Do I need to replace the keycaps on my new to me M1 Pro MacBook Pro 16 or I am too sensitive!?

I'm trying to figure out if this is just my Mac or if others have noticed something similar.

I have a MacBook Pro M4 Pro (Purchased in April 2025). On Sequoia, the battery life felt noticeably better. After updating to Tahoe, it feels like I'm getting less battery backup even when charging to 100%.

The other thing that surprised me is battery health. My mac stayed at 100% for almost a year, then dropped to 99%. After updating to Tahoe and enabling the 80% charge limit, it went from 99% to 97% in about 10-12 days (On 10 July it dropped to 98 and today I noticed it was 97)

I know battery health is only an estimate, so I'm not claiming Tahoe damaged the battery. I'm just wondering if anyone else has seen:

• noticeably worse battery life after updating to Tahoe
• battery health dropping faster than before
• or if this is just a coincidence or recalibration

It would be helpful to know whether you're using the 80% charging limit too (I started using it after Tahoe and now my mind is going "should we blame Tahoe or 80% charging limits" xD). I just regret upgrading to Tahoe because it looks worse and drains battery much faster too

I left my bottle unlocked in my bag and water had spilled and had gotten on my macbook Pro M4. I dont know what to do right now, theres black blotches on the screen and it keeps on turning off. is my mac dead for good and its time to get a new one or can i salvage it??

Getting a refurbished Macbook Pro M1 Pro (16gb ram), 512 GB storage) at 60,000 INR (OR $620-630)(after exchanging my old laptop). Is It worth it to buy this in 2026 considering this would be my laptop for everything for the next 4 years of my college. The only concerns I have are battery life and heating issue...so if someone who has this same laptop, can u pls comment on these issues. Also, considering the recent price hike I think this is the best option for this price?? Pls give some advice...I really need a new laptop asap for college!!!

Does many users have this problem during using your space gray mac?

For some context, I'm an incoming first year architecture student. I already have a pretty good Lenevo Legion, which I will definitely use to run programs like Photoshop, Revit, Rhino, etc. I would use it as my main laptop, however it's battery life is terrible (2-3 hours because I currently use it as a desktop, plugged in 24/7), it's pretty heavy, and it gets VERY loud running those programs.

I'm thinking of getting a second laptop (macbook) for stuff like notetaking, running simple programs (maybe photoshop, editing programs), and just casual use for bringing it to lectures and stuff.

I'm debating between the Air and Neo mainly because of longevity. I think the Neo would definitely be able to hold up running basic programs, but I'm worried it won't last me throughout my bachelor's and master's. I think the Air may be a better investment in the long run, but I'm not sure.

Which one would be better for my situation?

Can you guys recommend any creative apps or fun games for it? Or ways I can improve the software experience?

Appeared yesterday, did all the tests but stayed there, it won't appear on an external display. Macbook m5 pro. Anyone had this same problem ?

I will be using my dad's mac for college next month. I have no problems using it but there's some notification that recommend me to update. However, when I ask my dad about it he said that the seller tells him to just ignore them. It was bought in 2021/2022 I think. I will use the mac mainly for typing in notes and watch youtube. Is updating worth it? Will it deletes files when updating? (Because my dad still save his work files here) IDK anything about tech so yeah

Hey folks! It's my first time around here as I have been a lifetime windows user and I have finally given up on windows and am looking to switch to a macbook.

Deals I am getting.

1. MacBook Air M5 24GB 1TB in midnight colour at ₹182k ($1886). This includes 3 years of AC+ (Since it's the old MRP stock they won't sell without it).

2. MacBook Pro M5 16GB 1TB in silver colour at ₹205k ($2124). No AC+ here.

My use case.

I am in my second year of MBA in finance. In terms of productivity I don't intend to push it to its limits. But I play games, I know I shouldn't be getting a Mac but I just don't want windows anymore and need something to last me 8-10 years (hopefully). I would play the native titles like Cyberpunk as well as through Crossovers. Will the fan on the pro make a significant difference in gaming?

Also I currently own an Asus laptop with a top end 2k OLED, so the Air display would be a noticeable downgrade.

In my research Air would suffice for me, but would gaming be a better experience on MBP?

Also the midnight colour I've heard is a fingerprint magnet, how difficult is it to manage?

So help me decide please, should I save the money or go for pro?

Hi, does anyone know how long education macbook purchases are taking to be fulfilled right now? I didn't place the order, and the people who did apparently can't follow up and check, so I'm trying to get a rough idea so I can make plans. It's a 14" macbook pro.

I'm looking to get a new 2026 MacBook Air, and I came across the option to trade in an old device.

I have a 13-inch early 2015 MacBook Air (very old, i know) that still works normally, just a poor battery life. When I entered the serial number it said "Your device is ready to recycle.". Does this mean it can only be recycled and not traded in for value?

I was also thinking of selling it on a third-party website, but I honestly don't know how anyone would want this old of a device.

Should I recycle it or try and sell it?

Im mixed between a macbook m1 air 16 mem, m2 air 8 and a neo. Assume storage is 256 gigs for all. I am not looking to spend over 500 on eBay. Battery life is a big deal for me and I am also looking to emulate switch games. Need it to hold up for 4 years clearly.

even macbook has good ram control technology.

I understand it has been asked before but I couldn't find the answers I was looking for, specifically for my specific case as most of the cases have had significant amount of alcohol/tea/other liquids spilled on it.

I accidentally dropped one tablespoon of beer on my right speaker grill. It went on the speaker grill and a little on the keys. I cleaned it with a microfiber cloth i turned it off and set it in tent position, although no alcohol came out of anywhere. Now after over 24 hours, I turned it on and it seems to be working fine. The shift key and the enter key are sticky but seem to be working. No other keys are sticky. The sound from the speaker seems to be the same as before, I don't hear any weird noises that might indicate any damage or beer inside it.

Now I don't know how much beer went inside the speaker grill, they're so tiny but of course i'm pretty sure something must have gone inside. Should I get it opened up and cleaned for possible damages? And should I do it at a local shop or official apple support? I have the normal apple warranty (not applecare+). What would be the rough estimate cost of the repair, how soon should i repair it, and most importantly, will my laptop be fine in long term, I don't want it to die on me because of my stupid mistake, I just got this baby. Learned my lesson the hard way to not drink around expensive devices.

I want to buy a MacBook Air M5 but I am really confused these days. I am a student who has just completed undergrad and taking a drop year before Postgrad and want to learn coding (from very basic level) and might do a little DJing when I have no work or maybe a little gaming (no hardcore gaming, just playable fps).
I get kinda scared and confused when people say that MacBooks are very fragile and the screen might break or the hinge might get fked up or something.
Are they really that fragile? I am gonna use this for a little bit of accounting as well for my father’s business and this laptop will face quite some dust and stuff.
Should I get Apple Care? I mean it’s like spending quite a buck for that but maybe if it’s that fragile then I might need it.
Need advice from long term mac users.

I’m trying to choose the right MacBook Pro 16-inch with the M5 Pro chip, and I don’t want to regret my decision later.
I’m a very hardworking person, and I plan to keep this laptop for at least 10–12 years. My biggest concern is deciding how much RAM and SSD storage I should get.
Right now, I don’t even know how to edit videos in Final Cut Pro, but I want to learn. Besides that, my typical use will be watching YouTube, streaming movies, browsing the web, working with documents, and doing some photo and video editing.
The two configurations I’m considering are:
24 GB RAM + 2 TB SSD – around €3,950
48 GB RAM + 4 TB SSD – around €5,700
The price difference is significant, but I’m worried that choosing 24 GB of RAM and 2 TB of storage might make me regret it in a few years.
For storage, I also want to keep my media library on the Mac itself. I estimate I’ll have around 200 movies (about 400–600 GB total), plus 3–4 TV series (around 60 GB each). My documents, photos, and personal files currently take up about 50 GB.
My question is: Will 24 GB of RAM be enough for the next 10–12 years, considering my planned use, or is it worth spending the extra money for 48 GB? And is 2 TB of SSD storage enough, or should I invest in 4 TB from the start?

I bought the macbook neo at the start of last month, is anyone else having quality issues? The spacebar key popped off, which isn't that bad as you can just connect a keyboard to it. I haven't been rough with it, I've used it for light gaming, having a minecraft server with some friends, and otherwise been using it for word documents/spreadsheets, video streaming, emails, and web browsing. I've used iphones for the past 15 years and they have all had no issues at all, but this seems very unlike apple. I purchased it through amazon, could that have impacted it at all? Is anyone else having similar issues? Did I just get really unlucky with my model? Other than this the computer has been amazing.

I cant decide if i should get a windows laptop or not. a bunch if stuff i have read is that mac isnt bad but some stuff is windows exclusive or may just run better on windows. should i get a windows laptop, if so which one?
