Help, does anyone know why the game looks like this to me?

I have the same problem in the lower city of Taris.
It's the Steam version.

Hey everyone! I just built a LEGO UCS Ebon Hawk from the pieces of the UCS Venator. It has interior, openable boarding ramp, a swoop bike, and a little T3-M4. There are 2 display options: on landing gear and on a vertical stand. All this within the parts of a Venator. Instructions on Rebrickable!

[RUMOR] According to 100% Star Wars, the Kotor Remake is still scheduled to be re-revealed this year

Post image
153 Upvotes

To start: 100% Star Wars is the person who revealed the issues with the KOTOR remake, the KOTOR 2 port to the Switch problems, and the potential KOTOR 2 remake before any of this was confirmed years later by the vice president of Lucasfilm Games and Stephen Totilo, but he also revealed games like the Battlefront Collection before they were announced. He's definitely a person who has some sources

But let's get to the point. 100% Star Wars first reported in March 2026 and then May 2026 that the reveal is planned for this year, so it seems everything is still on track for us to finally see the re-reveal of the Kotor Remake this year.

I think The Game Awards sounds the most reasonable. I wouldn’t expect anything at Gamescom, because as far as we know, Mad Head Games is in charge of the Kotor Remake (in collaboration with several other Saber Interactive studios), but Mad Head Games is currently in the middle of a marketing campaign for Hellraiser Revival, which is set to launch in October. So the earliest reasonable date for a re-reveal is The Game Awards.

But I think all of this makes sense, given Steve Allison’s recent comments about a potential 2028 release. However, an interesting point in the new 100% Star Wars video is that he said he’d heard the release of the KOTOR remake was also being discussed for mid/late 2027, and after Steve Allison’s slip-up, the CEO of Saber Interactive said not to take those dates (for the John Wick game, the new Space Marine game, and the KOTOR remake) too seriously, because the topic itself concerned microtransactions in Saber’s games, and the dates given were only rough estimates.

So it would be great if a potential announcement of this game this year meant a 2027 release, but it would also make sense if it were early 2028. The marketing campaign for *Hellraiser Revival* will last 15 months, so we can speculate that the *Kotor Remake* will have a similar timeline. With a potential announcement at The Game Awards, that would mean the release would take place in March 2028.

Nevertheless, regardless of my predictions, it’s nice to know that 2027 will most likely be the year when we’ll finally start learning new things about this game on a regular basis, and we’ll finally get to see some gameplay, etc.

Does Meetra Surik canonically use a single lightsaber or two one handed sabers?

I don't know much about her at all, but I wanna do a "canon" playthrough for my first playthrough of KotoR 2.

If anyone knows the colors, that would be dope as well.

Is she supposed to be more of a duelist, or more of a force user during fights? Or does she blend them a la Niman ?

KOTOR 1 Just finished Kotor1 for the first time. Here are my random thoughts. [SPOILERS] Spoiler

So, no particular order, just going to spout out whatever is on my mind:

1) Jolee is my fkin GOAT. That man saved my ass SO many times. His story is also pretty interesting to learn about and he seems like a deeper character to dissect than someone like Canderous.

2) Force stasis is BUSTED and if it didn't exist I would've had a MASSIVELY difficult time with specific sections. Notably the part where you are going back to The One after speaking with The Elders and you get jumped by a shitton of rakatan + like 4 rancor.

3) HK47 actually had me laughing out loud with its dialogue. I normally barely chuckle.

4) Mission was cool and I think I may have used her more often, but she just felt so squishy and I just couldn't justify her replacing Jolee / HK47 / Bastilla

5) Zaalbar is the homie. I just wish he had a little more character development.

6) Canderous is just...annoying. Didn't use him at all.

7) Carth was a lot more abrasive for a lot longer than I thought he might be. I get WHY he's the way he is due to his story, but idk. I would've definitely used him more often if he didn't have such a stand off-ish attitude.

8) Bastila <3

9) The section where bastila decided to 1v1 Malak and sacrifice herself so we could have time to get the last star map made my heart drop. I was not a fan and it genuinely upset me a bit.

10) The last fight with Malak was a big difficulty spike for me. I didn't have saberthrow, disable Droid, or any of the dark side abilities, so I couldn't disable his jedi medkits. I had to savescum the fight, and I couldn't even fight him straight up. He just did too much damage for me to survive, even with stims, force valor, force Aura, and force resistance. Idk if I did something horrible wrong with my build (probably), but I was only able to beat him by hitting pause every time he went to a new jedi tank. I would hit pause, heal myself with a shitton of items, buff up, then save before the next "round" started again. And even then. I ran out of healing items during the last "round". I ended up having to use adhesive grenades, and just pelt him him grenades, thermal detonators, plasma grenades, etc until he had about 30% life left. Then I was able to stand my ground and take him out. It was rough.

11) Swoop racing was fun

KOTOR 2 Jedi Enclave Entrance

I am quite confused right now. Kreia told me to go to the Jedi Enclave to meet the Jedi. The caved-in door is locked shut and in the sublevel isn't anyone. So... where am I supposed to look?

Modding A modding question regarding appearance.2da mod(s)

So I want to play this game modded for the first time. I downloaded *some* mods from the Community Portal mod build, and I have a few armor mods (not part of that build) that I want to use. However, I constantly read about how overwriting appearance.2da breaks the modded game or something? So is there a simple way to make them work? I am illiterate when it comes to technical stuff like this. These armor mods I mentioned don't have the tsl installer or holo-patcher.

It's my first time ever cosplaying and I decided to go as Darth Nihilus to the 23rd annual ConnectiCon. Everyone was super supportive and very kind all weekend. I took dozens of photos with other very enthusiastic attendees over the weekend and was so glad to share my love for Star Wars with everyone else!

KOTOR 2 Onderon Pt.2 & Korriban Pt.1 Spoiler

So... this was quite the night. After finishing Nar Shadaa and getting back to Dxun to use a Basilisk War Droid to get down with Mandalore really was awesome. The first Part was also cool, exploring the Tomb and fighting the Sith. But Onderon... that was cool, sitting 2 hours on the workbench to upgrade my equipment- I mean well fighting for the Royalist and robbing the Museum, I mean what-

Since my Armor is kind of green, I was also thinking of swapping my violet crystal, but then I found my first love in the game... a silver crystal. Buuut I decided for the Silver Greenish Crystal. Having 3 more colors really is cool. Also getting inside the Throne Room and using the Battle Meditation was quite funny.

After that, I went to Korriban and I do understand why I should visited it last. Finding Sion, just to flee and then exploring the good cave to find Revans Tomb where you need to face decisions, especially Kreia's fight was tough when you say that this is an illusion. But seeing the Planet now "cold" and dead gave me the chills.

But this is where I got confused. I needed to flee, without a trace left what to do. So I watched a few funny Ebon Hawk Companion Interactions and checked the log afterwards and yeah, I got the M4-78 restore Mod so I talked to T3 and now exploring cut content.

Where did Chris Avellone get his ideas? Spoiler

Specifically ideas like “Force echoes“ and “Force wounds“. Many view KOTOR 2 as a deconstruction of Star Wars, so I’m curious how these concepts play into that, hence the reason I’m asking. Has Chris - or Obsidian in general - ever officially said anything about where he got these ideas from or does anyone have any guesses?

KOTOR 2 Nar Shadaa finish Spoiler

That one took a bit longer and I do know the need for Force Speed now. The first bit was quite boring, but it got intense real fast and playing your Companions without your character was surprising. And crap, I love Mira. I would date her if same gender were a thing. Then Atton would stop being rude against Disciple.

I also do like the scenes showing Companions interacting with each other. G0T0 and HK-47 were funny.

Now it's going back to Onderon!

KOTOR 1 I feel like something is wrong with my attack bonus?

Replaying KOTOR for the first time in ages, and I feel like something's wrong with with my attack bonus?

I'm on Taris, Level 3 Scout, and with a Vibroblade my attack bonus is +1, while my bonus with a pistol is a +4. I have 9 Strength, 14 Dexterity, and Finesse. Weirdly enough when I was playing last night, those numbers were +3 and +6, respectively.

I downloaded the mods from the Community Mod Build, one of which apparently let me allocate all my feats at level 1 manually, but I don't think that would screw with anything since I still gave myself proficiency in armor, blaster pistols, and melee weapons.

Am I dumb or is something wrong? Thanks!

KOTOR 2 Farming Fassa for Disintegrator

So, I'm level 26 and been doing this for about 2 hours now and haven't seen a Disintegrator. Am I doing something wrong? Is the drop chance really this low? Is there some other factor besides just being level 26?

I've seen the Mandalorian Heavy Repeater many times, but no Disintegrator.

Edit - The key seems to be you can't already have a Disintegrator equipped or in your inventory. Once someone told me that got one relaitvely quickly.

KOTOR 2 So, I'm playing the Switch port, and I have to say I'm impressed

Somehow, through what I must imagine to be incredible effort, Nintendo has managed to correctly implement every single memory leak. Genuinely a little stunned, feels like I'm booting up my scratched as fuck disk on original hardware. Even has the jarring crashes included!

KOTOR 2 Anyone Else Replay Using KSE?

I love this game. I have since I saw my dad play the first one on Xbox late at night. My favorite thing about the TSL is being able to convert your companions into Jedi. Anyone else replay over and over again using the Save Editor on to make everyone Jedi and Prestige Classes? I like to role play different ideas like having a coven of Sith Witches with all the females in the game as dark Jedi (found a way to get Handmaiden as a Female Exile) and I’m already thinking of a fun lightside character to do next. Anyone else do something similar?

KOTOR 1 My gripes with the "Strange Stowaway" quest. Spoiler

Post image
43 Upvotes

Potential spoilers ahead, read at your own risk.

I am surprised more people don't mention this as part of the game they dislike (most likely cause it's just an optional side quest.) It's the quest on Dantooine where a child named Sasha pops up in the cargo hold of the Ebon Hawk and you have to reunite her with a Twi'lek who is trying to return her to her parents. The Twi'lek refuses to board the Ebon Hawk himself to see if the child is Sasha until you can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that it's her. Sasha speaks a foreign language implied to be Mandalorian (but it sounds like Twi'lek), which complicates matters further.

Why it sucks:

- LOTS of backtracking, particularly through load zones. The trigger for the quest itself is on Dantooine, but to get Sasha to appear in the Ebon Hawk (to my knowledge), you have to leave the planet, which means you're going to have to play the turret minigame at least once going to/from Dantooine on top of sitting through the associated FMVs. Then, when you finally do return to Dantooine, you have to keep going in and out of the Ebon Hawk to generate new dialogue options with Sasha.

- lotsa brute forcing dialogue options with Sasha with no indication if you're making any progress at all with the quest. Even the Twi'lek just keeps repeating the same things (regardless of if you're making progress identifying Sasha) and you can easily earn Dark Side points by mistake if you tell him that you'll force Sasha off the ship for him to confirm if she is the child he is looking for (can fuck up a Light Side purist run and seems like a sensible option, all things considered.)

- none of your party members are of any help at all (even Canderous, who should help you translate what Sasha says since I assume he would speak Mandalorian.)

- absolutely ZERO 👌 hints or updates to the quest as you're doing it. You have to figure it out all on your own.

Lore wise, it doesn't even make sense because:

- As stated before, the language Sasha speaks sounds like the Twi'lek language used in game (and this would make sense, given that she apparently has spent a considerable amount of time around one.) How does your character not know this language given their history in the Mandalorian Wars and supposed knowledge of other languages (for example, recognising the Selkath language spoken by the Builder Droid in the Dantooine Ruins or your various interactions with different aliens speaking their native languages throughout the game.)

- there is no indication we are to supposed to believe things are as they seem. My initial thought (not having played this game in probably more than a decade) was that the Twi'lek was a child trafficker (and he very well may be) and Sasha was trying to escape him.

On a side note, has anyone left this quest incomplete (as in, keep Sasha aboard the ship)? Does she eventually leave at some point on her own? What about after Dantooine becomes inaccessible?

Hands down one of the most lore expanding games in the franchise. This was my first step into the old republic outside of 5 hour long youtube essays, and i’m having a blast. I’m 25 and only grew up with the republic/empire and stepping into the High Republic for the first time makes me want to go deeper and read all the books. Gonna play KOTOR2, the SWTOR, and follow up FOTOR when it releases.

Best builds for Mission and Zaalbar?

I'm showing my friend the game, letting her make all the decisions while I play the game for her (she has a learning disability and is more entertained watching the game than playing it herself) and for some reason she wants me to play the rest of the game with Mission and Zaalbar only. I don't know why. I guess she just likes them that much. Truth be told I'm a little disappointed in that but it's her playthrough in a sense so I will oblige. I'm curious as to what the best route for these characters are since I typically don't use them much. Any advice?

KOTOR 1 Trying to remember something from KOTOR 1

I am replaying KOTOR 1 on Xbox and idk if I am suffering a case of the Mandela effect, but I could have sworn having Canderous in your party allows you to avoid confrontations with Mandalorians in the game. I just finished Dantooine and I had to fight all the Mandalorian Raiders I came across, regardless of having Canderous with me. Maybe I am confusing this with having Mandalore in your party in KOTOR 2?

Especially curious cause I know I'll be encountering more Mandalorians on Kashyyyk and Lehon.
