About new customer eligibility

Upvotes

Hi all,

I ordered a new pixel 10 phone with the new deal today from the website. It is 149+180(for an unlimited plan for 12 months). My concern is that I ported out of Mint a month ago as I'm getting a good deal with my home internet plan. I didn't read the full fine print but it says new customer only. Can I still port in to Mint using my old number or will it flag saying that I'm not a new customer?

Note that I have 45 days to activate but it'll still be less than 90 days since I ported out.

Thanks in advance.

Issues with Sim shipping

Upvotes

Sooooo I purchased 2 Sim card kits with 3 month plans over a week ago. Order still hasn't shipped been told multiple times that orders are currently backed up. It should be shipped next day. We'll here we are several days later no shipping info or anything so I decided to message an actual agent and got the run around the whole time. One said they aren't sure where my order is, the other recommended a refund and repurchase the same plan and Sims. She assured me it would ship very shortly after I repurchased them. Wth? So I got an email after ranting to them a bit. The email just stated we are sorry for taking so long on your order we will update ypu as soon as the order has an update. What's so hard about grabbing 2 Sim cards throwing them in an envelope and shipping them out? I needed these Sims before my vacation next week but doesn't seem its gonna happen. Is anyone else having issues? I dont understand why my order is off in lala land and no one seems to care about it. Might juast be me.....

Worth switching from T-Mobile?

Hey there, I am currently on a family members T-mobile unlimited plan. It's great, but lately I've been thinking about getting a flip phone for work since I hate getting work calls on my personal phone, on my days off, etc. I am thinking of switching to Mint Mobile since the prices seem good, and from everything I've read online, the service in NJ and NYC also seems good (I live in NJ, work in NYC).

Would it be worth switching? The company I work for gives their employees a certain amount of money per month for our phone bills, and from what I've seen that amount would cover both phones and I'd still get to pocket some of it. Just wondering if anyone has a plan with 2 or more phones and if it's worth it? Thank you!!

Want to switch internet from T-Mobile.

I want to switch my internet from T-Mobile to Mint. When I check my address in Mint it says service not available, probably because I already have T-Mobile at my address. I called customer service and they said there is no way to override. Is there any way to switch or am I just stuck keeping T-Mobile?

I'm existing customer, what starter kit to buy if I ever need a new sim?

So i just started carrying a spare phone on vacations and wondering what starter kit would i need for the spare phone if something happened to my primary phone? You know, pop in a new sim into spare phone and get back up + running with my regular service. I see they have mint prepaid kits but that confuses me because i have a regular plan already that i use. But is that the sim kit I would need ? I think they're only like $2 at best buy or target. Sims expire if unused, correct? Otherwise I'd have a spare sim in advance too.

Will a new device from mint unlock if I switch the SIM?

My understanding is that the device unlocks after 60 days. My question is: do I have to use my Mint line in this device for the entire 60 days? What if I activate it and then swap the SIM to a different device and leave the new device unused? Will it still get unlocked automatically when the time is up?

Anyone else get a new bill with price increase 9 months into annual contract?

My daughter paid $180 in October 2025 for 1 year of MintMobile. She received a notice from them in early July that she owed $270 on July 23rd for her next years service. She checked with them through app and 800 number and it seems legit. How can they do that? Anyone else receive similar new bill?

We thought it might be scam but all indications and contact with Mint seem to make it legitimate.

Thanks!

Mint still sent phone when I canceled

Hi there, I purchased a phone through mint website and canceled it within 12 hours. I talked to three agents and they all assured me it won’t be shipped since the cancellation process is already initiated. But yesterday I got an email from the carrier saying the item has been shipped and will arrive on Wednesday. What should I do?

I am trying to swap my Mint Mobile service to a new phone, but I cannot access my old device to receive the 6-digit SMS verification security code. Because of this, I am completely locked out of the app and self-service transfer options.

Could you please help me bypass the SMS security check and issue a replacement SIM?

msg me and please help me work this out thank you :)

Behind the scenes magic in progress Endless cycle

Bought an unlocked Moto phone and am trying to add mint mobile to it. Inserted the SIM got to the activation part after adding a zip code and now I'm stuck in an endless cycle.

I have tried letting it sit for 2 hours and all it did was freeze the little racoon + hint to a static one.

I tried restarting my phone.

This is the only SIM this phone has ever seen and I have confirmed in the system settings only the mint mobile is there.

Any help?

Stop blocked numbers from leaving voicemails

I've been bombarded with spam voicemails from numbers that I have blocked. Does Mint have a way to stop this from happening? Every other day I have to delete about 10 plus messages. At first it was one particular number about once a month, but lately it's been increasing to a ridiculous amount.

***Thanks for your suggestions, everyone. Unfortunately, I do need to listen to voice mails as I have older family members and doctor's offices that still use VM. I guess that's why companies aren't that invested in creating an option to stop blocked numbers from leaving them.

going to school in canada

my son is going to school in canada, my understanding is mint has unlimited talk and text with with 3gb roaming data, my thought is to change the current plan from unlimited to the smallest (5gb data) and then just purchase 10gb add on every month if needed He'll be on campus most of the time, wifi. He'll be at UTotonto st george campus does this seem feasable or would if be better cheaper to get a canada plan

Mint Service Outage

Hey all!

I renewed my service this morning, but it didn't come back on. After I called mint, they said they were in an outage and that it would be a few hours. As of this post, thanks to office wifi, it's still down.

Anyone got any news on how long the outage will last?

Do I need to be physically in the US to switch?

So, I am currently on Metro and would like to switch my number to Mint. I'm not currently physically in the US and would like to save some money monthly. Would being physically outside the US while switching cause any issues or could I just go port my number?

30/mo internet + phone bundle?

Last week I saw a deal that said "UNIFI your bills 5g home internet + unlimited phone plan for $30/mo for 12 months"

Now I can't find the same plan and when I go back to the original link it says "cookies aren't enabled" and won't let me access this promo price. I contacted live chat and nobody seems to know this promo ever existed. This was on the official Mint Mobile website too not a targeted promo or anything. What happened????

Mint mobile vs Visible by Verizon

So I have been on Visible by Verizon and overall I am happy with the coverage however I’ve been looking at Mint mobile because their plan is about 20 bucks cheaper a month and right now in this economy I’m trying to save as much as I can. Are there any HUGE differences between the two carriers that I should consider? I do know that Mint mobile runs off of T-Mobile‘s network. I’m not thrilled about it, but where I live in Arizona I’m not that thrilled with Verizon either. I’m more so concerned about how the plan works internationally. I do travel at least twice a year out of the country and I used the Visible global pass for my last trip and had no problems. Also the unlimited hotspot coverage and how that has worked out. Thanks for any tips & feedback !!

Unlock phone fast way ( help )

So here’s the situation: about two months ago, I bought a plan that came with a phone. I didn’t need the device myself, so I thought it’d make a great gift for a relative overseas. Shipping wasn’t cheap, but I was so excited to see their reaction when they opened it.

Fast forward to delivery day – and my excitement quickly turned to frustration. The phone was network-locked. They messaged me over Wi-Fi to let me know they couldn’t activate it. The rage I felt in that moment… I'd imagined this wonderful surprise, and instead, they got a phone they couldn't even use as a phone.

I’ve since calmed down, but the process hasn’t been smooth. I reached out to Mint Mobile, and they opened a ticket and escalated the issue. That was 72 hours ago. In that time, I’ve received zero updates. How hard can it be to press a button and unlock a phone? They already have my proof of purchase and all the info they need. What’s the hold-up?

I even mentioned in my email that if this isn’t resolved soon, I’d be filing an FCC complaint. A supervisor promised to call me when they had an “update,” but I haven’t heard anything yet. Is there anyone with real authority who can speed this up?

UPDATE – after hours of calls and multiple supervisors:

· Spoke to 5 different supervisors and spent over 8 hours on hold total. · The first few supervisors were unhelpful – some didn’t even know how to use their own internal tools. · The 4th supervisor suggested I buy an eSIM and said they’d refund me once the phone was unlocked. · The 5th supervisor was a game-changer – he clearly explained the entire unlock process, which no one else could do. Previous reps just kept repeating the “60-day policy” without actually helping.

Here’s the real kicker: The 5th supervisor had me disable Wi-Fi calling on the website, wait 10 seconds, and then re-enable it. That allowed him and his specialist to see the device connected in their system – and they unlocked it right away.

Key takeaways:

· Level 1 agents were useless – a complete waste of time. · Specialists weren’t much better – kept insisting on a physical SIM when an eSIM was the solution. · Most supervisors lacked knowledge or refused to dig deeper. · The last two supervisors were outstanding – knowledgeable, responsive, and actually solved the problem. The final one even gave me his direct email for follow-ups. Huge respect to him.

Final thoughts: The phone is now overseas and fully unlocked – as it should have been from the start. These companies really need to stop locking phones unless they’re being financed. This entire ordeal could’ve been avoided.

Highly Disappointed with the delivery speed

For the context, I'm a tourist who's in states for a few months. I've ordered mint mobile physical Sim kit on 11th July and still hasn't received any updates or emails. Moreover, there's no information available on the website upon checking my status. I don't know if they are even processing the order or not. The fact is I'm left without any data plan which is affecting my daily travel as I'm clueless about the local places or transportation. Can anyone help me what can I do to get it resolved?

I’ve been with TMobile for a few years. I keep thinking of switching to Mint but I’m scared to

I know many have good stories but I’ve also met a few who had bad experiences with Mint and can’t ever get customer service. that’s what I don’t want. I’m tired of paying $80 a month (after discount, otherwise it would be $100 a month) with Tmobile but at least I have 24 hour help if needed.

but I am in NYC and know Mint works well here.
