Chaplain in Terminator Armour (75pts)

Librarian (60pts)

5x Intercessor Squad (80pts)

5x Assault Intercessors with Jump Packs (85pts)

Misc. Lion is barely more than a norn emissary....

And still completely useless.

He will be useless until he is something more than, "a decent beat stick with fights first (a useless ability)."

The rest of the buffs we got are awesome, though! I almost wanna buy ravenwing models, but I'm fairly certain the refresh is coming this edition, so I'm gonna hold out for that.

Army List How do I upgrade my 500 point list to 1000pts?

Currently the list is:

Scout squad x5

Internus squad x5

Terminator squad x5

Captain in terminator armour

Primaris eradicators X3

I'm very new to 40k so don't really know what's good so I'm after any and all advice for army building. Ideally I'd like to run some dark angel specific units like the lion but I don't know how feasible that is in 1000pts

Army List 1000 Points Dark Angels

Hi everyone,

I have a question. I'm fairly new to Warhammer 40,000, but I've already played several Combat Patrol games and now I'd like to expand my Dark Angels army to 1,000 points.

At the moment, I own the following models from the Combat Patrol:

Captain in Gravis Armour
10 Intercessors
5 Hellblasters
3 Bladeguard Veterans

This is the list I'm currently thinking about:

Azrael
Captain in Gravis Armour
Intercessor Squad (5 models)
Bladeguard Veteran Squad (3 models)
Deathwing Knights (5 models)
Gladiator Lancer (or alternatively a Ballistus Dreadnought)
Hellblaster Squad (5 models)
Inner Circle Companions (3 models)

What do you think about this list? Would you change anything, or is there anything that just doesn't work? Since I'm still new, I'd really appreciate any advice or suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Gameplay Best Detachments to combine with Lion's Blade Task Force for Purge the Foe?

With the new rules update, the only Purge the Foe Detachments the Dark Angels have access to are Lion's Blade Task Force and 1st Company Task Force. 1st Company Task Force is renowned as quite possibly the weakest Detachment Space Marines have access to, so it's not much of an option.

What do people think of Lion's Blade Task Force, though? Its Detachment rule is pretty situational, but it's 2 DP so you can combine it with a lot of other Detachments with varying degrees of synergy.

Librarius Conclave and Vengeful Hosts both buff certain Deathwing units, Fulguris Task Force and Darkflight Pursuit both buff Ravenwing speeders, and Dark Age Arsenal and Interrogation Conclave have the potential to buff both Deathwing and Ravenwing. The only 1 DP Detachment that doesn't synergise with it to some extent is Subversion Assets.

What are people's thoughts about the best Detachment to combine with it?

Finally got the time to go and paint my Dark Angels! Started with some intercessors, next I’ll probably do a dreadnought as a treat/break from doing many small units.

Looks like Command Squad will stay and not go to legends and it also went from leader to support interesting.

Hey! I just started my Dark Angel this is my 4th attempt for my Hellblaster and I still I'll stick with that kind of "Grimdark" style. This is my first Space Marine army I usually paint guard so I'm looking for some feeback on things to improve ( I suck at bases I'll probably redo them at some point)

Seeing that Ravenwing Command Squad drops in point and are moved to being support i feel that Company of Hunters are insane powerful.

2x Chaplain, RWCmd, 6 Black Knights

1xSamael, RWCmd, 6 Black Knight

At rapid fire, thats almost 90 plasma shot (most at devW) and over 90 attack (most with +1 to wound) and movement to deliver it. Currently trying it out against Sisters.

Gameplay Lion's Blade Thoughts...

Post image

So I had a little realization yesterday. The second ability of In the Lion's Claws seems pretty decent. Opens up the avenue for Deep Striking DWKs, and then charging on a 7+. But you know what else has the Deathwing keyword and absolutely *loves* charging? Brutalis Dreadnoughts.

Gameplay ICC

Looks like ICC no longer need a leader to get their ability. I will probably still run them with Azzy, but it’s an interesting change nonetheless.

Edit- spelling

Gameplay The Lion Rules Update

Brothers!
What are we thinking about the update to The Lion’s forest walk ability?

Doesn’t seem right that you pick it in your command phase and have to wait until your opponents command phase to pick him up.
Also contradicts itself by explicitly saying that you can make an ingress move turn one.

Can he deep strike turn 1 if you start the game in reserves now ? What are your thoughts??

With his new points cut I definitely want to be running him but I feel like I don’t understand when I’d use his uppy downy now with these changes.

Gameplay Maybe it's obvious, but does the ICC Brazier ability no longer require a character

Upvotes

As title, I've not seen it specifically mentioned but maybe it's really obvious to more experienced players or something. Does the update fully overwrite the previous version of the rule that called for a character to be with the unit?

I've not got around to playing 11th yet but I gather that besides the above, the ability works as before, except the -1 to hit with ranged weapon comes by way of a BS modifier from Stealth's Benefit of Cover, meaning it no longer stacks with actual cover?

Gameplay Balance Datasheet - Ravenwing Command Squad

In the 40k Faction Pack (Dark Angels) on Warhammer Community it states the following:

Ravenwing Command Squad, Keywords Section Remove ‘Leader’, add ‘Support’.

However, when looking at the Munitorum Field Manual, it still has them listed as "Leader".

In the 40k app, when you assign them, you cannot set them as support (only leader). I am wondering if this is an oversight or an error in the Faction Pack.

Need to go back and clean up some flash I missed during assembly, but I took a spare BGV body and combined some spare Sternguard, ICC, and Intercessor bits (plus a spare DW Shoulder) and made my own Azrael proxy to be more authentic to my chapter
