I really like the change to socket colour restrictions, but I feel like removing white sockets as a bonus on high end items is a small missed opportunity. I would recommend introducing grey, or colourless sockets as the default 'no bonus' socket and have white sockets exist in special cases that provide the quality bonus to any gem colour.

This wouldn't add player power, just quality of life - the same as white sockets currently do. But it means existing mirror items don't get nerfed, and leaves white sockets as a special craft, reward, or corruption outcome. Removing them just feels like it takes away an opportunity for items to feel special. If they are too visually similar to the colourless sockets make them rainbow or spectral sockets or something similar.

Reading the patch nodes and taking a look at the new reservation / cost changes, I’m wondering how people are thinking of solving mana on mana-hungry mana skills.

As an example, Cyclone of Tumult costs 6 mana at max stages, scaling in a 6-link to something like 25. If you attack at around 15/second, this is a 375 mana/second skill on attack build with little/no extra mana.

Before this change, we could scale this to 0, which is (I think) the only way it was playable.

How are you all planning to get around this now? Even stacking efficiency to 80%, this leaves the cost at about 14, so 210 mana per second. Add 2 crafter - channeling skills and you’re at 8 mana per attack, or 120 per second. So two ring slots, 4 passives and it’s still not usable?

Is my math wrong here? Or am I missing something else? As-is, this seems borderline unplayable?

Danish Elites (DE) is inviting people to join a Danish Private League for PoE 3.29 - Curse of the Allflame

If anyone is interested in joining a Danish private league, a few of us have created a Private League for patch 3.29.

It will offer a great combination of SSF and regular Softcore. You will still have your own progression, while keeping the option of internal trading, sharing gear, getting help with builds, and doing bosses together for those who are interested.

It should be more manageable than Trade League, less isolated than SSF, and provide a consistent Danish community throughout the league.

Some funding may be needed if there is enough interest to expand the number of player slots or extend the duration of the private league.

The new conjoined spire node says all other totems die when YOU summon a totem.

it weirdly doesn't say that you can only have 1 totem summoned...

and as far as I know, I am neither a mine or a trap.

could we not link a totem setup to mine/trap support and use proxies to summon up to our max totems, but still gaining all the buffs from this node?

With the removal of Allflames from Betrayal, this scarab feels totally out of place. Please make it improve Betrayal in some way instead of randomly affecting the new league.

Some possible options:
- Increased intelligence gains.
- Maps contain all 4 syndicate encounters.
- Interrogation extracts information 50% faster.

I'll take anything at this point. Betrayal lost so much value this patch that it honestly feels shelved even though it's one of the 4 main master missions. I kept waiting for this scarab to be updated in the patch notes, but I guess renaming Dark Pact to Dark Bargain took priority. Please make this Betrayal scarab a BETRAYAL scarab. Sorry for the rant, but the obvious neglect this mechanic is getting genuinely saddens me.

Hi all, I was absolutely cruising through this game and I pretty much finished Act 4, I think, and started with the ascent but now everything seems to be killing me in like two or three hits. I am playing as a witch and I'm quite new to ARPG games so I'm not really sure what to do. Any hints please, i don't want to sit there following a character guide but maybe i am missing something my gear focuses on energy shields and i am using mainly fireballs and ice with 2 supports so they fire multiples which before this section was 1 hitting most things apart from bosses. I think damage wise i am fine still but its just enemy damage to me seems to have 10x in like one or 2 sections

GGG promised there would be ways to specialize in what mercs you can find on the atlas tree to help you find the mercenary you want.

However most people who are playing Luminary want the Kineticist mercenary. But with the nodes shown (https://poeplanner.com/atlas-tree has the new tree) there is no way to increase the chance of seeing Kineticist. The Kineticist is a Scion, and is Int/Str/Dex aligned. The only nodes that exist either boost two classes (none of which are Scion), or reduce the amount of classes you see aligned with a particular stat. In other words, you can't boost Kineticist's chances at all, only reduce them.

So if you're on SSF, good luck finding a good merc. On trade you can buy one if people are listing them, but the price will be significantly higher than what you might've thought.

I was wondering if anyone has seen or heard any news about the changes to reflect being applied to sources of reflect immunity?

The json files of the skill tree have been published and there is no change to the wording of things like Bastion of Elements Elementalist node where it grants reflect immunity.

Either reflect still exists somewhere in the game, they forgot about these mods, or it’ll work as thorns immunity? A real downgrade of Bastion of Elements imo if that’s the case.

• Bonechill Support: Enemies Chilled by Supported Skills increase Cold Damage taken by Chill Effect, Enemies in Chilling Areas from Supported Skills increase Cold Damage taken by Chill Effect

Obviously, the downside "Cannot deal non-Cold Damage" doesn't matter for minions.

Don’t get me wrong the new crab totems look incredibly fun. Having little crabs scuttling around auto-casting spells is peak PoE and it’s awesome seeing totems get some fresh love.

But as a slam/melee enjoyer, watching spellcasters get mobile crab totems while melee totems sit in total purgatory is pure pain.

Ever since Earthbreaker Support was removed as a standard gem in 3.25, the entire concept of a Slam Totem build got gated directly behind a specific boss drop (Dawnstrider off Searing Exarch).

Think about that for a second:

-Spell / Caster Totems: You can start leveling with them in Act 1.

-Melee / Slam Totems: “Sorry exile, if you want your Ancestor/Slam totems back, go beat Atlas quest bosses or buy them on trade first.”

GGG Please bring Earthbreaker Support back as a regular support gem.

TL;DR: Crab totems are awesome, but spellcasters getting mobile totems while melee/slam totems require killing Searing Exarch to even exist via Dawnstrider is crazy. Bring Earthbreaker Support back to the main gem pool!

I am a long time players with a decent amount of knowledge but I am slow as hell when I play. I would like to improve things.

I have been practicing act 1 and 2, trying to shave time here and there where I can. But I have some questions:

1. I know to skip all quests that have no passive point involved but I was wondering if there are some passive point quests, I should avoid initially and come back to when I am much stronger when I can instant kill them. One that is taking me too long with my current build is Dweller of the Deep. Is it always best to just kill him early or is it ever worth while to just skip him and come back much later and insta kill him? If so, are there any other like this I should avoid and come back to?
2. The lab trials. I know if I happen to run into one, it is worth just completing it quickly, but if I make a mistake and I am on the wrong side of the map and have already found the exit, should I back track or just leave this till later when I am ready to ascend?

Note I am not speed running by any sense of the imagination. I just want to finish the campaign a little quicker. I shaved a few minutes off my act 1 time by using Shield Charge with my witch. I think in 3.29 I can add Faster Attacks to this which should help.

Any hints or tricks would be appreciated. Thank you!

Nah, they cant have too much fun

So with the new inquisitor node Instruments of Virtue I was thinking of maybe using Winter Orb with Inquisitor to try and take advantage of the high base crit and the Fanaticism buff which increases cast speed and AOE by 75% and now with 75% LESS cost. Also Battlemage but idk how effective that is nowadays.

I feel like winter orb benefits greatly from Fanaticism but idk if it’s worth the hassle of using shield charge every second to proc it even with its buff to duration and one less second to proc. How does it compete with Elementalist? What do you guys think?

The idea is to use both Storm Secret and Call of the Void along with the Shaper of Storms notable from the Elementalist ascendancy to chain Herald of Thunder and Herald of Ice from each other.

I understand that following a standard build guide would be more ideal, but I'd love to have my own creation be viable in T16s.
Right now the build is stuck at T13/14, and getting completely blasted no matter the mods on the map. Would really appreciate defensive tips, but anything that helps scale the build in general will be taken.

If needed I can go a lot more in depth about what the build is trying to accomplish and some ideas I've got planned out, but I'd love some feedback.

I know I’m late to the discussion, but since its rework, Perfect Agony no longer synergizes with the rest of the crit ailment niche.

For example, gems like Critical Strike Affliction Support become useless when using it (effectively acting as a weaker Increased Critical Damage Support), and no other nodes on the tree actually support it ( Dire Torment, ...

).

Restoring the node’s pre-rework functionality, even with adjusted values, would significantly improve the situation.

Making this post because I felt like hearing about how others ended up starting PoE. Whoever wants to join in can have a go. I'll go first.

In 2017, I ventured out to find a game that was free, no pay to win (only cosmetics) and something I can sink countless hours into. So I made the post and downloaded the standalone client. I found myself traversing along the side of the green cracks at the coast, struggling to fend off monsters coming out of the ground.

But of course, I didn't progress too far (up till act 5) as I didn't follow a guide. But didn't end up disliking the game either. Got a few of my friends to play for a few hours too. Ultimately I dropped the game after a while.

I returned in 2020 in Harvest league. Didn't get much time to play in Harvest but I remember making it to maps. Then came Heist. Made my first melee build (Flicker Strike). Holy it was cool. Cleared A8 Sirus for the first time which was the biggest accomplishment back then for me. Ever since Heist, I've been playing every league and I'm now 4000 hours into this game. I've grown to enjoy HC. Got my first level 100 character in Mirage league. Which was in HC as well.

Met a lot of cool people in the community and made some friends as well. One of the best gaming communities ever honestly.

Taking the week off and looking forward to 3.29. League start has now been one of my favorite times of the year. Happy league start to all.
