Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some advice because this is a big purchase for me, and I really want to make the right decision.
I've narrowed it down to these four scooters:
- Honda ADV350
- Yamaha XMAX Tech Max
- Honda Forza 350
- Zontes 368G
My riding will probably be:
- 70% daily commuting and city traffic
- 30% weekend trips and touring (a few hundred kilometers at a time)
The problem is that I've researched these scooters so much that I've reached the point where I can find reasons both to buy and not to buy every single one.
Here's how I currently see them:
Honda ADV350 - It seems like the scooter that would give me the best riding experience overall. I like the adventure styling, the suspension, and the comfort on rough roads. The only downside for me is that it doesn't feel quite as premium or luxurious as the XMAX or Forza. And since I want to use it for every day as well I feel like it might be too big for me...
Yamaha XMAX Tech Max – This feels like the "iPhone" of scooters. Everyone knows it's a great bike, it looks premium, and the fuel economy is excellent. But at the same time, the design has barely changed over the years, so unless you're a scooter enthusiast, most people just see "another XMAX." I also wonder if it lacks a bit of character compared to the ADV.
Honda Forza 350 – This seems like the perfect middle ground. It's comfortable, refined, and premium, but it also feels physically bigger than the other two. Since most of my riding is in city traffic, I'm worried it could become more of a hassle than an advantage.
Zontes 368G – On paper, this looks incredible. More power, more features, and honestly one of the best-looking scooters in the segment. But it's also the one I have the least confidence in. I'm concerned about long-term reliability, resale value, and parts availability. I've read stories about people waiting months for replacement parts, and that worries me when I'm spending this much money.
The funny thing is that I've done so much research that I almost can't be happy with any of them anymore. There's always another review, another opinion, or another reason to second-guess myself.
I'm not looking for the fastest scooter. All of them are capable of highway speeds, and that's enough for me. What I really want is something that's enjoyable to ride, comfortable for longer trips, reliable, practical for everyday use, and still feels special every time I walk up to it. I also care about having a scooter with some presence—something that feels premium and makes me proud to own it.
This isn't just a practical purchase it's also an emotional one. Spending this much is a significant investment for me.
Originally, I wanted a BMW C400 because I love the premium feel and the brand, but it's almost twice the price, so it's hard to justify. In my mind, the only real step above these scooters would be something like an X-ADV or a Forza 750, but those are also in a completely different price bracket.
So I'm curious what you would do if you were in my position.
- Which one would you buy today, and why?
- Is the Zontes 368G actually as good as the specs suggest, or are Honda and Yamaha still worth paying extra for?
- Between the ADV350, XMAX Tech Max, and Forza 350, which one offers the best balance of commuting, weekend touring, comfort, reliability, and overall ownership?
- If you were in my shoes, would you buy one of these now or keep saving for an X-ADV or Forza 750 a few years down the road?
I'd especially love to hear from people who have actually owned or ridden these scooters, particularly anyone who's used them for touring around Thailand.
Thanks in advance! I really appreciate any advice.
