What's the potential of this controller?
I read about how it works but I can't imagine a situation to use it, any recommendations?

Found the manuals of my PS, but I don't really understand what this one is about?

Finally got the LSD book. Searched so many years for it and didn't looked much into it so I don't get spoiled. I searched for it for 4 years and saw about 4-5 copies. Super cool and unique stuff in there. Also got the LSD and remixes soundtrack. While it isn't that rare also pretty happy to own it, it's my favorite Osamu Sato album.

A fav of mine and severely underrated classic. I love this game and its bonus level music is still one of the best tracks in a any game lol!

I experienced times where my Playstation didn't scan my disk, and my only method for it to work is to put something heavy on it just so then it could work, so I can play fifa 12. Which sometimes annoys me because not everytime I put something heavy , it might work. Any tips on how I could get it repaired?

Part 1 of my series reviewing every North American PlayStation 1 launch game. Starting with ridge racer, as it's the first chronologically in japan (releasing on launch day there too).

Description (from the upload page):
This bracket was redesigned for the PicoStation, and covers only the 1XXX “phat” PS1 (PU-8) simply because I don't have another motherboard that is compatible with the mod itself at this time. Lots of 7501s, but sadly none that support it.
After paying an arm and a leg, having a number of XStations under my belt I wanted to give this a shot for a while now. I also didn't want to defile an audiophile console but lasers are dying these days so I had one on hand that has been just collecting dust for years. I've been slowly working at this with multiple things holding me up along the way, such as replacing caps, the prep work of lifting the legs on the chip, all that sort of thing. I also didn't have a larger module on hand for full sized SD cards so I guess you'll have to deal with it! Also note that the SD module does NOT use an extension in this model. It is for use directly in the top bracket. I recommend using male/female pinheaders for quick disconnect as a console servicing convenience later.
Diagrams grabbed from all over. Props to the community out there but there is still a lot that isn't readily available in a clear way. I still need to come back to this and cut out what isn't needed and include some others but I'll include what I've collected in the files section for now. Here is one of those helpful resources.
This project was based on RetroGameRevival's XStation mounting bracket. I couldn't really find anything decent for the PicoStation out there and this was probably the best that I could find for the XStation so I chose it over all of the others.
Note that the button portion 'sliding door' will need to be filed down to fit correctly. It's a little difficult to get to fit into place.
These are the type of tact switches I used. 3mm push button.
This video may also be useful for the installation process. The AI generated English voiceover with hilarious random noises is particularly a reason to watch in itself. The bracket in that video is not the one I have edited here, but it shows how to install the portions that go into it. I've been working on this off and on for about a week when I had time and they just happened to be upgrading their setup at the same time. Just stumbled onto it last night while surfing through my YouTube subscriptions.

Crossed a few gems off the wishlist today. I was really close to buying Brave Fencer Musashi on eBay, but checked one more store and they had a copy in great shape at a fair price.
Last Raven’s insert had water damage, but I’m tired of looking for it, so I bought it anyways.

Just out of pure curiosity, I've created this fan-made detailed poll, blaffed by how many ways you can (re)play the classic PS1 games.
Would you bother to partecipate with an external link?

Internals from Mitsumi Dualshock fit into Dual analog, just needed to attach big motor holder with super glue and swap motor cables as on Dual analog its on opposite side (small motor wrong way on photo)
And you need to trim few posts on back of the controller where are smd components in the way mostly dpad side.
Now I have best of both worlds 😊

Paid 5 euros, laser is dead but that’s an easy fix. Another project!

Haven't modded a PS1 in a while, but back when I did mine I had to solder a modchip. Recently my friend has asked me to mod a PS1 he just bought so he can play out of region games (we're PAL region). Would a modchip still be required or has a new method been discovered that doesn't require any soldering? I heard they might be something that can be achieved with a memory card now

I grew up with the PS1 back in the late 90s. The interactive sampler CD was the first thing I ever played that opened up to me. Unfortunately, the disc I got has scratches that prevent the music from playing. Still, the nostalgia hit hard. I played many other games that I own digitally including the Crash Bandicoot games, Spyro the Dragon games, Final Fantasy games and more. Chocobo Racing served as my entry point into the Final Fantasy series and Tactics was my first game.
