1969 rekord C Sprint Restomod

Hello everyone. Just thought I'd share my current project, a 1969 Sprint. It's a restomod as it has had some pretty rough modifications made before I bought it. Had a horrible underpowered and overweight 90bhp 2.0 ford cologne v6 in it. It now has a nice lightweight C20XE red top pushing around 180bhp through a type 9 5 speed box and custom 63mm stainless exhaust. Custom interior to replace the Lexus electric seats that came with it. New door cards. New carpets. Koni suspension all round. Custom headlights. Dash and center console to come and paint once it's all done. Great fun to drive and great to just sit and look at. It will never be fully stock again as original parts for the sprint are like hens teeth so I figured I'd make it look fast and go faster.

Technical question Changing language on MID

Thumbnail gallery
4 Upvotes

Hi guys so I've been poking around with my newly bought opel astra g and it had the MID display which sas on german, I know some phrases in german but I generaly preffer english so i scoured the internet to find a way to programm the display to english and legit found close to no answers only one post which said I needed to go to the dealer with tech2 service guy to program it for me and so i couldnt find an adequate dealer i had to do it myself(borrowed tech2 from friend)

This is the step by step guide how to change the language on opel astra g (may be aplicable to other models)

1- So select your car make and model, and after select diagnostics

2-Select Fun and entertainment systems

3-Select the module you want to program and in this case its the Multi Information display(MID)

4- go to the Index number and select it

5- Select Programming and right after index number programming

6- on the side buttons press programm and your index number in 90% of the time say 022 overwrite it with 021 to unlock english mode and after that select your language and your preffered units of measurements and you are good to go just follow screens guides

Thanks for reading and i hope it helps people with similar needs

Ibek

Technical question Opel Insigna

Hello all,

Since I was a teenager I fell in love with the Opel Insigna sedan version.

Now, it is finally in my budget to buy one.

I'm in the Netherlands, and over here in my price range, I mainly see the Insignas with the 2.0T engine.

The ones I see were build between 2009 to 2011 with a milage ranging from 150.000km to 200.000km.

Since I practically know nothing about the engine of this car, nor the quality of life of the car, my question is:

Is this engine reliable and what problems do cars from these years/mileages usually show?

Am I better off buying a different car or will this be a safe bet to buy the Insigna?

I plan to drive maybe 20km a day to and from work and every now and then a trip in the weekend containing maybe 60km total.

I appreciate any help/experiences from you guys!

Technical question Opel astra J injector issue

Sorry for my bad english. On the diagnostic it shows: Internal Control Module Fuel Injector Control Performance fault. We replaced the whole injector and programmed it. We tried to program like the fuel going into the injector but the tablet (diagnostic tool) didnt let us, although the car meet all the inquierments for programming (like the temperature, all doors closed etc). I want to know what to check and change. I wouldnt post this on reddit but there are so much parts that can be faulty that it would cost me more to fix the problem then to buy another same car. If anybody got the same problem or knows whats the problem please reply, thank you. Also it didnt happend in the video but the car went into safe mode

Memes or fun 1 year with my Corsa-e — road trip edition

Hit the one-year mark with my Corsa-e and used the milestone as an excuse to take it further than my usual commute — did a multi-day road trip along the Aegean coast.
A few owner-specific notes for anyone considering the same: range degradation after a year of regular use has been minimal (1.2%), still getting essentially the same real-world range as month one. Efficiency held up better on flatter coastal roads than I expected in summer, but hillier stretches and cold ate into it more than anything. Cabin comfort on long stretches (4+ hours) was solid, no complaints on seat support or road noise.
If anyone’s debating whether the Corsa-e can handle longer trips versus just city/commuter use, happy to answer specifics. Also put together a full video of the trip if anyone wants to see the car in action outside the usual commuter footage you see for this model.

Technical question Opel Mokka 2013 infotainment upgrade question

Hey, everyone,

I have a base model 2013 Mokka 1.6 (115 HP) Ecotec.

It came with the regular old dashboard that just shows the radio station, the one with the big red letters.

As nostalgic, as I am, about how things were 40 years ago, I would really like to upgrade to either the official infotainment package or a third party one.

I'm curious if anyone has done an upgrade like that and can recommend a good model. I'm just looking for something that doesn't have a laggy screen and has Android auto / Apple carplay wireless. A SIM slot would be a bonus, but not a requirement. I also see some options online for rear-view cameras as extras or even a 360 one, but I'm not sure how well an aftermarket one will work.

Has anyone been through this already and able to offer some good advice?

Technical question What would you recommend ?

Hey guys,
I´m currently looking to buy an Insignia but I´m honestly really torn on which gen to get.

I like both the Insignia A before and after Facelift and the Insignia B right after,
I´m looking in the same price range for all of them but I don´t know how I want to prioritize which one I should get because they all have their pros and cons and they all look good
Although the post face lift insignia a looks the nicest but the insignia b has the most potential

Technical question Opel Astra J 2015 Check engine after 2500rpm on 4th gear

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hello good afternoon, I have an Astra J 2015 1.6 CDTI which I got for the first time a check engine light after revving at 2500rpm, which I felt like something went wrong and then the car lost power, had to use maximum 5th gear for it, this problem has never happened to me, even yesterday I was able to do 4000rpm approximately on 3rd and 2800rpm on 4th (this to enter the autobahn, you either wait or hurry up if there's a truck behind), but today which was normal (I usually change between 2000 and 2500, the car did that abnormal thing and the check engine light lighted up, idk what could be, after letting it park for 3 hours I feel the car reacting like nothing happened, but the check light engine still on, on Friday since I need a oil change I will tell the mechanic to check what happened via OBD2, but anyone has faced the same issue?

Hello everyone - this is just a nice-to-be-here post.

After driving my 2006 Mazda 3 (1.4, 84hp) for 20 years and 290k kms, I bought this 2011 Astra J 1.4 140hp (180k kms).

It is in good shape for a 15 year old car, it already has a good LPG system installed (saving me the trouble to fit it myself) and I can only hope it will last me the next 5 years as well as the Mazda did... :-)

The next few days I will be adjusting to the differences between the two cars - right now, I can sum it up as "snappier, snugglier, more complicated electronics" 😋

Sifflement Opel Astra GTC (J)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Bonjour à tous, j'ai une Opel Astra GTC (J) 2.0
(165cv)

I had crash today due to bald tires which led me to crash into a hill, i was lucky to land into soft dirt.

After coming to my sense i saw white smoke coming from under the hood and it stoped.

We pulled it from earth and saw Antifreeze(coolant) coming from under the car.

How do i check if it is radiator or simply a hose and also what is this part.

UPDATE: Took it mechanic which was smart thing since almost everything behind bumper was torn and pushed torward engine. Radiator was completely cracked, fan is broken, two sensers are torn, fog light is broken, steering wheel is also shaking just a little bit. 150€ will be cost of repairs not including steering wheel, if its working i wont have it repaired.

Help me identify my screen type

Post image
13 Upvotes

Hey guys, I need some help identifying the screen on my Astra K 2019. The screen is completely dead; I can't even see anything when I shine a flashlight on it. But the radio works, and so does the navigation, which means I can see the compass. I need to find the right replacement screen size. Here's a photo of it. I'm located in Germany. I would really appreciate it if you could send me some links to where I can buy them. I don't want OEM; aftermarket is also good.

Thanks for all the help.

Have a nice day guys.
