Discussion One of my favorite Razor products in quite awhile. The Siren V3 Pro has been great.

It's not often that I have something glowing to say about a Razer product but this one is among one of my favorite purchases. I thought I'd share.

After having my ModMic USB 2 fail on me I was going to RMA to get another but as I did that, I was thinking, "if I already gave up on gaming headsets, why not go all in with getting an actual dedicated mic?"

I went to the Razer store out in Long Island about a week or 2 ago as I wanted to check it out in person and I was happy from the in-store test. Bought it (came w/ a Snek) and ordered a boom arm from Amazon before I left the mall.

This thing has been golden, the quality from the USB is superb and the tweaks you can make is pretty damn detailed. I preferred manually tweaking over the guided trainer setup they have. The mute "button" is very easy to hit so just be aware of the red light when adjusting it's position. It's build to not jiggle or click, this thing feels as premium as it sounds.

My clanmates noticed the higher quality right away and it's been smooth sailing.

Discussion Razer RMA process Insanely Fast

I opened a ticket last Tuesday. Wednesday I got the RMA approval with shipping label. I dropped off the package at UPS on Thursday. It's not Wednesday of next week and I just got a notification that my replacement is out for delivery.

So a one week turnaround total from creating the ticket to receiving brand new device. I'm actually shocked how fast this whole process was.

Every RMA I've done with other companies has taken at least 3 weeks.

Review Why many of us will never buy another Razer product

Upvotes

I want to be able to purchase a product and use it with it's intended functionality, WITHOUT being forced into signing in, updating or signing a new user agreement. Most people understand that a company, especially one with a past as rocky as Razors, can't be trusted with simply accepting updates and new EULAs.

Remember when Razor decided to silently drop a background bitcoin miner into there FORCED update and it was on by default? Remember the dozens of times that they FORCED updates that completely broke their software from recognizing their periphreals? Remember when they FORCED an update that would never finish downloading, so the software wouldn't even open? I do. So tell me Razor, why in the name of Zeus's BUTTHOLE would I trust a company that holds my settings, configs and profiles hostage, by trying to make me sign a new user agreement, before allowing me to access the basic functionality that I bought the product for. I've put up with it for long enough and I know I'm not alone. My mouse is finally going in the trash where it belongs.

If anyone from the company happens to see this, (and lets face it, probably not, since they've made it painfully obvious that they have no intention of listening to their customer base) I suggest you re-evaluate your business practices and start supporting your customers, instead of trying to use them. You're products are already overpriced. Most of us expect a certain level autonomy for the cost required just to purchase your products.

For anyone considering purchasing a Razor product, all I can say is DON'T. There are far better options out there. Not only is their construction cheap, but the software bloats your PC, There is no way to avoid new updates, they force you to be signed in for full functionality and they have shown time and time again that they will mine/sell your data (as expressed in their latest updated terms), without discretion.

Question Razer Blackshark V3 X Hyperspeed on Mac

Upvotes

Hi so I am a medical virtual assistant and am planning to buy this headset for work and for leisure. From what I've read is that it has a noise cancellation feature on the external mic but is only turned on and has no more premium settings that can control the level like that of wity the V3 and the V3 Pro. Since this has the Razer Audio app, maybe I can use the app to set the noise cancellation before using it on my macbook to access that. I might get calls during work from time to time, and can anyone give me any feedback regarding using this on calls on Zoom, MS, VoIP, Ringcentral? Regarding clarity and noise cancellation of background sound, maybe cars running past your house. I know I should get a dedicated headset for that but in my mind I just want to get something that does both for one headset. Plus the feature that it can be used wired or wireless is a good feature for me since I can be flexible around the house while wearing the headphones if a call does arrive.

PS

In our company they don't allow any noise cancellation apps like Krisp, etc..

Question Razer Blackshark V3 Pro Chat/Game balance knob

Hey!

I'm currently using the Steelseries Nova 7 which has the Chat Mix feature. Both the volume wheel and Chat Mix wheel have "min" and "max", meaning they stop after reaching top or bottom. The Chat Mix volume also has a "middle notch", meaning if you scroll the wheel, there's a tactile bump where you land exactly in the middle. That's a great feature, because you can just quickly go from "all chat" or "all game" to "both, same volume".

I wanted to get Blacksharks for quite some time. But I was wondering about two things:

* is the volume wheel standard (bottom and top) or infinite scroll?
* same for chat mix -> but also, does it have a "middle notch" or like a sound cue that lets you know that you're in the middle of the chat/game balance?

I didn't see it mentioned in any Razer materials, nor YouTube reviews. I don't get it, since it's kinda important. I myself actually really dislike the infinite scroll wheel, it feels like laziness on the manufacturer's part.

Question Need Monitor Advice

Ive been wanting to update my gaming set up for a bit and have gotten a new desk, keyboard, switched up a monitor already and have a decent mouse set aside at the moment. I currently have a LG 27GL650F-B and a ASUS VA27EHE on dual monitor arms.

I have the opportunity to get 2 of the 27" Razer Raptor QHD gaming monitors with all the cables for about $82 a piece. I wanna know if its really worth it? Especially since the vesa mount adapters are sold-out in the US and are $100 a piece retail. My current set up is with arm mounts in mind. However if they really are worth it, I may try and find monitor stands to put them on so theyre still high enough on my desk to fit right.

Any and all help is appreciated, not super well versed in computer stuff, my custom PC was built by a friend and the monitors I've had aside from the LG were just ones I had or bought cause they seemed good.

Question Bad usb cable

So ive had a razer kraken vs for about a year and a half now and whenever I plug into my ps5 it usually says "too many usb devices connected." I read into it and looked up solutions but all I got were getting replacement wires then removing and putting in a new wire(involves dissection of the headset). I dont even know if its in the wire itself or the usb input and dont exactly know how to identify it. Are there any simpler ways to fix this issue?
