This was one of the best challenges in all my jump rope history! Kept pushing me to think outside the box and inspired me to pick up a rope more often than usual. Hope this inspires somebody else to try the same!

Pulled a Calf Muscle

I pulled a calf muscle after about a minute of slow, easy jumping. I started jumping on one leg and BAM!

I guess I need to warm up longer and with some walking. Age related. I'm 72, but I've been jumping 800 jumps (HIIT) a few times a week for at least 10 months.

Beaded rope color for tricks.

Hi everyone,

I'm looking into getting my first beaded rope to help me learn tricks a little easier. I had a thought that it might be worth getting a rope with handles in a different color than the actual rope? Will it be helpful to have that contrast, as you're learning tricks such as the mic release, or does it not really matter, in your opinion?

Did anyone else practice tricks and moves while "resting"? I started dealing with some shin pains and have had to add more rest days and shorter workouts while I'm strengthening my tibialis, but I miss my rope already, cus I got hooked so fast. I figured practicing tricks without jumping in the meantime might feel good.

Thank you.

Problems with YaoYao App

Hi all,

i really love the YaoYao App for juming rope. I bought the lifetime pro and gave it a 5star rating on the appstore. But recently i`m hacing some issues that make it almost unusable. Basically there 2 different issues:

My setup:

  • Apple watch 9
  • iPhone 17pro
  • Polar H10 Bluetooth connected to watch

Issue 1

This came up recently and is really making it unasable. The app keeps crashing all the time. Today i startet the wokrout 5 times (after that i gave up ;) ) and the watch app keeps crashing. After restarting i get the message that the app crashed and i have the options to save or disard.

I already tried restarting both watch and phone... no success.

Issue 1 and a half

Thias might be connect, or not. But i noticed that the watch app does not work when internet is not available. It always crashes after ~30 sec. Is that somethng you can reproduce? In the Issue 1 example i had good internet access. But nevertheless.. maybe its a connectivity issue?

Issue 2

This issue i had from time to time before, but got it working again after restarting both devices. But now it also happens all the time. Basically the connection between watch and iphone app is interrupted.

E.g. i start a workout and it works fine, I see all data on the phone. I start jumpnig and the app switches back to the overview screen:

Whenever i raise th watch (not possible while jumping) the connection is resestabished. When i start again the watch is turning dark (as it always does and always did while using the app before) the connection is lost again.

The workout works fine on the watch but I really like the phone companion to see what im doing.

  • Did you have similar issues in the past?
  • Do you know if the developer is on reddit. I tried to email him about Issue 2 and 1 1/2 before but got now reply.

Thanks at all

Jump rope trainer in the SF bay area?

I have been jumping rope for a few years but just the basic bounce. I am interested in doing other variations like boxer skip, cross overs etc., nothing fancy. What is the best way to learn? Is there a concept called jump rope trainer? I am in my 60s, so I have to be cautious not to fall down. Please suggest. Thanks.

Lead in Rx Smart Gear's 2.0 Jump Rope?

I emailed RXSG because of the California PROP 65 warning thing that's on their page, and they said the small ring that connects the rope to the handle contains lead and also that the jump rope bag can expose you to phthalates.

They said they aren't sure of the amount of lead in it, and they sent me a link to the manufacturer. (https://worthco.com/split-ring-fine-0-nickel-brass-92600) Could anyone tell me if they had any issues like getting lead poisoning, sick, or if the amount of lead isn't enough to cause issues?
