I got into SWTOR back in 2021 but stopped playing. I decided to focus on Star Wars ocs on artfight and got back into the game :) Here's some of my favourite SWTOR characters I've drawn so far! Anyone else participating this year? :D

The subject of favorite planets comes up here a lot (mine is Dromund Kaas), and it feels like a few names always dominate the discussion. This is because a) it's pretty obvious that more work was put into some planets than others, b) in terms of simple thematics, more of the story arcs seem to work on a handful of planets than they do on others, and c) a number of planets are widely regarded as fairly (or even deeply) frustrating, from length or navigability perspectives (or both).

So I was thinking that it might be insightful to see what players' runner-up worlds are and why. This isn't the place you'd like to build your fortress and retire... but it's maybe the one you admire from afar, hold near and dear, but isn't *quite* 'there.'

Mine is Nar Shaddaa. I like a number of things about it, in no particular order.

• Perma-night lends itself to these mega cities better. Coruscant's eternal twilight may be iconic, but I think the night is more impactful (especially with all the neon).
• I like the cyberpunk theming, which IMO instantly makes this the best city planet.
• The gangs feel more... ingrained than they do on Coruscant. It's less of a "how the fuck did all of these gangster take over entire districts on the Republic capital," and more "I am a stranger, and this is THEIR world."
• The music is great. The subtle solo trumpet really screams film noir.
• The big floating casino is just cool.
• Most of the main story arcs work well, and aren't particularly lengthy.
• I can mop up all of the heroics in roughly an hour. There are a lot of them, and they're reasonable.

Anyway, what's your second favorite?

I know the hooded outfits already have some kind of toggle programmed where certainly headpieces will cause the hood to lower, but I wish this was a toggle the player could freely use any time, rather than having to juggle headpieces.

So, it's been a while since I've done one of these. Three years, in fact. I've played through the class stories so many times, I've made so many characters over the years and I just ended up running out of ideas. However, I always had a bit of a white whale; a character I wanted to make but could never quite get down. Well, after literal years of writing and rewriting the concept, here she is.

For a little more context, the consular always felt like the weakest story to me and a large part of that is that a dark side playthrough doesn't really work. I saw that as a challenge, and that's where this concept came from. My previous consular was my so-called Punch Jedi who only used fists and force powers and was a bit of a Red Oni-esque character; chaotic and headstrong but ultimately a good person. I wanted to go the exact opposite with this one with a Blue Oni; a figure who is ruled by a desire for perfection and order over emotion, believing this to be the ultimate harmony. The main theme here is how the Jedi Code can be corrupted to create quite a dark philosophy. I didn't want to make the character feel evil, but rather a cold, calculating figure who has completely divorced themself from the ideas of emotion and compassion in order to be what they see as serene perfection. The aim of this backstory is to explain how a person could slowly fall into this idea of self-perfection that leads to the Dark Side. So, with all that said, I introduce:

Seras Vael, Blade of the Force

When Seras Vael was born, it was quickly recognised that she possessed an unusually powerful connection to the Force. Even among the Miraluka, whose people were naturally attuned to the unseen currents of the galaxy, Seras’ perception was exceptional. She didn't just see through the Force; she seemed to understand its movements before they occurred. She could sense fear before a child spoke, grief before tears were shed, anger beneath words of kindness. The emotions of others were never hidden from Seras. They were an open book, and one that she could never close. She sensed every fear, every flicker of hope, every cruel thought in others. It made it hard for her to cope and she quickly found that solitude was her sanctuary. At the age of four, she was taken to the Jedi Enclave on Alpheridies to begin her training.

From her earliest years, Seras struggled to relate to the other younglings. While they learned through experience, play, and kinship, Seras learned through observation and meditation. The Force revealed things to her that others could not see: hidden fears, unspoken desires, the turbulence beneath calm expressions. She studied her fellow trainees as well as the masters, watching their moods waive and flow. Seras began to believe that emotions were disturbances in the natural harmony of life, ripples that obscured the truth beneath them. She wished to see past those ripples, to reveal that truth.

While other Padawans played, Seras meditated. Where they sought companionship, she sought understanding. She trained her body until exhaustion, her mind until silence, and her connection to the Force until she could anticipate movements before they happened.

As she grew, her instructors praised her focus, but some began to worry about the source of her devotion. Seras did not seek mastery because she loved the Force. She sought mastery because she feared what would happen if she didn't.

Over time, the Jedi Code stopped being a philosophy to her, but a path toward perfection, a dogma which defined her role.

There is no emotion, there is peace.

Emotion became the first obstacle to overcome. Fear, anger, grief, attachment, all were disturbances that clouded judgment and disrupted harmony. A Jedi who could not master their own feelings could never hope to guide others.

There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.

Ignorance was the source of suffering. Lies, deception, and hidden motives created uncertainty and conflict. Conflict caused disharmony. The truth had to be uncovered, no matter how painful it was, and those who concealed the truth, whether through malice or ignorance, endangered harmony and had to be brought to light. Even well-intentioned deceptions; white lies, inaccuracies or half-truths, could all lead to chaos and disorder.

There is no passion, there is serenity.

Passion was the enemy. Desire was weakness. Compassion could become attachment and mercy could become indulgence. To act with true clarity, a Jedi must cut away every impulse that placed the self above the greater good.

There is no chaos, there is harmony.

Chaos was not something to be endured; it was something to be corrected. Those who brought disorder, who threatened harmony, who disrupted peace, could not be allowed to continue unchecked.

There is no death, there is the Force.

Life and death were not opposing forces, but merely movements within the greater will of the Force. To cling to one life over another was to invite chaos and fear. The Jedi’s duty was not to preserve life at all costs, but to ensure that the Force’s greater harmony endured.

Seras devoted herself to these ideals, silently repeating them like a mantra. She served the Force, the ultimate truth, stripped of all emotion and bias… or at least she believed so.

During a training duel with another Padawan, Seras experienced the consequences of failing to maintain her perfect control. When her opponent pressed unexpectedly, instinct overtook discipline. She released a powerful burst of kinetic energy through the Force, throwing the other student into a stone pillar. The Padawan survived, but their injuries were severe enough to require months of recovery.

Seras was devastated. Her doctrine had failed her. No, she had failed it. She had failed to suppress her power and it had hurt another.

The event became the defining moment of her life. She did not see it as a lesson in humility or the necessity of compassion. She saw it as proof that even a single moment of emotional uncertainty was enough to cause suffering. She did not hate herself for what she had done. Hatred was another emotion, another weakness. Instead, she slavishly analysed the event, replaying it in her mind as she meditated, dissected every moment, every sensation, every thought that preceded the outburst. She would find a flaw and she would remove it.

From that day forward, she resolved that she would never again allow herself to be ruled by instinct, fear, or attachment. She would master herself completely.

Her increasing isolation and extraordinary skill eventually led the Jedi to transfer her from the Enclave to Tython, where she could continue her training away from the distractions and dangers of the younger students. The masters hoped that a new environment and fresh instructors would help her develop balance.

Seras saw the transfer differently. She believed it was the next step in her path; the Jedi had recognized her discipline and that she required greater challenges. The Force had guided her forward. She would embrace the solitude, refine her abilities, and become the Jedi she believed the galaxy required, a paragon of the Force.

On Tython, Seras dedicates herself to the path of the Guardian, mastering the lightsaber as an extension of herself. She views the lightsaber not as a weapon of aggression, but as an instrument of resolution. A Jedi’s duty was not merely to protect peace after it was threatened but to prevent threats from ever reaching that point.

Through mastery of herself, she masters conflict.

Through mastery of conflict, she brings harmony.

And through harmony, she would restore balance to the Force.

Seras Vael does not desire power. She does not seek conquest. She does not crave recognition or glory.

She believes that suffering exists because the galaxy is imperfect.

And she believes that, with enough discipline, enough focus, and enough control, perfection is not merely possible. It is her duty.

If you've read this far, it genuinely means a lot to me that people are willing to engage with my writing. Since I'm down here, I wanted to expound a bit on a few of my choices.

I wanted to make Seras a miraluka because of the theme of blind justice, which plays a lot into her design. She sees herself as a Blade of the Force. She dehumanises herself as a weapon or a tool because then her actions are the will of the Force, rather than her own choice. This is also why I decided to go with a guardian, rather than a more traditional sage. She doesn't use the Force. The Force uses her. Plus I've never really played a guardian before.

Most importantly, I didn't want to present Seras as being right here. I wanted to present her as being understandable. With her Force sight, she sees everything as extremely black and white (literally) and, being an awkward, socially isolated teenager, she works to legitimise that worldview through her studies, something that happens with a lot of young people in real life. Seras is not a bad person. She's a person who cannot accept that she isn't perfect and everything she experiences seems to reinforce that idea. If anything, the events of the Consular story will only push her deeper into her own fanaticism as she is given more responsibility and treated as more special by the story and the weird deadpan delivery the Consular VAs do really fit the vibe. So… yeah, that's what I think, anyway. Also, her name is Vael because she wears a blindfold and the title 'Blade of the Force' is meant to depict how she sees herself; not as an individual but as an embodiment of the Force's will.

I tend to do most of my Force Sensitive playthroughs not with any specific alignment goals in mind, but rather just "what feels correct." So instead of winding up with fully lightside or darkside Jedi and Sith, I invariably tend to lean more grey - not because grey was a goal, but just a natural outcome of picking from both sides.

In a practical sense, what this means for my Sith Warriors is that they embrace the dark side, but aren't drunk on it. They fully believe in the power of emotion, cruelty, and vengeance... but can also be made to see reason, and can act compassionately at times, too.

This always makes the Jaesa recruitment... difficult. On the one hand, I hate getting LS Jaesa, because she's an insufferable pseudo-Jedi who believes my character is out exclusively to sow benevolence throughout the galaxy (and I clearly am not). But... if I get the DS Jaesa, while she does definitely commit to the dark side of the force, she's almost equally difficult to stomach - becoming, at best, a girl with the Jedi equivalent of daddy issues, and at worst a total lunatic.

So... if you're ever in this same boat (a SW who is neither fully light or dark), which way do you go? And why?

I like how some armors (not all, most clip weird around the stomach/belt) can turn your guy into an absolute UNIT.

The armors for my Pirate, Warrior and Inquisitor are roughly arranged according to storyline progression

I know I'm waaaaay behind the 8-ball on this one, but I'm just now returning after base Onslaught left be wanting. I've been playing since early access vanilla almost solely for the story and was really disappointed with KOTET and Onslaught.

I finally got back around to trying again out of nostalgia, and I just finished the Echoes of Oblivion quest, and I gotta say ... chef's kiss.

JJ Abrams should have taken notes, because that's how you do a "somehow, the emperor returned" storyline!

My sentinel is a boosted character so I don't know this spec as well as some others and I noticed that sometimes lance and blade rush abilities spend no focus. Like on the video, I did 4 blade rushes and lance costed no focus. I looked through my skill tree, I read some guides and just didn't find anything about any affect that makes lance and blade rush a zero cost ability. What am I missing?

I hope I kept the title reasonably spoiler free. I know the story, so I can’t be spoiled, but I don’t want a random person skimming the sub to be spoiled by my question. But I’m not gonna beat around the bush in here.

Anyway, my question is this: I’m playing as a Sith Warrior, who’s about to do the final chapter of KOTFE. I was initially planning on saving Torian, so I wanted to raise his influence to match Vette before I lost access to her. But now I’ve changed my mind, and I’m wondering if I can continue using him after his death, or if I’ve wasted a crap ton of gifts and crew skill missions on him just to raise influence with a doomed companion?

Also, side note: I still can’t quite decide who to save. Vette annoys me, and Torian has more relevance in future expansions, but in lore, my Wrath would probably save his adoptive little sister (Vette).

I have an assassin darkness with dps gear (skank) with no alacrity pieces whatsoever and no alacrity augments either, yet my alacrity is registering 10%?

I logged out and back in thinking maybe it was some phantom stats, same thing. yet I dont have a single augment or piece with alacrity.

My base says 0% so where the heck is the rest coming from?

I know tanks have 10% accuracy but alacrity?

my head hurts. anyone know why this is happening?

I just came back to the game after 8 years of absence

There are a few things about collections I don't quite get yet

Is there only specific items that goes there or is every item able to fit like in retail WoW ?

I'm interested about swtor fashion but I don't know how to keep track of all random items I find

I just got a full set out of the nar shadda casino event and I love the way it looks but do I need to keep it in bank forever just in case I want to do some outfit with it ?

Also I noticed that by creating an outfit with some items, this outfit will still keep those item skins even If I don't own them anymore.

If I change the outfit, those skins will be gone forever if I don't get the original items back ?

Inspired by The Deceived trailer. My version of the iconic acolyte armor.

For the chest piece I was thinking revered master robes with dye and deadly outcast for the pants but there could be better options.

Has anyone else experienced this bug?

No matter how many times I choose the "blank" it goes back to which Legacy title I had selected last. I didn't mean to initially select a title, and now I can't get rid of it. Logging out doesn't reset it or anything.

I remember doing this quest a long time ago but I can't find where it starts. How I remember it is you're in one of those square rooms with a small circular elevator near the middle. When you go up it, there's a long stretch of room to the left. The quest begins somewhat with a (female?) Sith force choking an imperial, and you have the option to either intervene by telling the sith to let him go or sit in silent while he dies.

Does anyone know this quest?​

I have the SWTOR Keyboard back from 2011. My old computer broke and I got a new computer, but the logos that you could display on the touchpad aren't on synapse 2.0 and they shut down the cloud service for it so I can'texport the profiles that had the logos on them. I was hoping someone here might have the Keyboard SWTOR logos on their PC still and wouldn't mind sharing them.
