Think about it, in episode 5 it's when Jax taking most of the screen time of the episode where it was meant to be Ragatha's, so Goose basically turned "The Amazing Digital Circus" into "Jax and friends" and got a whole ass movie about it (not really).

Jax taking up all screen time from 5-9, meaning that we never got explore more about the Circus, Digital Carnival, etc.

Jax: "It's my movie, my movie, my super hero movie, it's all about me, yeah, it's all about me yeah."

What are your opinions through out the series?

Right now, The Last Act sits at 187k watches on Letterboxd right now. Letterboxd being a movie website that lets you log movies.

I'm looking to help pump those numbers up?

Why? Well, it's basically for dumb, selfish and completely arbitrary reasons that have no effect on anything or anyone. So really, I have no reason to ask people to do this besides "for myself."

How did you guys manage to have a TADC subreddit that does not have majority freaks (saying as a TADC fan) like I know in the rules it says no nsfw stuff but I would still accept to see way more but I've only found in appropriate piece of media. Let me just prephice this by saying I have absolutely nothing wrong with the transgender community.

Jax being trans is something that many people did not see coming, and if you did, you’d be out of the ordinary and the minority.

There was no hints or anything showing that she might transition. If gooseworks were to hint or something, it would be all peachy. The thing is that she started doing that like in the last 5-10 minutes of his screen time. The last 30 minutes of the show.

It’s like the Brian griffin thing, you start a story by dragging it along, with a calm premise and plot. Then, in the last two sentences, you come up with a murder, horror movie concept.

Yeah.

It's been a little over a month since the finale released and i've been thinking about how abstractions are caused.

I mean, yeah, we believe it's kinda a metaphor for death, but since they are brain scans and not actually alive they can't be truly dead either.

Im going to be assuming the scans are simple 2D photos since we don't know just how far C&A got with their tech.

If Scratch's abstraction was from Caine messing with his brain, I'm thinking:

- we know Caine is a generative AI model, so, what if he tried to "remove" the tumor from Scratch's brain scan? Like, he tried generating a new piece of a brain photo to replace the spot where the tumor would be in Scratch's scan. And so, by damaging the scan itself, Scratch abstracted.

This makes me believe that abstraction is actually the scan getting damaged one way or another.

And so, we can have multiple things be true:

- Caine can messes with their brains -> abstraction

- suicide -> abstraction (although, the cast would need more control upon their own minds then we know they currently have)

- insanity -> abstraction (the mind file gets so messy that it just scrambles itself?)

So, like, the moment the scan isn't who it was anymore, the character abstracts since they aren't them anymore?

Im still trying to polish this theory, but i need some opinions! :)

Edit: People I'm not saying this should happen, I'm just saying it WILL. God.

Like most of you I found this to be a very beautiful show. But I've watched enough things that were considered 'beloved' to suddenly be considered problematic, and I can already see two things that viewers in the future will get angry about:

1: Having a white woman voice a POC. I'm talking about Gangle being canonically poc, who we SEE is poc when we see the Zoey Raghavan play her, while being voiced by Marissa Lenti. One day Goose is going to wake up and see the discourse about this and she will be like "aww fuck I should have seen that coming." Which is very surprising that no one at glitch saw this coming, but oh well.

2: Jax's maid outfit. This is something that some people have pointed out, and as trans people become more and more accepted in society (which will happen no matter what any administration tries to do) I think that more and more of them will come to see this as problematic. The problem here is two fold:

i) That zooble would realize that Jax is a closeted trans woman, and use this as a way to attack her. The argument is, in a very short way, "If Jax is cis then using their gender and self-image to attack them is fine, but if they are trans then it is abhorrent. Zooble's actions suddenly become very gross."

Which by the way I don't by this myself. Jax was horrible to the people around her. If you're a bully and your victims use something related to your marginalization to hurt you that's just what you deserve. Bullies and abusers deserve no mercy. But I know that I've a very different view of right and wrong to most people. Most of the viewer ship will consider this a poorly thought out and problematic moment.

ii) The other issue is with Glitch selling merchandise of Jax being humiliated in her maid outfit. As this will be seen as Glitch endorsing this of mocking of trans people.

I just can't believe anyone in the circus is actually going to be happy in the long run. Sure, they've accepted their situation and learned how to make the best of it, but that's only because they don't really have another choice. Right now they still have adventures, DnD, and Caine coming up with new things to do, but even that has to get old after a few months with nothing else to do.

They're trapped there for hundreds, maybe even thousands, of years with the same six people. After a few years you've done every adventure, had every conversation, played every game, and heard every joke a thousand times. I don't care how optimistic you are, eventually the boredom alone would drive anyone insane.

The ending wants to feel hopeful, but to me it just delays the inevitable. I can't imagine an existence like that ending any other way than with everyone eventually abstracting. Even if it takes years, infinite time means they'll reach that breaking point sooner or later.

And I think it'd happen much sooner than most people think. In a world with no sleep, no hunger, no real responsibilities, and no way to truly change your life, every distraction would eventually lose its appeal. Once you've gone on your thousandth adventure, played every game imaginable, and had every conversation a hundred times over, what do you have left?

This posture is genuinely the worst out of everyone in the TADC universe

If you somehow don’t know, “Don’t Turn On The Light” is a music video bye BlackGryph0n that focuses on the backstory of Kinger, and actually has his original voice actor. Over all, at least from what I had heard, people were saying that this was just another cringe new tadc fan song, which honestly is valid when you listen to the chorus, but it’s definitely no ”Jax’s Requiem“. Still, I decided to not listen to it, believing what the internet had told me. However, just recently I finally decided listen to it, expecting the worst… AND BOY DID THAT SONG HIT ME HARD. Not only is the song other than the chorus absolute cinema, but I could kind of relate, which made it so much better. Now, I don’t have dementia. I’m way too young for that. But I do struggle with something called absent seizures, and I struggle with remembering things sometimes. Btw, I’m about to rant about my seizures and stuff so if you’re not interested in that or just wanna skip to the part where I talk about my opinion on the song, I totally get it. I’ve put a big all caps title down there for when I actually start talking about it. If you don’t know what an absent seizure is, you should look it up but in simple terms it’s basically when you have a staring spot, but you can’t remember anything during that little episode. For some people it’s different. For some people it lasts a second, for others a whole minute. For me I’ve had to deal with it for several years and how it effects me has changed over time and thankfully, with medical help, we‘re working on getting rid of it. It has also come with some side effects over the years like migraines and, like I said before, forgetfulness, but that’s been more rare over time. What use to be excruciating migraines every two weeks is now a slight headache every month or so. Last thing about me, I swear I’ll get to the actual song after this. So although the seizures have now gotten so unnoticeable that my mom hasn’t been able to point them out for like two or three years, the doctors need to not be able to detect a single seizure for a whole 24 hour period in order for me to drive. And I’m turning 16!! Now although they aren’t noticeable to us, they apparently are very noticeable to the doctors’ magical seizure detecting machine!🫪 So yea. Not driving any time soon. But hopefully this now almost 9 year journey of suffering will come to an end. Btw if you read all this, you are so awesome, thank you for taking the time to listen to me yap! Anyway, back to the song.

While, yes, the chorus was kinda mid, I actually didn’t mind it too much and every other part of the song is so peak! Especially the end. Not only did it sound good, but the animation was cinema! It looked exactly like the show and I think how the story telling was shown through the animation was perfect! Scratch’s abstraction was done super well And the circus turning into the butterflies part??? Why doesn’t anyone talk about that part?!? Overall this is such an underrated AND overhated song!

As a programmer, I found TADC really fascinating and I can't stop thinking about abstraction, how it works, and how they could return to normal. After thinking about it for a while, I came to the conclusion that it's impossible. Basically, they are a kind of save file that evolves as they live in the circus, until they reach the point of corruption.

So, following that logic, the only way to recover the file would be by restoring it from a checkpoint. From what we've seen in the episodes, I dare assume that the only checkpoint that exists is the initial one. Therefore, basically, they can't go back, and if they did, it would be as if they had just entered the circus, all their experiences and memories would be lost, and they'd have to start all over again.

I'd love to know your thoughts on this, and also whether you think Caine knows he can do that, but isn't willing to make them go through all of it again?
