Appreciation When my boyfriend is asleep he tells me he loves me. It’s so cute

My boyfriend literally gives me cuteness aggression when I see him. But especially while he’s sleeping. When he tosses and turns in bed he’ll always account for my body and cuddle me any chance he gets. Sometimes he’ll talk in his sleep and if I kiss his forehead or snuggle close to his chest he’ll say stuff like “I love you”. I’m so beyond grateful to have this kind of love in my life. Sometimes he’ll even kiss me in his sleep. Like if he cuddles up to me while he’s sleeping he’ll kiss my head and then go back to sleep. I’m gonna squeeze him I love him so much.

Story Update: We stopped treating intimacy like a calendar task and our warmth came back

A few months ago I posted (different account, long story) because my partner and I had quietly slid into a roommate routine. We love each other and we're good to one another, but sex had become rare and oddly transactional. I was the one trying to schedule it, treating it like another item on the to-do list, and both of us ended up feeling pressured and let down.

We decided to try a two month experiment: no scheduling sex, but we would schedule closeness. Twice a week, after our kid is asleep, we have a 30-minute check-in that is not about logistics. Phones away. We each answer three questions: what made you feel loved this week, what made you feel distant, and what do you miss. Then we spend ten minutes touching with one clear rule: it does not have to lead anywhere. Cuddling, a back rub, making out, whatever feels right.

The first two weeks were awkward. I felt like a spreadsheet person trying to learn how to be spontaneous again. Around week three the pressure started to lift. The touch felt safe instead of a test you could pass or fail.

And then sex returned, not because we pushed for it, but because we remembered how to want each other. It's not every night, but it feels like us again. The extra bonus is the warmth outside the bedroom: less snapping, more little jokes, more eye contact.

If you are in that stuck place, I just want to say it can get better. Letting go of performance and rebuilding small bits of tenderness first mattered more than any big talk we had before.

Love is Love is probably not for me, I think I've dropped

Love is not for me. I'm a 20 year old man. Some months ago the moment I saw a couple on the street I used either to curse, or to just imagine myself with a girlfriend, but some weeks ago everything just stopped. I remember wishing vividedly and passionately for a partner, and I have tried many times to have one and I was just left dissapointed. I haven't even had my first kiss! Let alone other things.
Some weeks ago I just noticed that I stopped caring. I'm someone who became extremely focus on oneself: exercise, reading, studying, and all types of improving. I'm not ashamed of saying that I'm perfect as I'm now and I'm really proud of myself.
Still, I got to a point in my life when even the mention of "love" sparks an inner laugh for me, I suddenly started to refuse love. My parents love rom-coms and everything romance-related and every time they want to play one of those films my refusal is complete. It isn't something that escalated and I planned or willed. It just happened from night to morning. I stopped caring about couples, and I even stopped imagining myself in a relationship. Nowadays whenever I think about anything like that it ends up in lust (if you know what I mean) but no more than that.
I don't even feel this refusal as a loss, I just don't feel I lost an important part of myself.
Could it be for all the dissapointment I passed through? Probably. The experiences I had were horrible and the experiences I wished to have with girls that were extremely compatible with me never happened because they were/are in a relationship.
What has become of me? Is this my version of love? Or I lack of it? Is it because since I haven't experience a relationship I fear that after having one and failing I wouldn't get over it?

Appreciation Finally found what I've been searching for after 28 years

She makes me smile just by looking at her. She assures me when I feel insecure. She showers me with hugs and kisses and intimacy without me asking. She tells me she loves me everyday multiple times a day. When I'm with her and we're alone, nothing else matters. Everything stops, and everything I want is right there in front of me, in my arms. I wanna hold her tight every moment. I tell her I love her everyday because my love for her keeps growing. I was ready to give up on being worthy of love after years of failed relationships, and then I started recognizing that she was always my peace. After 10 years of close friendship, I made the move, and it has been the best decision of my life. I'm so happy and content. I can't wait to build a life and a family with my best friend.

Friends I love my best friend so so so so much

She’s the most amazing person I know and she’s literally the definition of sunshine and rainbows and all good things. Whenever I see her messaging me I’m so happy and look forward to talk to her. She’s the best influence I’ve ever had in my life. Like I don’t do anything that I would regret ever, because she has such a positive impact on me. She’s goal oriented and has her morals set and keeps her word and stays true to her beliefs. She’s so awesome and if I could choose to be with only one person for the rest of my life, I wouldn’t even have to think once about it. It would be her.
Now I don’t know where to put all these feelings so I’ll just happily vent here.

question I saw a reel on Instagram and started questioning my love.

I really love my boyfriend. We have been dating for almost a year now and he loves me so much. So much that sometimes i think he loves me more than i love him.

However, recently i came across a reel that plays two different tunes for FIRST love vs first LOVE. The second tune is a more deeper and passionate version of the first one. As soon as i heard the second tune, my heart sank and i just felt - i do not see him, i do not feel him as deeply as i felt the second tune. Am i making sense? Should I talk to him about this?

Love is My partner and I have been together since we were 13 years old, we are now 34.

We met in high school and the second I saw him, I knew he was the one. I know that sounds strange as I was only 13 but I just had this feeling that completely overpowered me and I had never felt anything like it before. I’d had crushes and everything before but this was so much more. It’s hard to explain.

Anyway, it’s been 21 years now and I’m interested to see if anyone has any questions or things they are curious about?

🥂 Celebration 🎉 Update to my post from yesterday about my girlfriend’s gifts for my graduation / our mini anniversary!

Yesterday I mentioned how well my girlfriend was taking care of me by buying me a fantastic celebratory dinner, slippers, a nice mug, and more! Today she continued and got me invested in Oats Overnight! She knows I usually enjoy a bland protein oatmeal and figured this would be a nice way to introduce some flavor and variety! In addition to the starter kit and these flavors she bought me a box of 16 additional that’ll be coming in the mail soon!

Bonus Crumbl cookie she used her points for!

I’m so lucky I get to be with her! I’m so lucky that you picked me darling 💜

(She previously got me a few other Oats Overnight flavors, and I tried the strawberries and cream, which I loved)

Appreciation I love my free spirited hilarious bf who goes to incredible lengths to make me laugh.

I love my boyfriend so much. He is the only person I’ve ever fell in love with at first sight. I find myself constantly wanting to express to him how much I love him and how special he is in general, and I already do a lot, but I still have so much to say! I journal it so that I am not just non stop love bombing him. He’s very smart and responsible, cute as a button, such a sweet heart, but the best thing about him is how goofy he is. He loves doing embarrassing absurd things in public to make me laugh. For example, when we go out to eat he always orders balsamic vinaigrette but casually pronounces it “ballsack-mic” without cracking a smile. He will ask for lemons but instead of putting it in his water he eats it in one bite, rind and everything, in front of the waiter without puckering. One time we were on a walk and he got on a ledge and randomly did a flip off it and landed on his back. He will pretend to have embarrassing falls in public to make me laugh. Another time we were at the gym and I refilled my water and he immediately took it from me and chugged the whole thing so I had to go refill it, just for him to do it again; he did it 6 times and got really nauseous, but it made me laugh so hard. Recently at the airport he was sitting in such a hilarious absurd way while waiting at baggage claim, and at one point he pointed at thin air and exclaimed “elf! There’s an elf!”
We were at Walmart the other day getting aloe Vera for my sunburn and he loudly says to me (in his funny Boston accent) “I don’t think this is going to help your hemorrhoids”
He cracks me up with his public stunts. He is a free spirit to the highest extent. I love everything about him. It means a lot how far he’ll go to entertain me.

Story The way his face lights up when he sees me

My boyfriend is so amazing and I feel so incredibly lucky to be with him!

He was competing in a sporting event over the weekend and mounted a GoPro to his equipment. He just sent me some videos over, and you can tell the moment he sees me because his face absolutely lights up and he's just cheesing so hard.

It's something so small and simple, but it brings me so much joy to know someone looks at me and just feels happiness from my existence. I know I feel that way about him and I feel so lucky to have found him :)

I should also mention we’re celebrating our upcoming 2 year 3 month anniversary of being together! She bought me a pair of slippers to keep my feet cozy and clean around our apartment and a mug to remind me of how much she loves me and cares! She also bought me a mandarin and grapefruit scented candle! We both thought it wouldn’t smell great when we first gave it a sniff, but it’s smells fantastic! The sticker is wonderful too; I’m planning on putting it on my laptop!

We went to the Cheesecake Factory to celebrate! We were waiting for this day for months and had been hyping each other up about the menu! I said a while ago that I wanted to celebrate my victory with a slice and here we are! We also enjoyed some avocado egg rolls and an avocado club sandwich together!

Can’t forget that she helped me pick out the murder mystery book yesterday!

Because I know you’re reading this baby I love and appreciate you to the moon and back! You are the absolute best thing to happen to me! Thank you so much for all these wonderful things and the great day we had together!

question I get this feeling with some people, sometimes fictional characters, do you relate?

there is this feeling i cant explain of, belonging to someone special, not the Ken (from barbie) type, but someone who just looks at you the way you look at them, same intensity same commitement same loyalty. I wrote something about it, I wanted to know if people reciprocated this feeling :

a deep feeling of longing,

a craving for safety and for the warmth of a connection

a connection where the person hits the spot

a connection where everything falls into places of different shaped pieces.

The corners of those pieces renders to fit the other's

Magnitude of Matching heartbeats.

Feeling destined to someone not found yet

someone who would make you feel their toxicty is right

what they are you can handle

what you are they can handle

through hardships

committed deeply and not only socially

ride or die

You and no one else

the dark possession that no one would feel with you

a strike to the core

beautiful intertwining of souls

Starving, the need to breath the same air.

This kind of feeling I get reminded of only when I see fictional characters and not real life people (it happent but it wasn't a mutual feeling) some characters that are emotionally capable of reciprocating intense feelings without naming them. If someone is interested to know the kind of characters or want to name when or with who did you feel this towards, feel free

question What was the moment you realized you were in love?

Sometimes it is a grand moment, and sometimes it is something completely ordinary.

For me, the stories are always more interesting than the definition of love itself.

What was the exact moment when it clicked for you?

question Do you ever just sit and think how they were a stranger and now they're your entire world?

Do you ever just sit and think about how you and your partner started as complete strangers at one point and now that is the most important person in your life? I think about it often and it just fills me with the warm fuzzies.

My fiancé and I met 4 years ago on Tinder of all places. Neither of us were looking for anything serious but also weren't super into hookup culture either. So we chatted for about a month until we finally made a date. Four years later he asked me to marry him in the same spot we first met and it is just crazy to me that two strangers, who had lived in the same city for years, hit it off on a dating app and quickly became the most important people in each others lives. I've never known a love or loved like this before. Sure I have been in love, but it has never been this sure and calm. I don't question if my partner loves me. I don't question if he considers me. I know he does, he shows me without provocation, in little ways every single day.

We've been engaged for 3 months now, and I just grow more and more sure and excited to marry this man and get wedding planning.

heey I was genuinely happy when this couple asked me to create this illustration for them. They shared their story, the little details that mattered most, and I loved bringing everything together into one piece. Every part of it was drawn by me from scratch, no AI, just a lot of time, care, and attention to the moments that make their relationship unique :)

If you had told me last January that I’d be in the healthiest relationship of my life I’d have told you that you’re crazy. But looking back I’m so glad everything led me to him. If you’re stuck in the “I won’t ever find anyone” mindset trust that life will send the right person you’re way🩷🩷

question Why do people say I feel so motherly? Is this normal?

Post image
141 Upvotes

Ok sooo yk I'm almost 19. and I love babiessssss. Like yk how I always get cuteness aggression, even at grownass men, including artists. 😭 Like, I'm mamaying everyone atp. Even my friends say they feel so warm around me and say I feel like their mama. Even babies in malls love me. 😭

One time, a random 12ish old boy on a bus fell asleep on me, and I didn't move his head because I didn't wanna wake him up. My whole arm went completely numb, and my mama scolded me lol.

And I reallyy wanna have my own babyyy asap, but I feel so bad because my mama says I'm weird for that. She scolds me when I cooo at literally anything, like tiny puppies, babies, and all. She says I should act like a nineteen yr old, not like an adult. 🥀

But she's also the one who sometimes comes and sleeps in my bed. Like, whenever I try talking to her, she keeps yawning, and I'm a yapper 😭 While I'm yapping, she falls asleep, and when I ask why, she says she feels sooo sleepy in a good way because she feels warmth and peace in me.

But tf is this warmth people feel around me? And when my friends say I feel like their mama, I get internally frustrated because, gurl, I'm literally the same age as you. Why would you call me that? :(((

Is this normal? Because I feel sooo mad at myself for wanting to baby someone. Like, even if I had a bf who was older than me, I would adopt him as my baby too and cuddle the tf outta him. But at the same time, I feel weird for wanting that, when one part of my brain wants to rebel and enjoy life since i'm such a freaky person , not marry and have a baby of my own :(

But whenever babies cry and I go near them, they somehow calm down Like, for example, this one baby was only six months old and her mom had to go out for hours because of an emergency. Everyone tried to calm her down, even with her mom’s milk, but nothing was working.

She’s one of my distant relatives, and her dad and grandma were there too, but nobody gave her to me at first because they thought I wouldn’t be able to handle her since she was crying so much.

But when I finally held her, she just snuggled into my chest like she thought I was her mama 😭 and she even made that little sucking mouth thing, which honestly made me so embarrassed because like... I’m still a kid myself too 😭 so i said no boobie for you lol

But then I just smiled, showed her some flowers and trees, talked to her a little, and she slowly calmed down and stopped crying and went to sleep while snuggling to me.

My brother was teasing me and laughing like, “Eww, even that baby thought your chest was bigger and pillowy”💀He was joking that she went into “I found my mama” mode and fell asleep. He also told me I should stop rocking babies or acting like that because normally teens my age don’t do it.

BUTTT ik if I have a baby, I would play with her, coo at her, peck her a thousand times a day, and be with her for hours lol. Because even though I'm 19, I can't stay still. I'm always clingyyy. It would be the same with my man too. 😭(But ahhh, even though I wanna rebelll and be like other teens, I always say no to dates and proposals because they feel like a hell no to me.......
Again, I know it sounds a little weird, but I actually love it. The thing is, when my family shames me for it, I start feeling embarrassed about myself too,

like “why can’t I just be me like ahhh I hate the way I am CUZ i wanna be NORMAL like other teenss. :( "

Alsooo, wait... I don't actually like when people squeeze me, sleep on my shoulder, or cuddle me. My people do it forcefully, saying my body is like a pillow, but I don't like it. I don't even coo at my friends lol. I've never really felt comfortable enough around anyone to fully be myself or initiate cuddling with people.

But I know my cuteness aggression and this trapped, overflowing love would probably explode onto my own baby and my future man because I'd accept them as my own. Ykwim?

When people cling to me like that, I honestly feel used, but I can't say no either. It's not mutual at all. Even with my mama, sometimes I cry myself to sleep wondering why I can't drop my guard and feel the same warmth that everyone says I radiate. 😭

I feel like a moth attracting everyone, but in return, I don't really feel that same sense of comfort or safety with anyone. I think that's one of the reasons I always say no to boys my age who try to hit on me.

So I guess my question is... is this a normal personality? Is it normal to have so much nurturing or maternal instinct this young while also wanting to enjoy being 19? Why do people describe me as "warm" or "motherly" when I don't even feel that warmth myself? And does anyone else feel like they have so much LOVEE LIKE OVERFLOWING LOVE to give, but struggle to actually let themselves receive it?

p.s; Thank you to all the Redditors who reached out to me and gave y'all your opinions. And just to be clear, even though I love babies and want to have one of my own ASAP, I can't.

I'm from Asia, and my family is strict and well educated. So the path I'm expected to follow is: get a good education first, then date, then get married, and then have a baby in my mid or late twenties. That's the process. Buttt i don't want itttttttt 😭 (Dear lord gimme my soulmate so i can break free from this path )🥀😞

That's why every time I'm mommying or cooing over a baby like I'm already a mama, both my mom and brother kind of humiliate me because they want me to follow that "safe and secure" path so there won't be any shame or worries later on according to them.

And honestly, I know having a baby is a huge responsibility. I'm still like a dumbass kid who follows her mom around like a little duckling in public lol. So unless I become fully independent or marry someone who's independent lmaoooo, I'm not going to have a baby and risk ruining both of our futures.

Waking up is one of the best parts of my day. My boyfriend is so sweet & cute with me every morning & I’m so lucky to have this life. Wakes me up with coffee, pets & love to our kitty, and kisses & sweet words to me. 🥰🥰 I’m such a happy girl. It’s important to have daily sweetness in your relationship!! Then at night he’ll be saying sweet things to me about his love for me which really fills my heart up, reminding me how loved & appreciated I am before bed. 🥰💕 I love this lover girl life with my angel of a man
