Hey guys,
I am the EIC of RelyOnHorror.com. I had the random idea to pitch our new Discord to the mod team here as an official server for this subreddit, and they were all up for it! So, if you look at the subreddit home, you will now see a direct link to our Discord server -- where you'll be able to talk about the genre with fellow fans. We'll hold general and spoiler discussions, the occasional giveaway and let you know when new content from us has (or will) drop.
Thanks to the mods for the love. Happy to offer a Discord community for you all as fellow fans of the survival horror genre. Here's the Discord link: https://discord.gg/fXCKMer.
Quick background on Rely on Horror - we're a horror gaming site that originally began as REHorror.net. I joined after closing my own horror gaming site, HellDescent.com. We post news, reviews, articles, previews, videos, etc. Happy to chime in if you're curious about the site or Discord. Thanks!

One of the core mechanics in The Infected Soul is body swapping.
Different bodies unlock different ways to explore, solve puzzles, and survive.
Yes... you can even become a cat. 🐈
This is an early prototype, so we'd love to hear your thoughts. What kind of bodies or abilities would you like to see?

Hi all,
We just announced our first project through IGN. Our goal is simple: to create something truly disturbing, intense and terrifying. We want the player to feel constantly on edge, not only because of jumpscares, but through the atmosphere, sound, story and the feeling that something is always wrong.
Don’t worry tho, there will be jumpscares too, strong and creative ones, not cheap scares thrown in for no reason.
If you like what you see, please support us by wishlisting the game and let us know what you think: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4538140/Rehaunted/
We’re here to talk, listen and improve, every comment and piece of feedback is welcome.

Hey everyone, like a lot of you, I've spent countless hours wandering the empty streets and rusted corridors of the early games, completely mesmerized by the psychological weight of Akira Yamaoka's soundscapes.
Lately, I wanted to see if I could capture that specific brand of industrial melancholy and isolation. I put together a piece that leans heavily into that classic PS1/PS2 horror aesthetic—lots of tape hiss, melancholic chords, and heavy, unsettling atmosphere.
If anyone is looking for some background noise for late-night rumination or just wants to zone out to some nostalgia, you can listen to it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QlU3gkIMNyw
I'd love to know how well it captures that vibe for you, or what your all-time favorite track from the series is.

I like to immerse myself as much as possible. Only at night, all lights out. I can’t enjoy a good survival horror during daytime.

Not your favorite game. Not a game that already exists. What's the feeling or experience you wish someone would make?
I'll be curious to see if certain themes keep appearing across everyone's answers.

Hey all! Hope you are all well. Wanted to share some new clips here of my horror survival game called WHERE DOLLS HANG.
The game is inspired by a real-life location, that takes place in Mexico. You play as a detective and players will investigate by marking clues, handling bodies, and surviving on a boat while navigating wetlands and forests filled with hanging dolls.
Still very early but It's a survival-horror game mixed in with paranormal stuff. Think of something like The Forest, Outlast, P.T and Silent Hill combined basically!
I’m aiming for slow, unsettling dread rather than constant jump scares for this one. From this clip, does the atmosphere feel creepy? Let me know!
Steam Link if you like to check it out: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4581370/Where_Dolls_Hang - Would mean the world to me if you can share your thoughts and let me know what you think :)

I’m one of the developers of Backseat. It’s a psychological horror game where you play as a taxi driver who has to pick up dangerous passengers at night.
The core idea is this: your wife has been kidnapped, and to get her back, you have to follow the instructions of someone called BK26. During each ride, a different stranger gets into the backseat. Killers, thieves, scammers, unstable people and you need to stay alert, pay attention to what happens inside the taxi, and survive the night.
I recently opened a Steam Playtest, and I’m especially looking for feedback from players who enjoy survival horror games.
I’d especially like to know:
Does the tension work, or does the pacing feel too slow?
Do the passengers feel threatening enough?
Does being trapped in a taxi with a dangerous stranger create enough fear?
Does the game feel like survival horror, or does it lean more toward psychological thriller/simulator?
What would you change to make the rides scarier or more intense?
Thanks in advance to everyone who tries it. Even a short piece of feedback would mean a lot to me.
