Six months ago I started my journey to the Tower. I’m almost at the end now, and I don’t know if I’ve ever had a group of fictional characters feel this much like family.

This image of the ka-tet embracing after the attack on Algul Siento absolutely wrecks me. Knowing it’s the last time they’re together as a full tet… I honestly found myself wishing I could step into that circle and hug them too.

It is such a weird feeling…being excited to finally reach the Tower while also grieving that the journey is almost over, and mourning characters who have been such a huge part of the last six months of my life.

Where do I go from here?
I still have to read The Talisman, Rose Madder, Lisey’s Story, Cycle of the Werewolf, The Eyes of the Dragon, and The Tommyknockers. Which would you recommend to help get me out of the end-of-series funk that I’m already in… even though I still have 150 pages left?

Is there an adaptation worth watching?

I’m going to need a minute before moving on but would appreciate recommendations on where to go next. I’ve read Dolores, 11/22, Salem’s Lot and It. I’d rank them It, 11/22, Dolores, Salem’s. But enjoyed all 4.

We are on our cross country trip and I made sure to stop by Gilead, Maine. I know it’s just a small town in western Maine, but as a longtime King fan it felt like one of those obligatory roadside pilgrimages.

I also happened across Roland Lake in Michigan.

It’s made all the sweeter that I am again making my trip to The Dark Tower. We are on Wizard and Glass and Reap is almost upon us. My fourth time all the way through and my partner’s first.

I am visiting family out of town, and went to a used bookstore today. It’s one of those stores where there are so many books it’s overwhelming, and they’re all used. Three floors of it.

The Stephen King section seemed limited to hardcovers, and the older editions of The Shining, IT and Carrie were too worn or damaged for my liking. I did, however, find a (Book Club exclusive?) copy of Secret Windows in hardcover. It was in good shape, and I was going to buy it for my collection, but I didn’t have my phone to check its value.

The owner wanted $40 Canadian for it. I considered it, but put it back.

Now that I’m back home, I see that it’s $80 on Amazon and around $65 plus shipping on eBay.ca. I guess I should have bought it.

Did I make a mistake?

That ending broke my heart. Why did Kind have to end it so tragically ?

Personally I think he could have made a wonderful adaptation of It.

I just went to 2nd and Charles, and I somehow someway found an ORIGINAL HARDCOVER COPY OF IT, FOR ONLY 12 DOLLARS!!! This is literally one of the greatest discoveries I’ve ever made!! Although, I have no clue if it’s a first edition or not. If anybody knows, could you let me know if it’s a first edition?

Guys I can’t believe it I LOVE this book wow I don’t have any words… I’m devastated that it did not make top 50

Speaking of… we have final,y reached TOP 50! After 28 eliminations, only the really good stuff seems to be left and decisions get harder by the minute.

My youngest is turning 13. I think I read the stand as my first Stephen King book, might have been It. He's really into fnaf but has read all of them, but goes to show he's into horror. I'm trying to think of birthday gifts for him. What book of Stephen King's would you recommend he start off with? I'm leaning towards one that is around 400 pages, since reading isn't one of his most favorite things to do and an 800 to 1000 page book would likely be too overwhelming for him to even start

I’m want to purchase a good book with my 1 credit on audible and I was thinking about buying the Stand. Is it worth the purchase or should I wait and find something else? If so what would you suggest?
