Today me and my classmate had booked a study room to work on upcoming assessment. When we were in the room there was a women in her maybe late 30s she could be a professor or student idk walking up and down giving us death stares a couple of times and then walking into the study room 5 min later and telling us “have u booked this room” i said yes but then she said “i need this room’ i said “no” since we booked it first she then rolls her eyes at us and slams the door hard. Wtf is this attitude i was so confused, just go fkn book another room its not hard.

I’m an international student who recently completed the Master of Engineering (Civil) at RMIT.
After completing all of my coursework, RMIT marked my program as complete and I received my completion statement. A few days later, my completion status was revoked, I lost access to my completion documents, and I was told that I could not graduate because I still needed to complete the Engineering Professional Practice (EPP) requirement (210 hours)

As an international student, I genuinely had no idea that this was a separate graduation requirement. I don’t remember it ever being clearly explained during my studies, so finding out only after completing my degree was a complete shock.

What makes this even more confusing is that I submitted my engineering work experience documents when I applied for admission to RMIT. If the EPP requirement is mandatory and engineering work experience completed within the past three years can be counted towards it, why wasn’t my work experience assessed earlier? If those documents could have been reviewed, this issue could have been identified and resolved before I completed my degree, instead of after my completion and graduation eligibility were revoked.

It’s been really upsetting and frustrating. I honestly don’t know what to do now. I’ve contacted the EPP coordinator and the STEM Student Lifecycle team, but I still don’t have a clear solution or know what will happen next.
Has anyone else experienced something similar? Were you aware of the EPP requirement before finishing your degree?

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been through a similar situation or has any advice. Thank you.

In 2023 I began the Bachelor of Engineering Honours BH126 this is a 1 year long course which requires you to choose your desired engineering specialisation after completion. I chose Bachelor of Civil and Infrastructure Engineering which I began in 2024. In the EPP Module Handbook it says students who commenced an undergraduate degree before semester 1 2024 are exempt from having to do EPP. Since the Bachelors of Engineering Honours is not a full degree and is meant for you to transfer into desired engineering course, am I exempt or do I still need to fulfill the EPP requirements? I've contacted RMIT connect regarding this, but they haven't responded yet, just wanted some answers.

Hello. I'm thinking of applying for RMIT’s Master of Translating & Interpreting with Malay as my LOTE. The handbook says it only runs if enough students enrol. Does Malay actually run often? Or do people usually end up in the non‑language‑specific stream? Any experiences appreciated! I did 3 subjects semester 1 rmit bcom, tried to transfer into uni Melb bcom and didn’t get in. Still at rmit bcom, I don’t know if I should do 3 or 4 subjects for semester 2 (first year). By doing 3 my ATAR will be considered with a bigger percentage at end of year - when I apply again to unimelb bcom, which Idm cuz my atar was 90+. And also I get to focus more on 3 subjects and possibly higher wam. If I do 4, less atar and could be harder to get a higher wam. It seems like a no brainer to do 3 but I need to know if I’m overlooking something or missing nuance to this decision. My long term goal is to do bcom at unimelb major in accounting. I’m very persistent and stuck on this goal.

I have a 50% exam in a couple of hours and I’m having problems with my password so i can’t get into canvas and it’s been disabled for a bit :(.

THE COURSE IM DOING (medical radiation) REQUIRED 3 DOSES OF COVID BOOSTER TO BE ABLE TO GO ON PLACEMENT.

HOWEVER, I ONLY MANAGED TO GET THE 2ND ONE SO FAR, AND THE 3RD ONE IS SCHEDULED TO BE DONE ON AUGUST, SPECIFICALLY 5 DAYS AFTER PLACEMENT HAS ALREADY BEGIN. 😭 😭 😭 😭

SO I SUBMIT A DOCUMENT STATING CLEARLY THAT I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET THE DEADLINE (DEADLINE WAS AT THE END OF JUNE), AND ASK IF THE WIL TEAM CAN GIVE ME AN EXTENSION.

The catch is, the WIL team SAW the document i submitted, and is FULLY AWARE that I can only get the 3rd vaccine in August and they approved of my document and gave me an extra 5 days after the deadline ended. 😭😭😭
HOWEVER AFTER THOSE 5 DAYS PASS, THEY JUST TOLD ME I FAILED TO MEET THE DEADLINE AND TOLD ME TO DROP THE COURSE??? HOW DOES THAT WORK?? I THOUGHT THEY APPROVED OF MY DOCUMENT??

I do understand that I have to get the vaccine b4 i go to placement. BUT GUESS WHAT?? PLACEMENT HAS BEEN DELAYED OVERALL FOR THE COHORT!!! AND ITS NOW MOVED BACK TO SEPTEMBER. SO I HAVE MORE THAN ENOUGH TIME TO GET IT DONE IN TIME!!!

SO IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO IN THIS SITUATION? I TRIED ARGUING WITH THE WIL TEAM BUT THEY ARE SO PERSISTENT ON THEIR ANSWER AND JUST KEPT SAYING I SHOULD DROP THE COURSE
