Apartments owned by Eucalyptus LLC - Moving
What was your experience moving out of an apartment owned by Eucalyptus LLC? We got charged an astronomical amount for “damages & cleaning fees”. Any advice?

Hi! I’m possibly relocating to Topeka after accepting an entry level job that pays 18/hr in my desired field. I’m looking for either a studio or one bedroom apartment in a safer area of town, that won’t run me too much for rent (1k/month budget) I wanted to see what suggestions people have, and if y’all think 18/hr is a livable wage in Topeka!
I’d prefer to live solo, and don’t need much room, which is why I’ve been considering studios. I’ve been doing research and some reviews have been pretty scary, so I want to see what y’all think!

I’ll lead with ✨ We’ll Pickup ✨
My little is just a begging for a water table. We saw one at KC Legends Toys R Us, I said we’d buy one at home- local yokel and all. My final option is to buy one at the Toy Store (our fave) but really we’re so late in the season I was wondering if anyone had one they’re sick of looking at. Your kids outgrew? It’s kinda broken? I don’t care. I’m trying to focus on Reduce from the ‘Reduce Renew Recycle’ but I don’t think I can get out of this one. I’d love to Recycle if I can. 💕💕💕 TIA!

I was doing a deep dive on FOE (the airport in the south) and saw they operated flights on United to Chicago in the early 2010s, i was wondering if this was common or if that ment people did it or just if anyone remember it
Sorry for such a random question I’m just doing some stuff with Topeka airport in a game and also interested in my home airport but I wasn’t in Topeka in 2014.
I think that’s the only flights Topeka ever got but feel free to let me know if not

The Topeka Tenants have created a petition that supports the landlord registry proposal drafted by the city. This proposal will go before the city council on July 21st, and needs public support. Local landlords have already organized against the proposal.
The city has continuously struggled with slumlords and not having landlord contact information when a safety crisis happens. This would be a step towards allowing the City to protect tenants in Topeka. Lawrence, Kansas City, and Wichita have already implemented similar landlord registries.
Please consider signing

I’ve never had a tattoo and I’m 62. I decided I want one but I really want it to be good if I’m getting one. I want the hands from Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam, on my forearm. Who’s really good at recreating famous art?

Hi, I'm a 23yo grad student starting at Washburn Law in August! My roommate situation fell through so I'm looking for a girl or a couple girls to live with this coming year, if you know anyone or looking, I'd love to chat!

What are your favorites?
It can be for any reason: quality, atmosphere, value, whatever. Which places are the best, and why?
I'll start with a non-exclusive list:
Mexican Taco Shop: fast, tasty, affordable, +salsa bar!
Tuptim Thai: amazing food, huge portions, nice atmosphere
Louie's on 10th: better than bar food, affordable, wash your comforter while eating a bierock

Nextdoor banned me for asking this question so I guess I'll have to ask it here. Can anyone help me unload a washer and dryer into my home? The basement is a half flight of carpeted stairs, no landing. It would be sometime in the next 2 weeks. I can give more info to anyone who reaches out. Thank you

Hi all! I just closed on a house Tuesday and I'm a first time home buyer so new city, new home for me. I want to start tending to my yard and I have quite a few tree limbs that need disposing of. Can anyone tell me how tree limb disposal works in Topeka? Do I cut them short and leave them bundled on the curb? Do I take them somewhere? Should I make a burn pile instead? Most aren't thick but I have 3 mature trees in my backyard so I'm sure the sizes of limbs will vary. The waste company I have is Shawnee County. Thanks!

What is the best way to deal with bed bugs in an apartment here? We are pretty sure we have them, although we cannot find any. Just want to be aware of state laws in case they try to say that we brought them in.

Does anyone living at Fontainebleau apartments by Hayden deal with bed bugs?

Has anyone seen the new art piece on the side of Swims & Sweeps? I couldn't get a picture of it while driving by. It's a larger version of the "Comedian" or the banana and ducktape.

Daughter just moved to Topeka. I’m concerned about the snow, as she has no experience with driving or living where it snows.
How bad does it get? Any suggestions regarding safety? Is it true that sometimes she may not be able to get to her house after work, or get to work in the morning due to the snow?
Also, are there frequent tornadoes and how alert does she need to be, what can she do given that she’ll be living in an apartment complex with no basement?
EDIT: Thank you all for your replies. All were informative, and some were even entertaining.

Has anyone attended one of the Board Game Bash’s at the library? They sound great but wasn’t sure how many people attend and what kind of games are played. Just wanted a little more info before I go to one. Thanks.

I was really hoping to remake one of them as I loved doing those races, but they have been impossible to find even a shred of their existence on the internet.

Haven't seen anyone there lately. Anyone got the scoop?

On 37th? I haven’t been there in years and was wondering if the food was still good.
