On Saturday I took the plunge and shaved my head with the Remington Balder Pro in the shower. It came out great, unfortunately on Monday my scalp started to get increasingly itchy… now it’s Wednesday and I’m struggling not to scratch.. I moisturized, used sun screen, used an after shave balm and nizoral shampoo… after all of those things it’s still very very itchy.

Anyone have experience and suggestions? If the itchiness doesn’t go away I’m afraid that I’ll permanently have to wear a hat.

my neck hair grows stupidly fast. two days after shaving, my shirt collars are already rubbing against fresh razor bumps and driving me nuts.

last night my gf zapped my red, inflamed neck with her device (one of those ulike models). honestly i barely felt anything, which kinda makes me skeptical.

for guys with coarse hair, do home ipl devices actually work long term? i don't need to be 100% hairless, i just want to stop getting razor burn and ruining my work shirts. am i wasting my time here?

I see a few options.

I am using a brand new, just opened cleaning solution, with a brand new series 9 cassette. Placed the shaver in the station, it beeps, the shaver light up w battery bars and droplet icon but it won't start cleaning (filling up w solution) no matter how many times I pressed the clean button. I cleaned the cleaning station as well by running water to open the holes and even used toothpick to poke it open.

The cassette and solution is brand new, used it once or twice so there is some minimal hairs in the cassette but I always like to clean it every week. I also took apart the cassette and tapped it on surface to get rid of hairs as well.

Any idea what's wrong?

I think it’s time to take the plunge and shave my head for the first time. I’ve never owned a head shaver before, so I’m hoping for recommendations.

I’m looking for something that’s easy to use, gives a close shave, and isn’t a pain to clean or maintain. I’m open to spending a little more if it’s worth it and will last.

What would you recommend for a beginner?
Are there any brands or models I should avoid?

Hi, I saw these electric Phillips one blade 360 5 in 1 razor and I was just wondering if any girls have experience with it?

I mainly want to buy it for my legs is it good for the legs? And upper lip hair? I never used razors before because I am scared I will cut myself, but from what I have seen you can’t cut yourself with this

I’m looking for recommendations on a good foil shaver mainly for my beard.

the hair on some parts of my legs after shaving is always still so visible, it feels smooth but i can see it very clearly. i don’t think it’s ingrown hairs because there’s no bumps and it happens immediately after shaving.

does anyone know what could be causing this, and anything i can do to prevent it? i have eczema and super sensitive skin so ideally products that will not irritate my skin.

also i’ve seen people talking about exfoliating but i’m not sure how good any of that will be for a skin of my type. any recommendations would be so helpful!!

I’ve use Braun foil shavers always. The last one was series 9 which just recently died after 6-7 years. I recently bought this very cheap and tiny rotary shaver for traveling. It’s slow but very convenient. One thing I noticed about it is that it doesn’t let any dust hair out while shaving. No mess on or around the sink. I can literally walk around shaving and not have to worry about any mess. However, with my expensive Braun shavers there is always a lot of dust hair on my chest and sink while shaving. It’s pretty annoying. I’m wondering if rotary shavers are better than foil shavers in terms of keeping the cut hair sealed inside them. I’m looking for a new shaver and wondering if I should switch to rotary for that reason.

I used a Gillette razor and shaved down there and now I have pink bumps that won’t go away. Did I used the wrong razor? How do I make them go away? They came after I shaved.

I've just started growing facial hair at 20 and want to get an electric razor that can trim my facial hair instead of just shaving it all off to a clean shave. I've been looking at the Braun All-in-One Series 9 Trimmers because of the length adjusting feature. Does anyone know if that is any good? I like the idea of being able to also precisely trim my facial hair as well as cut it down to a shorter length without taking all of it off.

Hi, I understand this is a silly question but hear me out.

I was able to snatch a brand new, beautiful Mühle brand set of a razor compatible with Mach 3 cartriges, shaving bowl, stand, and brush. It is 11pm and I read Gilette compatibility. I did not read the Mach 3.

Last week, a local drugstore chain had a coupon glitch, allowing me to use my "buy the blades, get the razor free" coupon on Gilette Fusion 5 blades & a handle with 10 blades instead of just a handle. I effectively got over half off on the blades + then a free handle, BUT I now have 18 blades, some leftover F5 ones, and some Wilkinson Hydro 3. I'm set for a long time with blades I know I like.

As it turns out, none of them are compatible with the gorgeous handle about to come in the mail because Mach 3 is a different system than Fusion5, the compatible handle is 50€, and I don't want to nor can afford to spend that much right now on something like this. Ugh. Well, I didn't know that.

Has anyone ever McGyvered a solution to use Fusion 5 type blades on a Mach3 handle? I do have a spare handle with that connector piece I don't mind breaking if it can be used. Otherwise I'm looking at the cute new one gathering dust for counts fingers a lot of months 🥲

Any tips would be incredible. If I'm screwed, I'll also take Mach 3 reviews...

I shave my under arms basically every other day, sometimes every few days, and I was just looking to see if anybody has any product recommendations for making your armpits look and feel smoother and lighter? So I am doing shave from past 3 years or so. And i have been using Gillette disposable Razors and it was really nice. I've done against the grain shaves and no issue.

But recently due to cost cutting, I've decided to shift to Safety Razor with Blades. So I went to Al-Fatah and got the most expensive one they had . It was Genesis by Treet. And I also got Treet Platinum Super Stainless blades with it.

But the issue is, I'm using shaving foam and everything like I used to do before. But a fresh blade nicks my skin so much when I do against the grain that whole face area gets covered with blood from those nicks.

I want to ask if I'm doing anything wrong or should I change my blades brand to Dorco or Gillette?

Note: I do double shaves. First with grain and after that wash face and apply foam etc again and do against the grain.

Hi. I’m a 20 year old closeted trans woman (not currently taking hormones) and i get a lot of body hair.

I absolutely despise my body hair and always have. I’ve kept a habit of shaving it all off as much as i can, and i have explored different methods of hair-eradication over the years. At first i would just run a manual razor against my dry and hairy skin (wickedly stupid of me, i know, but give me some slack. i was like 13.) then i would use this little bottle of shaving cream that i think i stole from my sisters, only i would go through an entire bottle just trying to do one of my legs, which in one specific instance had me fall into an explosive meltdown in my bathroom over it. Eventually i got into using electric razors. I’ve been using electric razors for my whole body for years now and that method is starting to fail. I have gone through 2 electric razors from overuse now. Which seems stupid and impossible to me. People use electric razors all the time and it was my assumption that they last a long while because they’re expensive and often come with multiple attachments and doo-dads you can stick onto them for specific needs. i lost a razor today to (i think) overuse. (I say i think because the inside of the razor head doesn’t seem worn away like my old one, so part of me is thinking that maybe it just needs a higher charge to effectively hold enough strength to keep the edge vibrating. Admittedly, i don’t know much about razors.)

Shaving my whole body is a very tedious process that takes at most 2 hours. I only really do it when it gets to be too much hair for me to be comfortable with, so it’s not like i’m shaving myself down completely every other day. It’s more of a weekly thing.
I don’t trust creams or products like nair and am worried about what it would do to my skin, and waxing sounds like an excruciating and embarrassing nightmare.

does anyone have any advice to help a girly out?

edit: just fixing some inevitable grammar and spelling mistakes, you know how it is. Also, i just wanted to add i pointed out that i’m a trans woman not on hormones because i know that estrogen often has an effect on body hair growth. To what degree, i’m not sure, because i feel like every source i can find says something different.

Hey everyone! I’ve never posted here before, but it seemed like the right spot. I have been using Venus pubic hair and skin smoothing exfoliant for before shaving, and it has done wonders for reducing irritation and making everything smooth. It seems, unfortunately, that it has been discontinued!

I have bought up the last of the bottles on Amazon. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good replacement?

I only regularly shave my face. I have body hair pretty much everywhere except my back, but it’s nothing crazy just a normal amount. I’ve trimmed with an electric trimmer before, tried waxing my chest once, and used a razor on my legs one time. Every time I end up with itching, irritation, or ingrown hairs while it grows back, so I just stopped.

My wife actually likes body hair, so I don’t really see the point for me in particular to be bald, but I’ve thought about trimming everything shorter around my package just to look a little more groomed cause it’s getting bushy.

For the guys who shave or trim:

-Why do you do it?

-Razor or trimmer?

-How often?

-How are y’all shaving your butt and balls without tearing yourselves up?

-How do you deal with the itchy growing-back phase?

-If you shave once, do you have to keep doing it to avoid the itch, or can you just let it grow back?

And for the guys who don’t shave at all, what’s your reason? Is it just preference, sensitive skin like me, your partner likes it, or you just don’t care?

Just curious because every time I’ve tried it, I’ve regretted it a few days later.

I've kept a beard most of my adult life, and recently started shaving. Turns out, as a 36 year old man, I still don't know how to shave properly, haha.

Around 24–30 hours after a close shave, I get these white bumps on my skin, that I suspect is ingrown hair? They usually disappear after around 2 days, but it's pretty annoying going out looking like this.

My process is usually:

Rinse my face with some warm water

Apply non-lathering shaving cream

Shave, only down towards the chin (using Gillette Fusion5)

Rinse cream off face and dab with cold water

I recently bought a Panasonic Arc 5 and it's done very well on my face and my immediate under jaw area, but it misses an uninsignificant amount of hair (stubble) on my neck despite how many passes and what direction I go. I just want to hear others' opinions and maybe experiences because right now, I'm thinking about returning it and either going for the Wahl Vanish or the Babyliss FX3. If you've had those, do comment it as well.

I’ve been using the Philips OneBlade and at first it was okay but I’ve grown increasingly frustrated with it. I find that it doesn’t give me a clean shave like I want and always turns out a bit patchy. Maybe it’s better if you have more hair but I shave everyday. It also still gives me razor bumps though not that badly anymore. The whole reason I stopped using a multi-blade razor was because of the razor bumps. I tried a safety razor but cuts were an issue.

I feel like I’m at a loss for what to use. I really want a completely clean shave without cuts or irritation. If anyone has suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.
