Ibex (walk in interviews) a good choice?

Hello, tis my first ever post here. I was thinking for going for the ibex walk in interviews since I applied for the customer success specialist role via their website but haven't gotten a call or email back just the auto generated stuff that they'll let me know. So I called them and got put through a operator I told him about that i had previously applied, he said that if it has been more than 2 days i should come for the walk in interview.

I have read here that walk in interviews are a no no but i kinda really need this and am willing to spend time working there.

ps. are referrals realy that overpowered? if so can i get one!!!

Where can I find Cheap Bridal dresses ?

Hello I’m soon planning to get married inshaAllah and just like other girls I also want to have a lavish wedding and pretty bridal dresses but the inflation and empty pockets are not allowing me to.
I want to look for a bridal dress no more than 50k, it doesn’t have to be heavy. Something that can still look good as a bridal dress but also could be worn later.
Shops in Karachi? Or online, Both are fine.
.
I think the weddings in our country even though are very beautiful but the money goes into stuff that doesn’t hold any great value in a long term.

Current Events Tenders in karachi are given to unskilled labor on purpose

Sorry if this post seems racist but its just something I have noticed personally. I go through plenty of active construction areas like karachi university road, jail chowrangi, johar, ayesha manzil, etc. I have always noticed unskilled pashtun labor working tirelessly with low-quality, almost broken hand tools that are inefficient and poor. They are forced to sleep on the rubble, made to work in poor-quality conditions with flashlights, and are barely aware of what they are doing. I believe the people in power are not stupid at all. They intentionally give tenders to corrupt companies that sub-contract their tender to cheap and inexpensive labor. This is exactly why they end up making basic engineering mistakes and use low-quality material to make roads. Not to mention how they conveniently "forget" to install pani ki line after carpeting the road. This is not a mistake, it's intentional just to justify added costs and delays. Let me make it very simple.

FB area wali road banni hai. Let's say uske liye 100 rupees ka budget pass hua and its expected to be built in 6 months. Us 100 rupay mai se 50 ka tender ABC company ko dedia. Since nobody is holding them accountable, ABC will pass on their tender to XYZ company for 20 rupees. 50 rupay gaye government ki jaib mai, 30 rupay gaye ABC company ki jaib mai. And just because XYZ is inefficient and unskilled, they will make mistakes and the project will be extended by another 6 months. The government will then deem ABC to be unfit for work, and they will employ another company and use up more of the budget jo ke hamaray paison se jata hai. Aur agar road ban bhi gayi tou vo itni ghatiya hogi ke 1 barish ke spell se barbaad hojaye gi. Phir process dubara shuru. Aur jab log poochain ge ye road kisne banayi tou blame game shuru hojaye ga. No gov body will accept that its their fault but god forbid if any resident chooses to build another floor, shaam se pehle unke ghar pe 10 government bodies ajaye gi just to take money because unke area mai construction nai karsakte without permit (which translates to bhatta). I might be wrong in a few places so correct me if I'm wrong but I think every mismanagement Karachi faces is intentional and on purpose. They're not that stupid after all.

Stray cat has huge open wound Spoiler

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I feed this stray cat whenever he comes around, and the other day I noticed he had a tiny pink wound like spot on his face. he came back today and his wound is massive, so much so that you can see the flesh around his skull. I’m really concerned but can’t afford treatment for him. I called some rescue services found on Google and was only able to talk to One Man Ambulance but he said he cant help and redirected me to The Paws Rescue instead. However I don’t have a cat carrier or even a box, and he hisses whenever I come near to him (sometimes doesn’t mind when he’s eating as u can see). can anyone give me some suggestions on what to do? I’m really scared he’ll die because of the severity of the wound

I cannot withstand the emotional abuse in the house any longer and I may not have another option

Hello I am 21M residing in Karachi and I'm not even sure why I'm writing this, maybe to get a better perspective of someone older and mature because I do not have access to anyone as such outside of my family, which happens to be the problem.

Bit of context before you read: I'm about to start my fifth semester and I'm earning very very little I just have one tuition kid and because of that my situation is really fucked up. Not having any elder siblings or a mentor has made things worse, I really don't have any trusted adult.

My parents have always provided the basics, they really did a lot for me when I was a kid (even paying my university tuition rn) but there were always signs of toxicity and narcissism. I was this golden kid (mujhe tab bhi maar parti thi but nevertheless they weren't ashamed of me) and as I approach my 20s I've realized its getting very toxic and exhausting living here.

Firstly, they have problems with my appearance. I've had curly hair for a long time but I never really understood how to manage it and they always appeared coarse and I kept them really short, it looked bad on me. They were fine with that but when I grew them out (ear length) I realized they look much better and the curls I have now are more defined. My parents do not like it and abuse me over it telling me to cut them every other day, from slurs to calling me all sorts of names and how I am a disgrace to even my father saying he's embarrassed of me and hates seeing my face and log kya sochenge. When I tell them people like it and I've also gotten confident because of it I get to hear I care more about others approval than theirs. Recently, it was getting so bad I did shorten it from the back and ears like trimming but they still weren't satisfied. Why should I change my own appearance and its something so trivial.

One time they told me how if anyone says I look good looking they say it out of pity and they probably detest you. That totally crushed me inside.

They also have problems regarding how I dress and how often I go out, which by the way is from my own earned money, not talking about pocket money. I do not like asking them for money because of strained relations and because of my own financial issues I sometimes I have to compromise like I buy thrifted clothes instead and honestly I dont minf but uss mein bhi I get to hear a lot of weird stuff and I get to hear very bad insults. One day I returned home wearing a jacket and a tanktop (wasn't see through) and my dad beat the shit out of me. I also don't like being at home so I use university as an escape and I just stay late there w my friends sometimes even when I don't have classes and when I start doing too much they pester a lot ke ghar kab aoge and itni dafa kyu ja rahe ho. My daadi especially says a lot how I'm close to my friends and she says too ke sab tumhare jese honge in a derogatory way and that they'll leave you.

Thirdly, there's a religious element present. My family even though Muslim, belong to this subsect that's well really weird to me and is a whole other can of worms, and they're pretty religious especially my mother and her side. I don't think I was ever properly introduced to Islam, everything felt very indoctrinated and because I think the whole sectarianism thing is a fucking circus. I've made it clear that I don't want to follow the lifestyle, culture, and beliefs of this particular subset, I'll just follow Islam and not this. My mother gets very emotionally outrageous and hits me and starts crying. One time I went for jummah at a normal sunni mosque and my mother lost her shit. My father just says you have to follow us till ure here baad mein ja ke do whatever. If you suggest to me that fake it till u make it I've been doing that for so long and the sects imposed lifestyle upon me contradicts with what I want to have i.e its frowned upon to not have short hair which explains my first point better perhaps.

Lastly, which I think is the most taxing thing and probably a culmination of everything mentioned. Its the fucking emotional blackmail. I'm made out to be the wrong person here and that Allah will curse me and im ungrateful and they've targeted my looks, style, personality, insecurities, every single thing to make someone broken. When I tell them I'll leave they keep screaming ke Allah tumhe zor se zameen pe phekega wapis. My mother ends up crying everyone starts yelling, its all chaos. Mein ne aap se maanga nhi tha ke mujhe iss duniya mein le ke aaye and the least you could do is provide which yes you may have done that financially but you failed emotionally and being parents I don't think you have the right to control these things especially something so trivial. Why the hell would I have a reason to stay. The way they talk about me as if mein koi harasser ya druggie hu.

Our beliefs don't match, the way we see the world it doesn't match. Its a ticking time bomb and my only option is to move out but the whole process feels daunting, I'm not financially stable in the slightest and the whole job market scares me too.

I tried to convey what I felt and I apologize if it sounds too much of a rant or a rumble but what I'm asking for is I need genuine advice over this. If any parents are reading this, am I actually in the wrong here ? What should be my next step. I'm good with tutoring subjects I can teach O-level maths and I'm also good with content writing and graphic design, I've even had professional experience with the former and have a portfolio both writing and design. I sincerely ask anyone if they can to help me out here with a job or just give me advice and some clarity. I have been in mental and emotional turmoil for so long, mujhe yaad nhi when i felt sukoon for the last time.

Question Got challan for no parking but didn't receive any SMS or challan by post

So, I came to know there is challan pending for no parking which is Rs. 10000 but if I pay with in 14 days then it is Rs. 5000. Then penalties keep increasing if not paid on time and final penalty is confiscation of CNIC if not paid with in 4 months.

My question is how would you know there is challan if you don't receive any SMS or by post? Doesn't make any sense.

Built Karachi Watch, a live, hour-by-hour street safety map for Karachi. Looking for local feedback and hotspot knowledge

I built a live safety map for Karachi, colored by time of day

Wanted to solve a problem I had my whole life: knowing whether a route home at 11pm is fine or genuinely stupid. So I built Karachi Watch, a map where every ~900m zone gets a 0–10 safety score that changes with the hour and day. Saddar at 3pm is not Saddar at 3am, and the map reflects that.

  • Seed data pulled from Dawn, Tribune, The News, and CPLC hotspot reporting (all sources cited in-app)
  • You can anonymously report snatching/robbery, GPS-verified so no one can fake reports for areas they aren't in
  • Rate-limited, no login, no tracking, works as a PWA (add to home screen)
  • Coarse zones on purpose, I'm not publishing a snatcher's map

App: https://karachi-watch.lovable.app

How it works + FAQ: https://karachi-watch.lovable.app/faq

Sources & methodology: https://karachi-watch.lovable.app/about

Feedback welcome, especially if a zone looks wrong for your area.
