[Announcement] Impersonator Scam Warning - Please Read

There is a long-time impersonator scammer who has decided to come back and pull the same scam again. They create usernames that look extremely similar to real sellers’ usernames. In some cases, one single letter can make the difference.

Before buying anything, double and triple check that the user contacting you is the actual seller from the selling thread.

If a “seller” contacts you first, check the profile carefully. Under their username, you may see signs such as very low karma and that the account has only been a Redditor for 1–2 hours. That is not the same as the real seller, who will usually have their actual posting history, karma, and account age.

Do not rely only on messages or chats sent to you first. The safest way is to contact the seller directly from their selling thread instead.
Please also take the time to read through the rules. They are there to protect buyers and reduce the chance of scams.

And if you are too lazy to read all the rules, then follow this one single rule:

Always use PayPal Goods & Services. No exceptions.

It does not matter how many trade counts a seller has. We have had sellers with 70–99 confirmed trades decide to go silent after transactions. Trade count helps, but it does not guarantee safety.

If something feels off, suspicious, or too good to be true, report it to the mods right away so we can look into it and assist before anyone gets scammed.
Protect yourself. Verify the username carefully. Check the account age and karma. Contact sellers from the original selling thread. Use PayPal Goods & Services every time.

Reddit Filter Removing Posts

Hey everyone,

We want to address an issue that several users have recently reported: posts being removed shortly after being submitted.

What’s happening

In many of these cases, the removals are not being done by [r/mangaswap](r/mangaswap) moderators. Instead, they are being triggered by Reddit’s automated spam/filter system.

Here’s how you can usually tell the difference:

If a mod removed your post:

You will receive a message or notification explaining why the post was removed and what needs to be fixed.

Most of the time the solution is simple—edit your post to fix the rule violation and reply to the modmail so we can re-approve it.

If you did NOT receive any communication from [r/mangaswap](r/mangaswap):

Your post was most likely removed by Reddit’s automated filters, not by us.

Unfortunately, when that happens mods cannot see or control why Reddit removed it, and we do not have the ability to override or adjust Reddit’s filtering system.

What we’re doing

We are currently talking with moderators from other subreddits to gather more information and see if they are experiencing the same issue or have found any patterns.

This appears to be a broader Reddit-side issue, meaning it would ultimately need to be addressed by Reddit admins, and there is no clear timeline for when or if it will be resolved.

Things you can try in the meantime

If your post keeps getting removed without a mod message, you can try the following:

1. Run your post text through ChatGPT or another tool

Sometimes certain words or formatting can trigger automated filters.

2. Check whether your account is shadowbanned

You can search online for Reddit shadowban check tools.

3. Review your account activity

If you’ve had reports or removals in other subreddits, that can sometimes affect Reddit’s automated filtering.

4. Wait before reposting

If everything looks fine but your post is still removed, try waiting about a week before posting again to see if the filter resets.

Final note

At the moment, this is all the information we have available. Since the removals are coming from Reddit’s systems, we unfortunately don’t have the ability to change or bypass them from the subreddit side.

We’ll continue gathering information and will update the community if we learn anything new.

You're allowed to have 1 post every 2 days. Using alternate accounts on this subreddit will lead to a ban without warning.

Accounts must be over 14 days old and have positive combined karma (15+) to post in the sub.
Keep a paper trail. We request that you don't delete your previous threads for at least 2 months.
- Please preserve prices after an item has sold.
No submissions that aren't buy/sell/trade. There will be a Q&A megathread every month.
No "thread crapping".
- If you don't like someone's prices then don't say anything.
- Do not attempt to undercut someone in someone else's thread. Just make your own thread.
- Do not start a bidding war. If someone commented before you and an agreement was made it's theirs.
All giveaways must be approved by a mod.
- Items being sold at the cost of shipping are "free" and do not require approval.
All items sold/traded must comply with the permitted merchandise list. -Only Officially Licensed Merchandise allowed.

Posting Format

In order to keep posts consistent and easy to understand, please use the following format when posting. Please read the "Book Grading" section before posting as well.

All items, prices, and pictures must be included in the text post. No posting the aforementioned in the comments.

In your post title please include the following:

[Country]; [US], [CA], [EU], etc.
- Must be two letters (with the exception of USA).
[Selling], [Buying], or [Trading]
- Example: [US] [Selling] Berserk, One Piece, Naruto, etc.
Post title must be ordered [country] [post type].
Use brackets []; normal parenthesis () or braces {} will be filtered.

Book Grading

One person's idea of a book's condition may differ from another's so to keep things consistent when selling books please use the guide below to give buyers a better idea of the condition your items are in. Note: if you have a large amount of books for sale you can let buyers know the grade of the books as they ask about them instead of all at once.

G5: Pages and cover are intact and not marred by notes or folds. It is pristine, as if it was new. Might have been read once.

G4: Pages and cover are intact and not marred by notes or folds. The spine and cover has no creases, just minor shelf wear. Might have minor yellowing or a remainder mark and should be listed if so. Hardcovers might have dinged corners and should be listed if so.

Example

G3: All pages and cover are intact and not marred by notes. The book looks and feels old, the edges are very yellow, the cover is no longer smooth and may show signs of wear or have very minor folds on some of the pages inside but no creases on the covers or spines. Might have a security tag inside the book and should be listed if so. Might have a retail sticker on the back and should be listed if so. Might have been exposed to tobacco smoke and should be listed if so.

Example

G2: All pages and the cover are intact, but the spine or cover may be damaged with a tear or creases. Might have a retail sticker on the front and should be listed if so. Might have sun damage (faded colors on the covers/spine) and should be listed if so. Might have been exposed to tobacco smoke and should be listed if so.

Example

G1: water damage and any damage that prevents reading, such as a missing page or markings that obscure some text. Any part of the cover is missing. Might be a ex-library copy. Might have been exposed to tobacco smoke and should be listed if so.

G0: It looks like a dog shredded it and there's literally no reason to buy this outside of novelty.
