Seriously this is getting fucking ridiculous. I can't even find a vanilla game at all without running into these modded servers. And for those who're gonna say just use the openserverbrowser command i need you all to understand that i could be placed into friends-only or private lobbies. Additionally i have no agency regarding what difficulty it would be nor if it could be a mutation mode. Im also too stubborn to join their fuckass server asking to be banned

Missed opportunity: Nick should've had a unique line for the Boomer + Boomette
You know how the survivors have special spotting lines for infected?
I just realized Valve missed what could've been one of Nick's funniest lines in the game š
Since L4D2 added the female Boomer variant (Boomette), imagine if Nick saw both variants during a horde and said:
"Hansel and Gretel."
It would've fit perfectly with his sarcastic personality.
The survivors already nickname infected constantly:
So Nick randomly assigning the two giant bloated infected a fairy tale duo name honestly sounds like something Valve would've written.
I can already imagine Ellis reacting like:
"Man, that don't even make sense!"
while Nick just keeps shooting š

I used to play this game religiously as a teenager (hell, even younger than that). I recently beat all the campaigns on Advanced and thought, "Fuck it, let's just go for it," and jumped straight into Expert Realism. I saw Tank Bros doing it and thought, āyeah, no I got this shitā. I knew it would be extremely difficult, but I genuinely thought I had it.
Boy was I FUCKING WRONG.
Yāall⦠This campaign took me 40 attempts to complete. FORTY ATTEMPTS. Half of those were on the finale alone. And half of those were almost immediately cooked because one of my GODAWFUL AI TEAMMATES went down. Like, the AI genuinely just does not work sometimes.
I cannot count the number of times they did something completely insane, like running into a fire to pick up a downed teammate. At one point I screamed, "FRANCIS, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" as he limped over to pick up Louis, who had just been downed by a burning Tank.
There was also a point where Francis just... could not get onto the roof. He kept climbing the first ladder, going back down, climbing back up, going back down. He did that until a Hunter came to put him out of his misery, which immediately resulted in another chapter restart.
And look, I KNOW working with the bots is a skill in and of itself. However, it was a skill that I clearly did not have and another reason why this experience humbled me so much.
My final attempt ended with me on literally one HP as I limped toward the helicopter, axing zombies for dear life and praying the Tank and Boomer didn't catch up to me. Several times throughout the campaign I tripped at or right before the finish line. If I had done that there, I genuinely don't know if I would've recovered.
Thank goodness that wasn't the case.
All in all, this was a humbling experience that I would not wish on even my worst enemy. I'm surprised I'm here talking to you all today.
Anyway, thanks for listening to my silly little rant.
Iāll check in again after Crash Course. š

Hello, I have one question about this game. Well I had it for a long time but never bothered to google or ask anyone as I was lazy and considered it a bug. Back in like 2016,17,18 I was playing l4d2 on my xbox360 but only the demo version if the game where only the campaign Parish and two of its levels are available. Everything was normal and what I used to do was to wait somewhere in the beggining of the map and wait for the director to spawn horde of zombies to me. As I didnt want the demo to end. Well once I was playing and saw that my rocelle ai picked up a molotov and instantly threw it. And I was like wtf how is that possible. I always thought that the bot picked it up by accident when I was little. I dont know if it was a bug or someone joining my demo game hahah. Could someone explain it to me thanks!

Hello! So recently I decided to play through all of the Left 4 Dead Campaigns as someone with minimal experience with the franchise. For some context, I owned Left 4 Dead 2 of the Xbox 360 back in 2012 (I say this as I distinctly remember Cold Stream being advertised for the 360 at the time I played) but I barely played it, and what I did play was played solo and on the easiest difficulty. I played through the entirety of Dead Center, Dark Carnival and The Parish. I believe I also tried Swamp Fever and Hard Rain but did not complete either of these campaigns. Of these, I only played Dead Center multiple times and the others I played through once.Ā Years later, I did play through No Mercy once with a friend on PC but I could barely remember anything besides getting absolutely swatted by a tank off the roof before I could make it to the helicopter.
I have now completed each of the campaigns on PC at least once solo on medium difficulty. Most of them Iāve now played through several times and Iāve also moved up to playing on the advanced difficulty. Each of the campaigns were played via Left 4 Dead 2 (I havenāt yet played Left 4 Dead 1 though I am curious to go back and see the differences in the campaigns for myself).
I did not look up anything about the game / peopleās opinions on the campaigns as I wanted to go in blind. The only exception to this was that I did look up the ācanonicalā order of the campaigns so I could play them in the right order as well as a few bits of game-specific terminology (ādirectorā, ācrescendoā etc.) As The Last Stand and Cold Stream are considered non-canon, I decided to play these ones last.
Iāll give my brief thoughts on each of the campaigns below:
No Mercy
I think No Mercy is just the perfect campaign for Left 4 Dead. Fantastic and varied level design throughout that showcases pretty much everything that will be expected of the player in this game, all to cap off with an excellent finale that can be quite punishing for a player who doesnāt prioritise chargers / tanks.
Crash Course
Short, but very enjoyable! Having just two chapters with each being much longer than a typical chapter is an interesting choice. I think the finale isnāt quite as engaging as most others, but Crash Course is pretty great overall.
Death Toll
Really solid campaign with fantastic atmosphere. The Church crescendo event might be my favourite crescendo in the series. The only thing I didnāt enjoy was the crescendo event in the town. The endless hordes simply do not complement the extremely narrow paths youāre intended to take to get to the safe room ā to the extent that boomer bile / pipebombs are almost mandatory.
Dead Air
I really canāt stress enough how much I loved this campaign. I decided to rank No Mercy higher as I think it is overall the better experience, but everything about this one is stellar. Running across the rooftops, pushing through the office buildings, fighting through the airport itself all to end with the most visually impressive set piece in the game and a solid finale to boot.
Blood Harvest
Blood Harvest is an example of a really good campaign that unfortunately doesnāt excel in any particular area. I also found the finale to be fairly weak.
The Sacrifice
Another solid campaign with an interesting twist at the end. The shitload of tanks that spawn when the generator needs to be restarted definitely caught me off guard haha.
Dead Center
A really phenomenal campaign from start to finish. I donāt think it quite succeeds at introducing the player to the gameās mechanics as well as No Mercy does, but Dead Center is always a blast to run through (and the guaranteed laser-sight in the Gun Shop is certainly a nice bonus lol). My only gripe is the fuel finale. I can imagine this being really fun and tactical with other players, but solo it is a complete slog as the AI companions arenāt programmed to pickup the fuel.
The Passing
Another fantastic campaign. The interactions with the L4D1 survivors are excellent. My only issues were the run through the sewers which I found particularly tedious as well as it being another fuel finale, which on solo is just a slog.
Dark Carnival
I was surprised at how much I didnāt care for this one as despite the fact that while I only played it once on the Xbox 360 over a decade ago, I vividly remembered all of the set pieces. I think the Motel opening chapter is great, and the finale is my absolute favourite in the series (in fact, the finale is the sole reason I didnāt put this campaign in upper C-tier). However, I found pretty much all of the carnival itself to be fairly unenjoyable (particularly the Tunnel of Love, the Roller Coaster and the Chapter 4 crescendo event).
Swamp Fever
Yet another solid campaign with a fantastic atmosphere throughout. I had an awful feeling thereād be some kind of zombified alligators in the waters though thankfully that wasnāt the case lol. As a completely unrelated side note, when waiting for the ferry my entire party got absolutely smashed into the waters by a charger ā definitely one of the funniest things to happen to me during the playthrough.
Hard Rain
Itās not bad, but I really didnāt care for this one. I found the Sugar Mill to be pretty boring (with the sole exception of the corn field ā that was nerve wracking due to how many witches spawn on this campaign). The rainstorms obscuring vision and audio is pretty neat I guess. I can imagine it being great on multiplayer if you canāt hear your team, though Iām not certain thatās how it works. The backtracking also really bogged this campaign down for me as well as the underwhelming finale. I think I would have preferred it if after the party had got the fuel, the storm had forced them to take like a secondary route back to the boat or something.
The Parish
A brilliant, action-orientated campaign from start to finish. The one thing I didnāt enjoy particularly was the float crescendo event, but everything else was excellent.
The Last Stand
I have a feeling that this campaign in particular is designed to be played with others, but as a solo experience, The Last Stand is fine overall but the hold out / fuel refill combination for the finale simply wasnāt fun playing solo.
Cold Stream
Cold Stream is a C-Tier campaign that is taken down to D-Tier due to the crescendo event in Chapter 2. Ā It is awful playing solo but unlike with The Last Stand, I cannot see it being improved with other players. It is remarkably poorly designed and a stain on what is otherwise an okay and inoffensive campaign.
And thatās my thoughts overall! Iām interested to see if these opinions align with the fanbaseās general consensus on the campaigns, or if anyone has any tips and tricks for a new player. I also do fully recognise that Left 4 Dead is designed from the ground up as a multiplayer experience, so my perspective is certainly limited in that regard. What I can say for certain is that I am now a huge fan and cannot wait to move on to eventually conquering expert difficulty and playing online with others.

Hi. Sorry if this is the worst place to ask for this, but I need help in finding a cool weapon pack I remember using back years ago.
Back in 2022 I found this weapon mod from watching a youtuber (Don't remember exactly who it was) that would add weapon model replacements that were specific for each campaign. It was part of a series and I had downloaded the one that was for Dead Center and The Passing.
The only parts that I remember was the crowbar being replaced with a pipe, the deagle was gold and the mp5 had a really good model, probably taken from a cod game.
I wanted to try it again but I can't find it anywhere. Tried different combinations of "Campaign Specific Models" and "Campaign Specific Weapons" but nothing pops up.
So I'm asking here if anyone here has it or knows the actual name of it.
Thanks!
