Sunless Sea Art
Hi all, I normally do architectural rendering, but I have wanted to do an image like this for a while now. Apologies if this is posted in the wrong place, this is my first Reddit post ever.

If we could ever go to the roof how would it work?
The following is from someone that hasn't even started flying in Fallen London yet.
unlocking the roof would require a huge quest, about as long an expensive as getting the impeller
like with the zub every future captain will have it unlocked
You can only go up there is certain places - Gaider's Mourn, Mount Palmerston, visage, the Chelonate, you have to the play for lineage long unlock for each one.
You go to brand new map
We copy a lot of the ports from the firmament fallen london stories and add a few new ones
You have to manage air pressure, damage, events in port and simply time will lower it. If it reaches 0 you fall to the sea, survival is unlikely and expensive, you can end up anywhere with the a terrible Steam Launch
The airship as seperate set of vehicles.
More place to put Blemmigans.
There be a another Barnet.

Sunless Sea: Rewritten - The Heroes and Villains Update
SAIL A NEW ZEE. KILL THE GODS. FIND THE TRUTH.
An ambitious total conversion mod, we bring you a Victorian adventure set in a universe parallel to the cosmos of Sunless Sea and Sunless Skies. Hundreds of new stories, 45 new ports, and 30 new officers and mascots. Over 100,000 words of new content. With new art, music tracks, factions, ships, weapons, and items, Sunless Sea: Rewritten offers you a new world to explore, discover, and survive.
The Heroes and Villains Update concludes the last of the Officer storylines, and adds quests to two major ports. I considered titling this update the Penultimate Update, but I can't guarantee that the next one will be 1.0. Still, it's close! With this update, there are only 6 assorted things to do before the mod is content-complete! 1.0 this year. That's a promise from me to you.
As always, if you want to play the demo, offer your services, or just follow the progress of this project, join our Discord server: https://discord.gg/yuVqbyk. We're always on the lookout for new artists, playtesters, and programmers to help us make this mod the best it can possibly be. You can also download the mod directly here: https://enneagon.itch.io/sunless-sea-rewritten
I'm Nine, and thank you for joining me and my delicious friends on this adventure.

Well, is hunting viable in this SS then?
I asked in the Sunless Skies sub if hunting was viable as a money grinding strat, and the answer was yes. But in this game, you're unlikely to get more than 25 echoes per kill. So...is a tradeless run viable, with no money farming strats beyond hunting? And yes that includes the Salt Lions. If so, who should I be hunting?

I have a couple of questions.
1) Where can I find and how do I farm Lorn-Flukes? I saw a post where someone got 22 secrets in 10 15 min from farming Lorn-Flukes.
2) Can I progress both the Immortality and the Aestival ambitions simultaneously without getting locked out of one or the other? I am on merciful mode and want to see both endings.
3) When doing the Empire of Hands storyline I read somewhere that you will "fuck over London". Will I be unable to turn in port reports and will I loose access to the Dark-Spectacled Admiral if I pregress the storyline?
4) Are legacy items universal unlocks that work on any new character or just on the ones from the lineage that unlocked them?

RELEASED: Mr Eaten's Many Things - A comprehensive QoL + cheat menu for Sunless Sea! Adds an ITEM BANK to London, time acceleration keybinds, quick-gain Something Awaits You keybind, freely editing character/ship/menaces, menace rate modifiers (easier OR harder!), spawn any item, and more!
It's here! https://www.nexusmods.com/sunlesssea/mods/62
UPDATE: Now with a config that lets you switch off and hide any of its features individually! It's the rightmost panel in the menu!
Mr Eaten's Many Things is a quality-of-life and cheat panel for Sunless Sea, featuring:
- A persistent port bank! Visit it in London, or access it anywhere from the cheat menu!
- Keybindable time acceleration--separate toggle and hold binds! This accelerates the whole world, not just your ship--enemies, menaces, fuel--all sped up together, in case fair play still matters to you!
- Keybindable "give me Something Awaits You!"
- Spawn any number of any item!
- Preview storylet Terror outcomes!
- Disable explosions!
- Terror/Hunger/Fuel/Hull rate gain/loss options--make the game easier OR harder!
- Free stat/menace/echo/crew/wound editing!
- Freeform ship editing--install gear you don't have into slots your ship doesn't have!
- Freeform officer recruitment! Note that this may cause problems with officer-related storylets--I have no idea, let me know if it does and I'll remove the feature, probably!
Install and usage instructions are on NexusMods, but in short: Extract the zip to your install folder, then check the ESC menu in-game!

MOD IN DEV: Mr Eaten's Many Things - A QoL-and-cheats menu for Sunless Sea! Soliciting suggestions as to what it should control and enable - right now it provides customizable hold-or-toggle time acceleration and terror/hunger/fuel consumption switches. But it can do anything! What's needed?
UPDATE: First release is here! https://www.nexusmods.com/sunlesssea/mods/62?tab=files
includes a bottomless ITEM BANK you can access from any port (or directly from the cheat menu), along with time acceleration and every obvious cheat feature you could want!
back to the original post:
hey!
I'm a Fallen London player from way WAY back, but never played thaaat much Sunless Sea. But I've been modding the shit out of everything I can touch the past few months, and reddit served me a post this afternoon where someone mentioned SS could badly do with some QoL mods.
and that's me! the QoL mod guy! so I threw together a proof-of-concept QoL-and-cheats menu, seen above--Mr Eaten's Many Things. Right now it only controls menace gain and fuel, and offers CheatEngine-style time acceleration with toggle and hold keybinds--but there's no real limit with what we could achieve.
so I ask the community: what would you like to see done? a stat editing panel would be a trivial next add, but I want to get more ambitious, too. how can we parameterize and rebalance SS to make it more fun to play?

A Completed Playthrough That You Don't Want to End.. (SPOILERS) Spoiler
Posting this to see what other captains think about this and hear if they've been in the same position. I have fulfilled my ambition on my second main playthrough. I'm in London with my father's bones. It took me so long to figure wtf to do that I have grown wealthy and powerful. Just yesterday on a whim, I was able to finish the fuller impeller quest for the first time and now I can zip through the Zee! I don't want to quit anymore as the thought of losing said engine and resetting all my stat points which are now almost all over 100 sounds terrible. At least not before I put it to great use. So I think, maybe I should end this one with a more involved ambition.
However, redoing the Father's Bones ambition later doesn't sound great either since the whole fun was figuring out how to get the King's requests. So I thought...so what? I don't click the button to finish, what do I miss out on? Is there an achievement my next captain would receive?
My first captain wrote the Zong of the Zee. As dumb as it is, I admit I love seeing the "signed copy first edition" in my hold..
What would you do? Stick around or end it?

Do the ships in SS have real life analogies?
Would anyone here happen to be familiar enough with old steamships to say what each of the ships, or at least the starter ship is analogous to in real life? I'm trying to do some research but the sense of scale and size for the ships can be a little hard to judge at times so having a real life example to look at would help heh.

Mount Nomad got me
I refuse to not play this game as a roguelike.
It's fine. This next run, I'll romance the golem pirate lady and try a little harder to keep the Rats independent.
Coping. Coping so hard right now.

And that is a WRAP (Salt's Song ending slide spoiler) Spoiler
I made this one my last Ambition and only half did that on purpose, lol. I think both the Eastbound music and the background are my favourite soundtrack choices and backsplash art in the game. It's a lovely ending. 🩵🫡
Final verdict, game is good!!
Next stop: SPACE

How do I make money?
I've been trying the mushroom wine -> sapphires -> clay men route but it's very slow and with very little profit with my current cargo size (40 slots). Is there a more efficient way to get echoes, at least enough to get a bigger ship?

Confused about legacy items and endings (spoilers) Spoiler
I know very little about how legacy items work. I've only completed the game once doing "Zong of the Zee". Bummer I didn't get a permanent reward for that one.
So then, thank you so much in advanced if you can help clear my confusion in regards to what this old post says https://old.reddit.com/r/sunlesssea/comments/3zk22d/on_endings_and_legacies/ "All Legacy items obtained through the game endings lock out the other options meant specifically to gain said item."
I've also refer to the nice wiki page: https://sunlesssea.fandom.com/wiki/Legacy
There's all the legacies you can get with the multitude of different choices you could perform to get them. I want to get the legacy items but also wanted to experience most things in the game.
So for example, it sounds like if I do the hidden ending with the merchant to get the horizon codex, I won't be able to "Raise Supremacy: The Dawn Machine to TRIUMPHANT" to see what happens? Another example, if I were to "Bring the Scarred Sister to the Surface and pay her fare" then I would never get to "Console the Austere Acolyte after discovering her secret"?
It sounds like I need to choose which one I'd like to experience?

Do I need to make a scion again?
First playthrough, made a scion, retired, now I'm on my second captain and wanted to have some...fun at the sea with my officers :)...before I carouse in Wolfstack docks.
But then I look into my journal, and it says I already have a scion, or that this will always persist until something destroys it (salt's curse I guess).
So do I have a scion automatically or does the game mix up previous game's "achievements" with my current playthrough?
Do I need to make a new scion again with this new captain?

Should i sell 20 pieces of vital intelligence to the Diplomat?
For reasons I'm embarrassed to say, I got my hands on 20 VIs. Is it worth risking the dawn machine supremacy for 10,000 echoes?
r/sunlesssea • u/karimpai • Jun 13 '26
Is my understanding of the lore right? This is confusing Spoiler
Judgements are basically outer gods that impose natural order. The suns a judgement, And apparently salt used to be one as well. The echo bazaar is a space crab that banged the sun and is now in hiding because of reasons.
Three gods of the zee: Storm, Salt, And stone
A.k.a. The dragon, The Traveller, And the living mountain.
Storm is a dragon/Giant space Leviathan that originated in High wilderness (Aka Outer Space). It serves as an enforcer for the other judgements but got punished because of something he did. He's also dead and is basically just a lobotomized version of himself
Salts the Mysterious one. Theorized to be either a judgement or servant to one. We still don't know its motivations. It had a chat with storm but neither of them liked each other. It then decided to go to 'Super east' because of "reasons" and constructed frostfound to store everything it remembers, Including its own name.
Stone, Is the daughter of the giant space crab and the sun. She's the "Nice" god since her entire body can grant longevity or immortality. The garden of eden is located at the center of her. She got raped by the father of all shapeshifters and gave birth to mount nomai (Purple mountain/Actually in the game)
I think Every other mystery in the game can mostly be answered because of these 3? 4?

I have finished an easy ambition, what should I try next?
I picked the wealth ambition first as that seemed pretty easy to achieve, and it was (although there were...hiccups...to say the least).
I created a scion, obtained 2 or 3 books that increase your stats and have several heirlooms so the next start should be pretty cushy.
Which ambition should I pick next?
I'm guessing explorer would be pretty easy?

TRAVELLER RETURNING Spoiler
Oh my God, this is the best game of all time.
