Been wanting to attempt stylized art, have never really done it before. After digging through dozens of art styles, I really dig this simple flat shaded look with slight hand painted details. I am really new when it comes to sculpting, let alone stylized art assets.
Will be using blender as my app of choice, if you have a better alternative i am open to changing this.
So yeah, I am kind of lost when it comes to wanting to make something like this. Pretty much all of my custom art assets have been props or foliage, never have made a full human model before. So looking for any tips you may have or any videos i can watch? Stuff like best sculpting settings or workflow, setup, best tools, ect. Every time I tried sculpting, I noticed everything was always so round, how do i keep things sharp, like the bottom of the pants for example.
My issue wont be painting / texturing, it will be setting up the sculpt to look good and on style.
Thinking I begin bottom down, probably starting with the pants first, as it seems to be very simple in shape (trying to copy the first image as close as possible for my first sculpt attempt). Then shoes, as it will be a little harder. Then move up to shirt, jacket, hands, and then lastly face and hair.
So yea, do I start with a simple shape and go from there? Or do i hard surface model it out first, and then sculpt after?

Anyone using 'dust3D' to create low poly characters/creatures?
Looks interesting but haven't used it yet.
Feel free to share your experiences and creations!
