An old friend is back!

It's been years already now since I switched to daily driving a Pixel 7 after my Razer Phone 2's battery life started becoming unacceptable for a daily driver (and honestly, by now even my P7 is starting to near the point where I'm considering getting a new phone within the next year or two). That being said, I did want to see if my otherwise perfectly functional RP2 (yes, even the USB-C port and fingerprint sensors) could have new life breathed into it with a new battery. Found a replacement off Coupang (basically like the Korean local equivalent of Amazon) fairly easily for about 30000 KRW, but wasn't confident in actually doing the replacement myself without fucking something up. Luckily, after asking around various phone repair shops in and around Seoul, I found one near Sinchon station which was willing to a) deal with my foreigner ass speaking broken Korean and more importantly, b) replace the battery on this thing for 50000 KRW. So all told, 80000 KRW later, my Razer Phone 2 now actually has usable battery life again, maybe not as a daily driver, but definitely as a backup phone for convenience.

In the end, worked out to be cheaper than buying another phone as a second phone considering that everything else on it still works.

The amount of "WTFs" I got from the phone repair shops when I showed them this thing...basically in Korea it's like pretty much 95% Samsung or iPhones. It's rare to even find others like Huawei, but at least most people know of them. Most everyday Koreans I've met had never even heard of or seen a Pixel before until they saw mine, and the Razer Phone 2 being both old and niche meant that anyone I showed it to, even the repair techs at the repair shops, were like "tf is this thing" lol

If anyone else in Korea is curious which repair place was willing to do the swap for me for 50000 KRW (+ me providing the battery), it's 청년폰 near 신촌역.

Title is pretty self explanatory. I wanna find a case for my Razer Phone 2, i have A case for it, but it's a really cheap one off of eBay that i guarantee wouldn't protect it in a drop. I wanted to see if someone could find me one or somehow still has one they'd be willing to let go.

I've had my Razer Phone 2 for over 7 years already but today I finally had to get a new phone - sadly, the old one has begun to seriously overheat while charging and the battery's life is on its last leg. I don't want to completely kill it so I decided to give it a retirement before that happens.

From what I've tried and seen, you can manage effectively not having a power button until the phone shuts off, which it's then impossible to get it back on. It's pretty infuriating that's the only hurdle for what would otherwise be manageable. Is there really nothing that can be done?

Phone is at 97% health after a charge, got this for 71$ usd on eBay. It also came with the Razer Junglecat controller and the cases that come with that controller

Hi, I lent my mom my RP1 as an interim phone when hers was spoiled and she set a password on it. She stopped using it when she got a new phone, and now a year later, I wanted to use the phone but she forgot the code for the RP1.

I tried so many times to factory reset it according to the instructions I found online but nothing works. (Vol down + power, as well as the vol up and plug into PC method) nothing seems to trigger the factory reset option. I'm on 52 password tries and counting -__-

hello all, I'm thinking about reviving my beat razer phone 1, it's in desperate need of a new screen as the phantom touch makes the phone completely unusable, paired with the battery that forces it to be plugged in constantly to run. A new set of speaker grilles would be a nice to have as well. would anyone have any recommendations as to where I can source the needed replacement parts as they seem pretty scarce?

As the title suggests, I'm having issues with my phone's storage being filled by photos that aren't there anymore.

I finally backed up my photos and videos and cleared up a lot of the storage that was being occupied. Or, at least, I thought I did. I removed over 30 videos and over 400 photos that were occupying over 15 gigs, but nothing changed in my storage.

I did notice that after expanding the storage with an SD card, photos and videos would occupy BOTH internal and the SD card, so maybe that's part of it?​

I've been reduced to minimal apps that I can't even update anymore because non-existent Images files are eating up over a third of my internal storage. Is there any solution to this outside of a factory reset?

My charging port has been going for a while, and I'm tired of playing gymnastics with it to get it to charge. After some digging online I am discovering, the charging port for the Phone 2 is an issue for a lot of people it seems lol.

I bought it from the flea market, it was bootlooping and seller said that it was because of the battery, at home it didn't take any charge or turn on, than I replaced the battery and now it turns on but the screen turns on for a second (only the backlight) and vibrates, than when it turns on it starts making a sound every 5 seconds, I managed to get in the dialer since touching the screen it makes the dialer sounds but screen doesn't show anything, any tips?

I put an app on the lock screen (circled in red down at the bottom). I've got a couple of questions:

• Is that the only option for a larger size and more central placement? I can't find any options to change it.
• Is there a way for me to access that app from the lock screen without entering my password? A use case would be if I see ICE agents on my block and they're headed toward me. I want to get to that app (which opens to a screen where I go live to YouTube), tap the icon, and have it open with no extra steps. Part of it is just getting there faster, and part of it is working with my brain, which slows down and is prone to panic. Avoiding the password is just an extra step to eliminate if possible

• Dried Paste Under Shim: Hidden dried-out paste beneath the shim leads to uneven contact

** Oversight: Most repasting attempts ignore the paste under the shim, focusing only on the top layer

• Unknown Gap: Without the shim, it's unclear how much vertical space exists between RAM and vapor chamber

• Trial and Error: Pad thickness and paste application become unreliable

• Paste Inefficiency: Thermal paste alone fails to bridge larger gaps effectively

Thermal putty (e.g., K5 Pro, Fujipoly) offers a compressible, gap-filling alternative that adapts to uneven surfaces and maintains contact over time.

• Disassemble the phone carefully to expose the thermal stack

• Remove the copper shim and clean all surfaces thoroughly

• Inspect the CPU/RAM surfaces for dried paste residue and clean it off

• Apply thermal putty directly over CPU and RAM

• Reassemble the vapor chamber with even pressure

• Test thermals under load to confirm improved heat dissipation

The hidden dried paste under the shim is a silent killer of thermal performance. By switching to thermal putty and eliminating the shim, you restore direct, adaptive contact between the heat sources and the vapor chamber—no more guessing shim thickness or battling warped copper.

Hi, I bought 1 Tb memory card in order to use it to transfer photos and videos to the memory card. Now, setting up memory card to act like portable storage was easy. The problem is to set the apps in my phone to send the files to the memory card. I watched many videos how to do it, like go into "About the phone" in settings and change it to developer mode etc. but non of that wored. I dont get the option to change the storage form "internal" to external sd card. I can transfer manually but I wanted to set it up automatically so that the next time a receive for example viber photo/video it goes straight to the memory card.

Hope somebody can guide me trough how to make it possible.

PS: Perhaps Razer does not allow it?
