pocket Casts, too, so it's not the headphones. I see others have had this problem - it has to be something with Android Spotify.

The cumulative effect of these has caused me to go back to Pocket Casts. The gap between Spotify's music and podcast user experience is like the Grand Canyon. The entire value prop of a Spotify subscription is at least cut in half for me due to how much I listen to podcasts and how bad it is, and I can't imagine I'm the only one.

Feature Request Would anyone else love a YouTube-style comment section for songs on Spotify?

Like every time I listen to a deep track or an emotional song on YouTube, one of the best parts is scrolling through the comments. Seeing how other people interpret the lyrics, reading their thoughts, or realizing thousands of others felt the exact same way adds a whole layer of connection to the music.

I know moderation could be a nightmare and some people prefer a clean UI, but what if it was hidden under a expandable tab or users can toggle comments on/off.

Question Switching from spotify to something else

I'm looking for advice on what I should do, I've used spotify for years but I want to switch apps for many reasons, (ai slop, prices, ads, etc...) But I'm not sure what exactly to switch to and I'm wondering if there would be an easier way for me to get all my saved songs from spotify to somewhere else. It'd suck if I had to go artist by artist and manually add their songs again..

I'm also wondering what apps you recommend regardless!! Thanks!!
(I don't use reddit often, sorry if this is not the right place to ask this.)

every single one of the fake artist accounts for the ponies in MLP Gen 4 have each been taken over by artists. These accounts are originally made so that someone can find songs featuring particular characters/voice actors, but almost all of them also have songs from random rappers and other small artists.

Such as "Bananas!!", a brag rap which is also incorrectly credited as being written by Tara Strong.

Shouldn't these artists have to make their own accounts?

My spotify equalizer sounds way different than it used to, and my spotify overall got way quieter. If i have it on full volume now it sounds i have it on half volume (compared to how it used to sound). My shit used to be perfect, loud and bass heavy but now i barely get the same effect i used to have. Anyone else got that problem?

Rant Screenshotting Songs

I find myself on road trips, on my drive to work, or sitting at my desk listening to music. Sometimes I hit the shuffle button and I’ll rediscover songs I used to listen to religiously so I’ll screenshot my lock screen. Anyone else got a pile of music screenshots they never added to playlists?

iOS Spotify's Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI) system playback issues (offline mode downloads)

I am a Spotify Premium user on IOS. I regularly download podcasts to listen in offline mode. About a year ago I noticed I couldn't get certain podcasts to play during offline mode. It would play for a few minutes and then randomly stop. I went through all the usual attempts to fix and nothing worked. All the other podcasts worked fine. Then it would work fine again after getting back online. After talking to customer support it's apparently a known issue with their Dynamic Ad Insertion. To quote the CS agent:

"The root cause is a known, platform-wide conflict between Spotify’s offline player and the show's Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI) system. When you download a podcast, Spotify downloads the base audiofile. However, this podcast author utilizes timed markers that force the app to ping an external server to inject hyper-local, real-time advertisements into the audio track. If you are in offline mode, the episode will play normally for a few minutes until it hits one of these mandatory ad markers. When Spotify attempts to fetch the ad and cannot reach the server, it panics and triggers an unexpected error code, stopping the audio entirely."

The attempted fix from the CS agent is this:

"The platform intentionally requires dynamic ad triggers to fire to track impressions for publishers. Because this podcast author explicitly configures its hosting server to block playback if an ad container fails to load, Spotify's app chooses to halt playback and throw an error code rather than bypass the ad slot. The simplest permanent fix within Spotify is altering the downloaded file size. This forces the app to map ad cues differently. 1. Open Settings and privacy in Spotify. 2. Scroll to Audio Quality and locate Download. 3.Switch it from High or Very High to Standard/Low. 4. Delete your downloaded This American Life episodes, and download them again. The lower bitrate file format often lacks the strict tracking containers that trigger the error code offline."

So, hope this helps someone if anyone else is having this problem like I am.

iOS Spotify still won't reliably notify me when artists I follow release new singles / albums

I follow around 100 artists on Spotify, and the new release notifications are... inconsistent, to put it kindly.
Some drops trigger a push, others just quietly appear in Release Radar days later, and a few I only find out about when I stumble onto the album myself. There's no way I can see, at a glance, what's actually coming up next from artists I follow. It's either the notification lottery or manually checking each artist's page.

Is this just me? Or has anyone found a workaround inside Spotify itself that actually fixes this?

I ended up solving it for myself initially: built a small app called MusicDrops that pulls your followed artists and gives you an actual timeline: what's dropped recently, what's confirmed upcoming, with reliable push notifications instead of whatever Spotify's algorithm decides to surface.
Not trying to turn this into an ad, genuinely more interested in whether others have hit the same wall, or what you'd like to have Spotify add/fix. But I'm happy to share more if it's useful.

Question Specific Songs causing Bluetooth Earbuds to Disconnect upon Playing them

So I was just going through random songs, and a specific song came up which just caused my Samsung S26 Phone to Disconnect from my Sony WF-C710N earbuds. It only happened while I was playing it on a Phone. Also, even if I tried to reconnect my earbuds, it caused an instant disconnection.

Everything works fine the moment I move on to any other song. I tried closing Spotify, force stopping, reinstalling and even clearing Data and Cache but the issue pops up over the same song every time. Has this issue happened with anyone else? I haven't seen anyone really talk about it.

This issue doesn't happen over my Laptop whilst using the same earbuds by the way.

(Just for info sake, yes I have Spotify Premium and yes, I was logged in to the same account on both my Phone and my Laptop. Not sure if this matters though. Also I was only connected to one device while playing this song.)

Rant Why is family listening so overly complicated…

I just want to be able to listen in my shop on my bt speaker while my wife and kids listen on the Alexa. I changed my plan to duo and it made her make an entirely new account, lost all the kids playlists, and Alexa won’t allow 2 accounts on one unit with making yet another new account. Why not just allow multiple profiles and let each listen separately? Am I doing something wrong here?

Question I Keep Getting Opposite Answers While Researching This And It's Driving Me Crazy

So what I want to know is, let's say I download a playlist with very high quality (because lossless takes up a crap ton of storage) and set streaming to lossless. If I am listening to music on wifi or cell data, will it automatically switch to the lossless quality streaming, or stay on the very high quality downloads?

Question One song plays then no other song

whether I’m using Spotify on pc or iOS it holds true; I have shuffle on and it won’t play another recommended song.

I was able to do it a few months back. I’d choose whatever song with shuffle on and a random recommended song would play. Really convenient for finding new music tbh but now it just stops.

I don’t believe this is a premium feature

Question Random Device on My Account

A couple days ago, I got some emails saying that someone logged into my account. When I got on, I see there’s this device I don’t recognize playing music. I’ve tried changing my email address, password, logging in and out of all devices I currently use, etc., but every time I do so, I keep seeing this device show up. What should I do now?

Spotify Web. When I go to an artist I can no longer see the top 10 tracks. Is it just me or this is for everyone?
