Electrical engineering study partners/group?

I'm planning to take the Electrical FE sometime in the next several months, but moved here recently and don't know anyone. I'm employed out of college at an engineering firm and most of my coworkers are from NC State, so I figured I'd ask here.

Idc if you're in the first year of your program or last - I have quite a bit to cover and refresh since my degree wasn't EE (long story lol).

It'd be nice to chill and review topics together, maybe even do a project.

DM/reply if you're interested and I might get a Discord server going as well

Housing Valentine Commons Lease Take-Over, $615/month

Hey Wolfpack,

Me and my roommate are both looking for someone to take over our leases for Valentine Commons. The rent is $615/month and is all-inclusive. I can cover the re-letting fee as well.

The apartments are walkable from campus, have a gym, low rent, and recently refurbished. The floor plan is a 4x4, with two signed male students, so keep that mind please. I can also clarify any other doubts if you have them in the comments, or DM me. We have room for another person as well, so you can bring a friend, or not. Thank you!

Admissions Honest opinion on NCSU for AI/ML?

I keep hearing two completely different things about NCSU. Some people highly recommend it, while others say it's not the best choice if you're mainly interested in AI/ML because the curriculum leans more toward systems.

If you're currently at NCSU, what's your honest take? If you were applying today with AI/ML as your main interest, would you still choose NCSU?

Is it just me or do the "bear collection" graphics look AI-generated?

Just got an email advertising this. It's just really uncanny and some of the details are a little strange. Do you guys think it's AI? Also, one of the other designs has a cartoon teddy bear that is shiny for some reason.

Hi everyone, I recently decided to transfer schools and will not be at State anymore. I urgently need someone to take over my lease in the 4x4 and there is also another spot available if you and a friend want to join. The rent is $615 per month and I am negotiable to pay for a little as well. It is right in campus with a ton of utilities. Please share and dm me if interested!

Should I drop a class?

Incoming freshman currently enrolled in 17 credits. However, a 1 credit class may get dropped, possibly bringing me to 16 credits. Should I drop another 3 credit course? If yes, would it be better to drop an online class or an in person one? Thanks!

Someone take my lease

Hi everyone! I’m looking for someone to take over my lease for the 2026–2027 school year at Yugo Maxwell (3101 Hillsborough St., Raleigh).
The floor plan is a Derby D3 Alt 2 (4 bed / 4 bath). The best part is that only 3 people are currently assigned to the apartment including myself, so you’ll have just 2 roommates in a 4-bedroom apartment, giving everyone a little more space.
The apartment is fully furnished and includes:

Private bedroom and bathroom
In-unit washer and dryer
Full kitchen
Great location just minutes from NC State
Community amenities include:
Resort-style pool and hot tub
Large fitness center
Study rooms and resident lounge
Parking garage
Pet-friendly community

Rent is around $800/month.
If you’re interested or have any questions, feel free to send me a message

Quick Question Hunt Library

How busy and crowded does Hunt Library get during the semester? I am here for the summer and will start classes in the fall and I’ve loved hanging out in the library every day, it’s so big and there are so many different spots to study, but i am wondering if it will be much more crowded during the actual school year. Is it harder to find seats and study rooms to go into?

Would I be a competitive candidate?

I currently am heading into senior year with around a 4.0 UW taking mostly honors classes and 2 APs (4.2 weighted). I have played varsity baseball for the last 3 years of high school. I took the act and got a low score of 20 and the sat which I got a 1210 on, i’m looking to retake the sat though. Currently over the summer I have been taking 3 college classes at a local community college. They include an osha class, residential wiring, and blueprint reading. I’m top 10% in my class and i’m also in student government. With that said, i’m also in-state.

Any tips/advice would be helpful, thank you.

Can't access work study listings?

Pretty much what the title says. I was assigned work study in my financial aid and accepted, but when I go to the page in my pack portal where jobs are supposed to be listed, there's nothing there but two links to general work study information and a general disclaimer that you need to be awarded work study through the fafsa. Do I have to wait closer to semester start to access the listings? I'm going to grad school for archiving so I'd really like something related to that, but I expect those to go quickly, so I'd like to apply for listings as soon as possible.

Academics What is a good community college for Spring 2027 College Physics II in less than 14 weeks?

I recently just finished a summer College Physics I course at a local community college but I realized that College Physics II for the Spring ends just a few days before the conferral date for State. However, I saw that Records takes 2-3 weeks to process any transcripts that come in from partnered community colleges.

Do any of y'all know some good community colleges that finish up their spring term for College Physics II in less than 14 weeks(around 10 weeks if possible). It's not ideal, not taking it sequentially at the same institution, but I'd rather graduate on time. Thanks!

Jobs

I'm going to be living off campus next year and my refunds aren't going to cover all of my rent. I applied for a few on campus jobs and I'm worried sick over when they're going to get back to me (if they ever do).

I can't drive and I have a few medical issues that pretty much makes it impossible for me to do any job with heavy customer service interaction, a loud/overstimulating environment, or anything in the heat (which includes outside), so I'm extremely limited to what jobs I can even apply for. I've looked through other jobs that are close to campus but all of them are either full time or involve something that I mentioned I can't deal with.

Am I just screwed?? I don't know what to do.
