looks like the cpu supports up to 2933 MT/s for ram

and the motherboard supports up to 3200?

does this mean i can safely boost up my ram speed to anything below 2933 MT/s?

Needing some assistance, well, hoping someone who's proficient in overclocking and tuning, and is familiar with this hardware, can help me tune this new build.

I've done what I'm comfortable doing: tried EXPO II, enabled PBO, was about to set the scaler to manual and 10x, but it crashed and I had to reset CMOS. Doing a change or two, checking AIDA64 Extreme scores, Cinebench 2024, making sure there are no errors in OCCT, things like that, but my scores just seem to be 'meh' but I'm hesitant to play with BIOS settings in-depth due to my lack of experience in this area.

Hopefully there's someone who can spell out (in a book 'For Dummies' format) what setting and where, because I tried a Google search, got some bad advice, and tried ChatGPT, which caused the CMOS reset mentioned earlier. Thanks all, for any time and/or help.

Just looking for some ballpark stable settings that I could use for my Gigabyte 5070ti Windforce OC SFF. I have watched a couple of videos and all come up with different answers. I am looking to increase performance and hopefully improve thermals and power usage to some extent.

I realize it is a smaller heatsinked card and I'm not sure that the factory overclock model would change much from a full size non-OC 5070ti.

Anyone with this card or similar feel free to drop advice.

i have this old card and today i thought it would be a nice idea to put the rx 6500xt bios into it so i would get a slightly higher clock speed and underclock it too. i tried to flash it but got a subsystem id mismatch, tried to change the value with an hex editor but still the same error. does anyone know how to do it? i already backed up the original bios and i have a secondary gpu so bricking it up is not a problem as i could always flash it back

I’m looking for some thermal paste for my laptop as it’s been getting really hot of late – what would you recommend? I have an MSI Thin 15 UBC.

Can't set VDD for DRAM above 1.43V - setting even 1.435V results in a full system shutdown without even a try to train memory.

I know there have been issue's on AM5 boards just like this one but its supposed to be fixed - still cant do anything about it with newest F12b bios and older ones. There's no high voltage mode or something like that in bios setting I can find.

I asked both Patriot and Gigabyte for help - Patriot confirmed the momory kit has unlocked PMIC as listed in specifications. Gigabyte replied that any overclock isn't guaranteed and thats it.

Im satisfied with what I achieved so far but its a feature that would be nice to have for future upgrades or go tighter timings.

Does anyone now if this chips can go higher in frequency? I have them for years and never really OC'ed, just used in the XMP profile that is 3200Mhz CL16, but I discovery that the timings can be tied way down.

I'm currently using an RTX 5070 Ti SFF card that's capped at a 300W power limit. My question is: if I upgrade to a 4K monitor, would it be worth replacing it with an RTX 5080 that has a higher power limit?

The reason I'm asking is that I've read SFF cards generally have lower thermal and power headroom, which can slightly affect performance compared to larger models. However, my card has never shown temperatures higher than the values attached in the image below, and it has been performing well for my needs.

I don't have extensive knowledge about GPUs, so I'd really appreciate some advice on whether an upgrade would be worthwhile for 4K gaming, or if my current card should still be more than capable.

Wanted to share this in case it saves someone the same headache.

I've run a mild CPU overclock for about a year with no issues. Last week I got a higher-rated RAM kit and tried pushing memory speed further. Set the XMP profile, added a small voltage bump, ran a stress test, crashed within ten minutes.

Went through the usual steps. Dropped memory speed. Still crashed. Lowered voltage. Still crashed. Reverted the CPU overclock completely to rule it out. Still crashed. At this point I was sure the new kit was bad or incompatible, so I spent close to two hours adjusting timings one by one and retesting.

Then I opened the case to check the DIMM slots and noticed one stick wasn't fully seated. Not loose enough to stop booting, just loose enough to cause instability under load. Pushed it in, restored my original overclock, ran the test again. Passed clean.

Three hours of tuning for a problem that had nothing to do with settings at all.

Lesson learned: if instability shows up right after new hardware goes in, check the seating before touching any settings.

Anyone else had a "fix" turn out to be something totally unrelated to what you were actually tuning?

I bought this one used expecting hynix A-die but saldly it was just Kingston Manufactured dies(?). Anyways, been able to boot into windows while running it at 6400 mhz. Tested with y-cruncher and everyhting seems fine. Was wondering if it has any potential to reduce latency to maybe 40? Where could I find tutorials/resources to adjust voltages and latency for beginners?

I'm currently trying to overclock my PNY RTX 5070 Ti OC, and the maximum I can overclock the core speed is to +225 without crashing. It consistently crashes at 250 and beyond. This means that the highest clock speeds I see stable are the high 3100s.

I've boosted my power to 110% (that is the max), and my memory clock speeds go up to +3000 just fine. (btw it says 0 in the pic, but im actually using 3000)

Not sure how relevant this is, but the maximum wattage I saw the gpu pull was 299 W.

I'm testing all of this on Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and I'm getting between a 6-9% increase in FPS. Let me know what you think.

I think I nailed my overlock for what’s possible from a dual fan 5060. Ran a benchmark in occt for 8 hours and zero errors. I think I pushed this card to the limit

Test settings

RX 9070 XT + 9800x3d & 9950x3d2

+10% Power Limit

-190 mV undervolt

2860 MHz memory

Fast Timing enabled

I actually expected the graphics score to be the same, or maybe even slightly higher on the 9800X3D. Instead, the 9950X3D2 consistently scored higher.

Sure, it could just be normal run-to-run variance, so I repeated the benchmark around 10 times on each CPU, chasing the highest score.

The 9950X3D2 came out ahead every single time.

So I got my self a new system, RAM (Corsair vengeance ddr5 6000) CPU (Ryzen 7 9850x3d) and motherboard (Asus tuf b850e) all part of the amazing bundle from microcenter for $799. I continue to use my GPU (rx7900xt), SSD's PSU, case, etc.

I have spent the past few days on and off tweaking it, I managed to get the CPU clocks to 5,770mhz, due to undervolting the CPU temp does not go above 78.5c. I played around with RAM timings but due the RAM chips being Micron I was only able to squeeze a little out of them, the current timings they are now set to 34 40 40 56 96, fclk is set to 2100mhz.

I just ran cinebench 20261.3 and got a CPU (multiple threads) score of 5640 CPU (single core) score of 788 and a CPU (single thread) score of 578. The MP ration says 9.76x don't know how my multi thread ratio is higher than an 8 but I'll take it.

Note: might not be the best place to post this, but from my reading of the rules, it's not disallowed. I am also being intentionally vague about the benchmark becaue the project is not announced yet, and I want to break the record before that.

Hello overclockers, I am one of the people working on an open-source rust port of a java codebase. I have tried breaking the world-record myself, got close with overclocking, but didn't break the record. I am hoping someone is willing to help me break this record.

Info about the benchmark: the record is java with gpu acceleration for parts of it. Our rust solution is cpu only. The record is at 3707 with 5090 + 9950x3d. I got to around 3500 on my 9950x before reaching a point where it wouldn't post and had to reset BIOS.

It's hugely multi threaded, so more cores should do the job, or just same cpu with higher clock speeds. I never touched clockspeeds, but boosted to around 6Ghz.

Preferably someone with linux, or wsl. Wsl will slow down, and we have noticed slowdowns on same machine running linux vs windows. Also, the project will need to be built or downloaded from our github, I will help with tech support.

When project releases, we can credit the person who broke the record, we have a discord if you are interested with a thread of benchmarking results. Screenshot of the result is needed for proof.

TLDR: Need help breaking record that 9950x with slight OC couldn't beat. Tech support for running the benchmark will be provided.
