Advice Tired of feeling like sandpaper 12 hours after shaving my legs

I can get my legs totally smooth at night, but literally by the time I wake up, the stubble is already back. it is so exhausting dealing with this daily shaving cycle.

I don't even care about being 100% hairless forever at this point, i just want to stop feeling prickles on my sheets every morning. finally pulled the trigger on a home device (using that ulike air model) mostly because the cold glass part made it manageable enough that I wouldn't give up after two tries. for those who started ipl for fast-growing thick hair, how long did it take before you noticed the dark roots fading or shaved less often?

Just trying to see if there's light at the end of the tunnel here.

Thoughts on electric razors for facial hair removal on women ?

Hi everyone !

I am looking for an easy, efficient, quick and at home way to remove my upper lip hair. I used to go to a salon to wax it but I always had pimples and breakouts afterwards. I thought that maybe a small electric razor for the face could be a great alternative, but I am also scared about what the hair will look like growing back. For context, my upper lip hair is blonde/fair and thin, but I have a lot of hair so that's why it's noticeable.

Has any of you tried electric razor to shave the face ? If so, would you recommend it ?

Can I use tend skin after shaving?

I heard tend skin is safe to use after shaving, but does it work well? Is this safe for the pubic area all the way to the buttocks? If I pluck a hair, and use tend skin, does it decrease the chance of having ingrown hair? Will I need to use this everyday or just after shaving?

I'm wondering if it will work because I'm thinking of buying one to avoid getting ingrown hairs, if I shaved. Hopefully, If you have used it, do you recommend it? Do you get ingrown hair after shaving and applying this?

Question Red bumps on my legs after shaving + being out in hot weather

Thumbnail

Hi everyone, I shaved my entire body at night. The next morning I went outside and it was very hot, and I was sweating a lot. When I came back home at night, I noticed these red bumps all over my tights .
They don’t hurt or itch, but my skin looks very irritated and bumpy. I’m wondering if this is razor burn, folliculitis, heat rash, or a reaction from shaving combined with the heat?
Has anyone experienced something similar after shaving and being exposed to hot weather? What helped your skin calm down?

Advice Veet cream burns

I tried Veet for my pubic hair yesterday. Just above my pubic area it burned soooo bad and I had to wipe it off immediately. The area on my inner thighs and outer genitalia was completely unsuccessful. Left it on for 2 minutes as instructed, went another 2 and no hair scraped off. I was scared to leave it on any longer since the lower abdomen above the pubic line burned so bad. Any help or suggestions?

after shaving pain

when i shave legs, i suffer from painful burning sensations. i slather myself in thick moisturizer and it helps for a moment but everytime i have to dose myself with benadryl to get it to stop so i can sleep. it doesn’t turn into razor burn or anything… does anyone else suffer from this or should i seek a double amputation?

Question Happy trail

Hi! Ive been a once a day shaver since i was old enough to grow hair everywhere, and it grew EVERYWHERE. Compared to my medium blonde hair, a majority of my body hair is just straight up black.
Everything was mostly fine, a few ingrowns, etc etc. Until I noticed my happy trail would leave dark marks where the hair was, yet it just grows so quick and thick if Im not constantly tweezing them:((
HELP! How do I remove the hairs in my happy trail without leaving dark on my skin?

Edit: added the question

Question Best leg hair removal options for coarse red hair

Hi!! I’ve been trying for years to find the best way to remove my leg hair. I would love to do laser but since I have red hair I am not a candidate:( I’ve tried electrolysis but it seems like a really expensive and time consuming option for such a large area with legs.
My hair is very coarse so even when I shave it still feels prickly and never smooth- so frustrating !!!
I was considering waxing but the grow out period seems a little bit hard to keep up with.
I don’t have many women in my family with thick hair like I do so any advice to either make my hair smoother/ less prickly or just removal options you’ve felt have worked for you would be greatly appreciated!!!
So tired of shaving !!

Best razor for travel that doesn't get gross while traveling

I recently switched to Billie razors after Schick stopped making my beloved razors, and I like them EXCEPT for travel. The moisturizing strips get really gross, especially if you are putting them back in the case every day. A lot of the times when I travel, I move around every day or two, or am in a situation where I can't leave my razor out (i.e., sleeping on a friend's couch in a crowded bathroom, so don't want to leave all my stuff out, shared outdoor shower situation at Burning Man, camping, etc.) and the razors got super gross. I was looking into alternatives for travel razors - Athena have the same issues, apparently.

I check a bag usually (I live in Hawai'i so usually traveling for longer) so not worrying about TSA issues.

I like Billie except for travel!

Question IPL for a year and I’m still hairy. Am I wasting my money?

I've been doing IPL at a local salon for about a year now. Every 4-5 weeks

But the hair has definitely gotten finer and I'll give it that. But it's still growing back and it grows fast. I'm naturally very hairy. Dark hair+pale skin. The perfect candidate, apparently.

I was promised permanent reduction, but I'm not seeing it

One of my friends works in a dermatologist's cabinet. She told me that IPL is not a laser at all and that I am wasting my money on treatments. Only diode or alexandrite lasers used in medical grade clinics can produce any effect

I started googling and found Lush Skin & Laser Clinic. They straight-up say IPL is "not a laser" and that it rarely delivers lasting results

Is this actually true? Or is it just marketing to upsell me?

Has anyone here tried both? Did you notice a real difference? I don't want to keep paying for something that'll never give me the result I want. But I also don't want to spend way more on medical laser if the difference is minimal

I'm confused and a bit annoyed any honest experience would help

Advice Ummm

So I’ve had itching and burning for years down there and I always thought it was a uti or whatever and could never go to the doctors. Now I’m wondering if my razor was the reason why I had all these reasons. After every use I try my best to clean it but there are always a lot of hairs still stuck in the razor and since I wasn’t taught that you should always properly make sure that it was throughly clean I didn’t think music of it. Until I realized that when I use a new razor blade I’m good, no problems but if I use that same razor blade next time I start itching crazy but didn’t connect it to my razor. And I don’t shave every week, more like when ever I feel like it. Does anyone else experience this?

Question How to properly exfoliate and shave down there?

Like the title says, I’m 19 and I’ve tried using those hair removal creams like veet but bumps are still visible :( even with razors and conditioner used it’s still red and bumpy. I figured I’m doing something wrong.. I just want it to look nice because I’m going on vacation next week and I don’t want my tiny hairs to be visible. Specifically bikini area. I just trim the bush.

What do you all use? What product do you recommend and budget friendly?

Advice Please help need advice

this is my first time posting on reddit and every where i try to post they don’t allow me because I’m new. i’m a hairy girl and this is the first time i try wax strips, i looked at a tutorial and the girl just put it and pulled and all the hair was removed instantly like it was a piece of cake. once i tried them i pulled hard and some hair came out but some stayed, i did it multiple times until my armpits became purple, sometimes i’d put them and feel the most pain I’ve ever felt just to find out it pulled a singular hair. My armpits are STICKY now and whatever i try to do the stickiness doesn’t come off, i washed it with body soap and shampoo and everything it just doesn’t go and now i feel sticky and dumb and disgusting. Please what should i do

Question Best razor for sensitive skin?

I have very sensitive skin and thick leg hair, and I’ve struggled with razor bumps, irritation, and ingrowns for as long as I can remember.

I’ve tried everything (aside from laser, which I’ll do eventually but don’t want to spend the $ right now): waxing is too irritating, hair removal cream doesn’t work. Shaving is my only option right now.

I do all of these things: exfoliating before shaving, shaving less often, sensitive skin shaving cream, Tend Skin after shaving, and fragrance-free moisturizer. Despite all that, I still get irritation every time.

It’s frustrating because I can’t just shave whenever I want—I have to plan around when I’ll be wearing shorts or skirts because my legs need time to recover.
I currently use a Venus Gillette razor (usually ComfortGlide).

I’ve read that fewer blades may be better for sensitive skin. Has anyone with similar issues had success with a safety razor, a different razor, or any other tips?

This is from shaving right?

Dumb question I guess… but I get these on my legs all the time.
First pic I got this week and then I included a picture of my legs after they healed and left pigmentation.

I don’t feel any pain when I shave and then randomly this will appear. How do I stop this from happening? I hate the way my legs look from all these
