The Pomodoro technique actually ruins your deep focus when dealing with hard subjects like coding or math!!

Forcing a 5-minute break every 25 minutes completely kills your "flow state." Once your brain finally clicks into complex logic, stopping on an arbitrary timer does more harm than good. What study method actually works better for deep work?

Tips for surviving a semester with Physics, Calculus, and Chemistry

I have Physics, Calculus, and Chemistry (and one class I might switch to a fun one like cooking or spare) next year for grade 12. Study tips? I got 90% in grade 11 physics (coasted the first half), 98% in functions (overstudyed and had a perfectionist mindset but I COOKED), and 88% in chemistry (underestimated the intensity of grade 11 courses and coasted with genuinely no effort). Should I take spare for extra work time, or a fun class for stress-relief. No I cannot move one of the classes to a different semester

Any tips on studying history effectively?

I have a massive multiple-choice History exam covering two terms in a day and a half.

’ve gone through all the material once ,some studied well, some just read, and some barely touched and flashcards aren't an option.

What is the most efficient high- etention strategy to review and lock down this much information in 36 hours?

I am aiming for more than just passing..

How do you know if an exam prep website is actually worth using?

I've been looking for a good website to help me prepare for upcoming exams, but there are so many options that it's hard to tell which ones are actually useful.

Some platforms offer past questions, mock exams, AI explanations, progress tracking, and other study tools, but it's difficult to know whether those features really improve learning or just sound impressive.

When you're choosing an exam prep website, what do you usually look for?

A small rule that's saved me a surprising amount of time.

If I don't immediately know where to save a file... my organization system is probably too complicated. Every note should have one obvious home and it's simple, but I've spent far less time searching for things because of it.
What's your own organization rule?

I realized I've bought 12 online courses and only finished 2. So I built a Notion tracker to stop myself doing that again.

Not gonna lie, this was kind of a wake-up call moment for me lol.

I went through my Udemy + Coursera library last week and counted how many courses I actually completed vs. how many I bought "with good intentions."

12 bought. 2 finished. 😅

The problem wasn't motivation exactly — it was that I had zero visibility. Courses were scattered across platforms, I had no idea how much progress I'd actually made on each one, and there was no "system" pulling me back to finish what I started.

So I spent a weekend building a simple Notion setup that tracks:

- every course I own (with direct links)

- how many lessons total vs completed

- a status tag (planned / in progress / done)

- a deadline so I actually have a target date instead of "someday"

It's honestly such a small thing but having it all in ONE table made a huge difference in actually going back and finishing stuff instead of buying course #13.

Anyone else have this exact problem? Curious how other people deal with the "course graveyard" issue lol
