Vintage B&O Appreciation Post – My Master Bedroom Setup

The room is home to two complete Bang & Olufsen systems.

In the right-hand corner is a Beosystem 3500, while the left-hand corner houses my recently acquired Beosystem 5000.

The 5000 is my latest addition, and I’m still debating whether to move it into the living room. It feels like such a beautiful system that it’s almost a shame to have it tucked away in the bedroom.

The Beosystem 3500 was an incredible find. I picked it up in March 2025, and it was brand new, still in its original box. Everything was complete, untouched, and it has worked flawlessly from day one.

Moving to an apartment with a smaller living area so I'm swapping the Cornwall III's I've been using for almost 8 years for some Forte IV's. The new apartment is an upgrade but the listening setup will not be unfortunately.

1st post on Reddit. This is is my current system. Finally done, for a while. Amps in front are Classe DR9's running mono or center amp, Classe CA-401. Both ole school power houses. Each amp runs 400w 8ohms, 800w 4ohms, and they double down into 2ohms. Digital front is all HiFi Rose RS130 transport to RD160 DAC. Speakers behind Maggies are Perlisten S7t's in Gloss Walnut.

We replaced flooring from carpet, and I got a Hegel H160 on ebay for an upgrade to get this small room going.

Finally happy with my setup, always had a feeling that I'm missing something, but now I don't feel like changing anything. Maybe apart from buying a CD player

Been grabbing a lot of FLAC files lately, it's fun to grab them while listening on headphones, then send them over to the stereo to listen and relax when I'm done.

My dual purpose home theater and 2 channel setup. MartinLogan ESLs powered by a PrimaLuna EVO 300 Hybrid, Cambridge CXN, and Rega Planar 2 for music, plus an Integra AVR, MartinLogan Motion 30 center, Motion 4 surrounds, Motion FX front heights, and a REL T/9 sub for 5.1.2 home theater. Best of both worlds.

Ok. Desk listening area. Went from Altec Lansing ACS340 2.1 system to Onkyo Creative Series speakers with sub, to a Sony Micro system, and back to the og ACS340 system.
From streaming, to CDs and tapes, and again back to streaming.
Guess the point of this is do what works best for you! Enjoy the journey, but most importantly, enjoy the music!!

-iFi Audio GO Link 2 - Portable DAC & Headphone Amplifier

My Daytime Listening Space

Recently had our floors refinished. This was the first of our things to go back.
Usually a couch on the right and a loveseat on the left. Thought it looked nice without the furniture though.

Peace, everyone. I thought I’d show off my living room setup once again. Some changes since my last post that improved the sound were made and I’m pleased with it. Extra aesthetics were thrown in like the MF DOOM mask and the Godzilla & King Geedorah figures.

  • Amplifier: Yamaha A-S501
  • Power conditioner: Panamax MR4300
  • Speakers: Bowers & Wilkins 607 S2 Anniversary Edition (now mounted on new stands)
  • Subwoofer: Bowers & Wilkins ASW608
  • Turntable: Technics SL-1200 MK2
    • Phono cart: Nagaoka MP-150 (upgraded from the MP-110)
    • Phono preamp: Schiit Mani 2 (upgraded from the Art DJ Pre II, connected to the amp via RCA - line 3. It’s set at 42dB gain, 100pF capacitance and the rumble filter is set at 12dB to reduce the woofer pumping)
  • Streamer: WiiM Ultra (connected to the amp via optical and RCA - line 1)
  • CD player: Onkyo DX-C390 (connected to the amp via coaxial and RCA - CD input)
  • Tuner: Sangean HD Radio HDT-20
  • Tape Deck: Teac W-1200 (connected to the amp via RCA - line 2)

On the Yamaha amp, I use a RCA piggyback cable for line 2’s recording output. One end goes to the tape deck’s record input and the other to the Behringer UMC202HD interface for ripping all sources to my laptop when needed.

Lastly, I’ve installed an acoustic panel on the wall that helped out a lot. Hope you all like what I’ve done.
