Thoughts on value of this Daredevil #16 (1966)?

Post image

Howdy all! I’ve been eyeing this Daredevil #16 that features the first appearance of John Romita Sr’s Spider-Man at a local collectibles store and have been going back and forth on whether the $200 tag for the condition is worth it. Going off previous sales the price isn’t outrageous but there is some pretty noticeable damage on the cover. I don’t buy with plans to re-sell in the future so I know regardless I’ll love having this in my collection but I also don’t want to spend more than I need to for the quality the book is in. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Can somebody please tell me the correct reading order of the Hickman Ultimate universe in COLLECTED terms? The only posts I can find talk about single issues and it's just confusing me. Please help.

Dark Avengers: Reborn (Day 5, Thor)

Post image
Upvotes

Norman Osborn is back, and with him the Dark Avengers are back, but who will play the roles of these men who disguise themselves under some of the most famous faces of our heroes?

The rules are few, no character must have been part of the former formations, they must not be copies but represent the soul of the dark avengers and the heroes from whom they stole the role.
Will Norman be able to rebuild his team?

(And if everything will be filled with a good number of interactions, other members could arrive)

SCHEDULE
Day 1: Hulk = Rhino
Day 2: Capitan america = William Burnside
Day 3: Ironman = Ezekiel Stane
Day 4: Spider-Man = Chamaleon
Day 5: Thor = ?
Day 6: Black Widow
Day 7: Hawkeye
Day 8: Wolverine
Day 9: Ant-Man
Day 10: Wasp
Day 11: Luke cage
Day 12: Capitan Marvel

Why Daredevil comic books were never canceled during the 1960’s/1970’s?

I wonder why Daredevil comic books never got canceled during the 1960’s or early 1970’s. I heard that these were never bestsellers until Frank Miller took up the run. I also read a few early Daredevil issues, and some of them are pretty good but majority of them seemed directionless.

So, why Daredevil never got canceled? If X-Men were canceled in 1970, why Daredevil kept being released?

Who is who in this picture?

This page shows marvel characters from Camelot and most are named but others aren't I would guess that the others are common characters from Arthurian legend (like Lancelot or something), but i haven't been able to verify on visuals alone because this comic is somewhat recent so even if they are supposed to be those characters it's hard to compare to their very old looks in earlier comics. Please let me know if you can fill in the blanks or if I'm inaccurate on the ones I've already written below

1.King Arthur 2.Cai Hir 3.Feirefiz 4.Bedwyr 5.Apatheia 6.Menw 7.? 8.The Grim Huntress 9.Mordred 10.? 11.? 12.Merlin

Made it to Uncanny X-Men #22 (63') and I'm just not sure what to do

Hello good people of reddit, I was wanting to do a complete X-Men read through from the beginning and I'm just not sure if I wanna continue. I don't read many comics but this is my first time giving any a run through but so far I kinda find some of these stories lacking in depth, the stakes could not be lower and most of the characterization have been one note. We're still in the silver age and I'm not saying I gotta see blood or someone has to be dying every issue but they never go into anything where I'm convinced the X-Men won't come out just fine. The most interesting characters are definitely Professor X/Cyclops/Jean Grey and follow behind a little bit by the beast, Iceman and The Angel just feel out of place to me in these stories and don't really appear to have much depth to them at all besides this and getting girls when the professor lets them all off the leash for a short lived vacation since a threat inveitably comes as soon as they do. Standouts so far have usually been some of the Magneto stuff and I know he gets a thorough backstory later but he's kind've just been mutant Hitler as well as when they fight Juggernaut the first time and the Sentinels first arc. Does this part of the run get better or should I go ahead and jump to Giant Size X-Men? I was using the X-Men Ultimate Reading order for reference.

man I do love Steve and Tony, they have such a interesting dynamic, anyways share your thoughts on this drawing! also I think the proportions on cap could’ve been a bit better if I am being honest, his arm should’ve been longer, or am I tripping?

Please recommend me titles or runs to catch up with the best of Doctor Doom before Doomsday

Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I love comics but mostly I’ve read DC comics and what I know of Doom is just from a couple of events (Original Secret Wars and the latest one) but I know his Lore is so much more.

Please recommend what you think would be a good read of his greatest stories in different runs (either his own title or in other heroes books).

Thanks in advance!

What happens if Rogue holds onto Mister Immortal and doesn't let go?

Won't she just permanently become immortal, but then he would just wake up right after dying anyway?

Unless there is something I'm missing, why doesn't she just do this?

Same with the healing factor people. If she absorbs them into a deep coma, like she did Ms Marvel and permenantly gains the healing factor, they'd just heal back to 100%, right? So why not do this?

And, last question. If Rogue absorbs Multiple Man, and then makes another copy of herself, then the two copies touch each other, what happens?

Haven’t read Marvel since Hickvengers!

Although I’m more of a DC reader, I have been wanting to read Marvel but don’t know what’s worth checking out. I have a broad knowledge of most things Marvel, Bendis’ Avengers era was my jam growing up and I’ve read all of Uncanny from Claremont to Gillen, but it’s been spurts since for the greater universe overall.

I’ll take ANY recommended runs for ANY character/group that y’all would graciously suggest. Thanks!

Spider-Man Comic Recommendations?

Hi, first time on this subreddit, and I will be asking probably one of the most redundant questions ever. As the Title says – I’d like to get into reading the Spider-Man Comics and I’d like to ask for your general Spider-Man Comic recommendations for a beginner.

Now I do want to premise that the first Comic run I am interested in first is Amazing Fantasy #15 & the original Stan Lee/Steve Ditko ASM run since I’d like to see the VERY beginning of my personal favourite Superhero.

However beyond that, I am completely free for any recommendations. They can be from any era or any Artist(s) it doesn’t really matter.

You can even recommend a comic that I should personally read first over the Stan Lee/Ditko run that would be a bit easier to get into if you’d like. I just really want to get into things Spider-Man related beyond the Movies, TV series, and Games and not make myself look like a “poser” if that makes any sense.
