I’m still very new to making miniatures, so please no critiques, I’m just doing it for fun!

I really wanted to try making some cute bottles for a dollhouse I’m building! I used a combo of seed beads, regular beads, pins, and glue! I’m very happy with how they came out, I imagine it’s more like an “Avon” type set of antique bottles for the house.

Hey guys! I posted these mini stanchions I made a few years ago and have gotten a lot of messages on how to make them. I wanted to share the info in a post, so everyone can make their own!

The body of them is just a bolt, I did cut the threads off the bolt so I was left with a smooth ‘pole’ portion.

Once I did that I got 2 flat washers for the base and used a finish washer over the flat ones for the rounded part of the base. I used 2 different sizes (see photos) of flat washers.

Then the top really was just a bead I glued on with wire that I curved at the end for the hook part.

For the velvet rope part I took velvet material, rolled it and then glued end caps to them. Before I glued them though I took a head pin, put it through the end cap and looped it to make the loop to attach to the hook part

If you didn't have a saw to cut the ends off a metal bolt you could probably just use a wooden dowel rod that is the same diameter as the washers / nut & paint it silver.

I use air dry clay (Das brand) - not yet interested in polymer as I find the baking factor off putting. Constructive criticism is welcome. Any comments really.

So I’ve been working on a Chaise for a plushie of mine, and I figured you guys might be able to help. I found these legs on a plush couch at a store that are perfect but I don’t wanna detach them or spend the 30 dollars on the entire couch. Does anyone know anywhere I can purchase these? They’re made of metal and roughly an inch and a half, which is perfect, but I don’t know where to look for them. Is it possible to get them individually? If this isn’t allowed please take down I just really need something similar enough.

I’m attending the National Assn of Miniature Enthusiasts convention for the first time, and made these for a 1:24 scale swap. 13 of them and about 190 books! I sketched out the item and my son designed and 3d printed it. First time “mass” producing something and I learned a lot. I hope the recipients like them!

° -Pink Taco- made with air-dry clay (Aura Clay ®️), strawberries (FIMO ®️), and whipped cream, plus little crumbs from one of the Miniverse Easter sets—they go perfectly with everything. I'll incorporate the dinosaur into the design in the future.

I made this today! I literally came up with all of this randomly, so I could have saved time by googling. However, I think a huge part of my mini love is in the problem solving of mini making itself. 😊

Steps shared below if you’re interested! 1/12 scale.

Coconuts: white polymer clay cane wrapped in brown clay. Ball tool inside, then roughed up the edges/outside for texture and marked the inside white part with a needle tool before baking.

Straws are twisted polymer clay, and I bought the fruit pieces online. Cream colored UV resin for the “milk,” and the “hair” is (believe it or not) a piece of pale colored twine. I pulled it apart as much as I could, until every piece of string was visible, then dipped my fingers in watered down brown paint and very lightly brushed the twine to color it. Once it dried, I cut it into small pieces, coated the outside of the coconut in watered down tacky glue, and rolled it in the cut up twine pieces.

The tray is a Gatorade top that I lined with air-dry clay then painted brown. The sticks on the side are actually dried flower stalks, lmao. Wire and another dried stalk for the handles, paper for the top of the tray.

Glue on coconuts and bam! A perfect piece to add to your beach scene. Happy making! 🥰

Ich habe ein Miniaturhaus- Bauset und versuche seit Wochen die Türen (dünne Holzstäbe) und die Träger (auch dünne Holzstäbe) festzukkeben - und nichts hält. Ich habe Vielzweckkleber versucht, den ich auch für die Möbel genutzt habe, sowie Sekundenkleber, Holzleim und klein geschnittene Klebestreifen - Hat jemand einen Tipp?

kits because i want a cool little alleyway or storefront to integrate into my shelf display. on the box, they look incredibly detailed and handmade, but i'm highly skeptical.

whenever i look closely at the materials, it seems to be mostly thin printed paper and laser-cut plywood. my main worry is that under normal, boring room lighting, the paper parts are going to look incredibly flat and the wood edges will look like laser cut.

i've tried scratch-building a tiny bookshelf before, but getting the scaling right without templates is a nightmare. but if i buy a kit, will it just look like a cheap toy once it's put together?

how realistic do finished miniature kits look when they aren't professionally lit and photographed for Instagram? do you guys have to heavily paint and weather them to make them believable, or do they look decent right out of the box?

i've been looking for something cool to put on my shelves and i keep seeing these tiny DIY kits online.

some are listed as book nooks and others are called miniature houses. they both just look like tiny wooden rooms with LED lights to me, but the prices and tool kits are super different.

what actually is the difference between a book nook and a miniature house conceptually? is it just the shape and where you put them, or are there different design rules and building materials involved?
