Ask r/SachinFans What's the first memory that comes to your mind when someone says "Sachin Tendulkar"?

Whether you grew up watching him live or discovered his highlights years later, there's usually one moment that immediately comes to mind whenever someone mentions Sachin Tendulkar.

It could be a specific innings, a shot, a World Cup moment, a match you watched with family, or even the first time you realized why so many people called him the "Master Blaster."

Mine is seeing an entire stadium erupt every time he walked out to bat—it always felt like something special was about to happen.

What's the very first Sachin memory that pops into your head, and why has it stayed with you all these years?

Video Remember this when Sachin Tendulkar was left stranded on 96* after Dinesh Karthik accidentally flicked the ball.

Ask r/SachinFans Which Sachin Tendulkar innings can you watch again and again?

Sachin played so many amazing innings, but everyone has one favorite.

Which Sachin innings do you enjoy watching the most, and why?

It can be from a Test, ODI, IPL, or even an underrated match that people do not talk about much.

For me, the best part about Sachin was how he could play in different ways depending on the situation.

Would love to know your favorite Sachin innings.

Ask r/SachinFans Which underrated Sachin Tendulkar innings deserves to be talked about more?

Everyone remembers the Desert Storm knocks, the 200*, and the 98 against Pakistan in the 2003 World Cup.

But which innings do you think never gets the appreciation it deserves?

I'd love to discover some forgotten gems from his career.

Video If there's one person who never misses a chance to genuinely admire Sachin Tendulkar, it's Virender Sehwag. No one does it quite like him.

Discussion What Sachin taught me as a kid was bigger than cricket

I grew up watching Sachin Tendulkar like many Indian kids did, with the remote in one hand and full emotional investment in every ball.

But honestly, what stayed with me was not just the straight drive or the centuries. It was the way he carried himself.

Sachin taught me that being great does not mean being loud. You can be the biggest name in the room and still stay calm, respectful, and focused. As a kid, I used to think confidence means showing off. Watching Sachin made me realise real confidence is quietly doing your work again and again until people cannot ignore it.

Also, every time he got out early, the whole house mood used to change. Suddenly lunch tasted different, uncle stopped talking, and someone would say, “TV band kar do.” That is when I understood how one person can become an emotion for millions.

For me, Sachin was not just a cricketer. He was a lesson in discipline, humility, patience, and handling pressure without becoming bitter.

Even today, when life feels messy, I remember one simple Sachin-type lesson:

Show up. Stay humble. Keep improving. Let your work speak.

Discussion Is Joe Root the greatest batsman ever?

Joe Root is the best English batsman to ever play cricket, but is he the greatest batsman of all time?
Joe Root has a Test average of 50.58, with 14,114 runs. In ODIs, he averages 50.66 with 7,752 runs, and in T20Is he has scored 893 runs at an average of 35.72.
Joe Root will most likely beat Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 15,921 Test runs, as he will probably play for another three to five years. If we are talking about ODIs, Joe Root has a much better average than Sachin Tendulkar. Tendulkar averaged 44.83, while in T20Is Tendulkar only played one match, scoring 10 off 12 balls.
Now, I would say Joe Root is better than Virat Kohli in Test matches, while Kohli is better in ODIs. However, after 191 ODI innings, it is actually closer than you might think. Kohli had scored 8,343 runs at an average of 54.88, while Joe Root had scored 7,752 runs at an average of 50.66.
You could say Don Bradman is the greatest batsman of all time, but I just do not think you can compare eras like that. He played so long ago that I am not convinced the comparison is completely fair.
Even in T20Is, Joe Root is a good player. He has a highest score of 90\* off 49 balls against Australia.
This could just be English bias from me, but I really do feel like Joe Root could be the greatest batsman of all time.

Ask r/SachinFans Dose of Inspiration

Nothing else provides motivation and inspiration at the same time as watching Sachin's vids.

I think its because of the extraordinary level or performance (motivation) & the excessive humility (inspiration) that he displayed.

Maybe Kalam and Federer come close. wdyt?

Discussion Youngest and oldest player SRT has played against?

There was another thread that discussed how LeBron James had played against someone born in 1962 and in 2006 (oldest and youngest). Was wondering if anyone can find a similar stat for SRT?
