two sessions, 10 hours total under the needle. my second tattoo. this was my sons prosthetic cover for his leg. super happy with the results. some minor issues I can see, but a lot of involuntary reflexes kicked in and I’ll take the blame for any lines out of whack

my pics are 4 days after the last session

edit: a few expected comments on the line work, and I’m not going to comment on those. My son passed away 10 years ago and been planning this for the last 5. The artist looked and studied the original before almost every time he put the needle on me. and maybe I put too much into that’s, but he did everything he could to represent the request I made . I have no regrets.

I love tattooing hands! My pieces always come with a touch up because hands can be super tricky to heal 💗

Discussion Is 3 hours at a time unreasonable for a back piece?

TLDR @ bottom is main problem I guess

I’m tatted wrist to pecs inside and out. Just went for my American trad back piece outline which took about 4 hours.

The problem is this hurt like a mfer. I’ve had spicy parts on my ditch and inner wrist but towards the last hour it felt like I was gritting through every pulled line (I did drink the night before)

Now that my outline is done and based on the pain level, I’m trying to gauge how to schedule the shading. For me, the shading is usually a lot more chill. But I want to do 3 hours to know I can sit for it

Is this annoying/problematic for artists?

TLDR : is 3 hour @ a time session weak? I see people sitting for 8-10 hours
