These are all out in Georgia (Southeastern USA). There's been more but these are my favorites in the week since I've moved in!!! We're right by a lot of woods so I guess they like to hang out in the bright hallways at night. They're gorgeous! I want to pin one eventually, if I find a dead one.

I hand raised these little guys with every intention on setting them free once hatched unfortunately it’s one has hatch in winter and I believe there meant to hatch in October~January but I guess the heat pump confused it 🧐

It’s a bitter sweet moment i have mixed feelings because obviously it’s too cold to release and it won’t find a mate but is beautiful and rewarding

I’m unsure what to do to do 😅

found this dude outside the house on the grill cover, about 2-3ish inches i think? i usually only see tinier moths this time of year, it’s my first time seeing one this large.

I live in Ontario and I'm hoping they're not an invasive species 😬

poor guy has been lethargic, looks quite worn, found around 12 am today, keycap for scale

tons of moths around in isle royale last week! not sure if the smokey conditions contributed to seeing so many or if it was just the right time

I found this moth about a year ago and pined it for a personal project just for fun. But could never get an ID. Im using it in my 4-H project and am required to have a Id.

It was found in SouthWest Colorado closer to Farming New Mexico but on the Colorado side.. I know its a female because it layed eggs on my bedroom floor before passing away. Its about an inch and a half long and the wing span is about 3inchs. Soild grey, minum patterns.

Found this guy/girl/they moth on our patio in SW Florida. Any thoughts on ID? TIA!

this girl has been clinging to the wall in a parking garage for the past several days. I assumed she was dead because she hadn’t moved in days. today i thought if she’s still there maybe I’ll try to take her home and see if i can preserve her??

so today i took a plastic cup to try and scoop her up. but as i did so she seemed to like… tense away from the cup? She didn’t fly away, and she’s still in the same spot. but she seemed to react a little. so idk if she’s alive but in torpor or some equivalent, or if she’s dead and it was just the cup pushing at her weirdly. how do i tell?

and if she is dead should i go forward with taking her? and what can i do with her in that case?
