basically, i intentionally made a jig melody that sounds a little like it's on a skipping vinyl record. one little problem though, it doesn't fit neatly in 6/8 or 9/8 or 12/8, and i've been trying to put some measures in al of these time signatures and i'm sort of all out of juice. thus, i thought it best to ask other people, not only to spare my brain, but also to get input from other people on how they feel this should be best divided for it to be more easily legible.

I'm 20 years old ( a "widow" for most of my music life since 2020) and a volunteer at my church's liturgical music ministry and so I'm trying to learn how to read and write music sheet.

I tried to have a friend play it---They could not. Said the notes I wrote "didn't exist" so it's that bad, I guess. I'd really appreciate it if y'all could point out every single thing wrong with it and in that way teach and correct me. Also, it's not done. That's all I could fit in the page.

Hi. I wanted to transcribe a piano riff from a song to a line of sheet music for a possible tattoo (if not, some sort of art project), so I cobbled it together with this website: https://www.freenotation.com/

However, though I can hardly read or write sheet music, I do know that there are often technicalities to how it's written, and I'd really like this to be as accurate as possible if it's gonna be a permanent fixture in a piece of art that may or may not end up on my body.

I was wondering if anyone here might be willing to take a look at this and compare it to the song and make sure it's correctly written? The riff is from Marching Bands of Manhattan by Death Cab For Cutie and it's played over and over at the end of the song--this would be the last play-through of it, as the last note here rings out at the very end. I don’t need the full sheet music, just a lead sheet for a rhythm section to improvise off of. I’ll be singing, and there will be a piano, bass, and drums. I’ve found a few online, but they’re not very accurate. I’m singing the Al Jarreau version, and there’s a bridge—“Elephants dancing, clowns on parade”—right after the first two verses with a modal shift/key change for four bars. Then at “rides on the midway,” it moves back to the original key. The only other difference is that the first verse has different lyrics, but I can easily fix that just by crossing them out.

It also needs to be in Al’s original key. Is there anywhere I can find this sheet, or could someone write it for me?

I've been listening to this one violin concerto, the Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto (specifically movement III adagio, assai doloroso) and also TwoSet's entire Fantasia album on repeat. I'm a pianist and I would really like to play these pieces on the piano and unfortunately I am terrible at transferring notes onto a stave (I've tried, believe me). I found this music sheet in an old book my girlfriend gifted me. It is a song from the hills of himachal however by reading the translated version I wasn't able to figure out the song. So when my great aunt turned 96 she played a song on the piano. My mom [her niece] asked what it was called she said "Wouldn't it be nice if I were dead" we all chuckled and were like "no really what's it called?" That ended up being the name of the song.
