Other tips:

It is incredibly helpful to jump rope in front of a mirror for real time form & technique feedback. If you don't have a mirror available, record yourself so you can review it or share it. HINT: Most phones have SLOW MOTION capabilities. This is a great tool for identifying issues in your mechanics.

If you need help with something specific, let us know in a post and community members will be happy to help!
*NOTE: if needing help with form or technique, a video is very helpful. Try to get a straight on shot as well as from the side.

Remember to be kind and courteous and again, welcome to the group!

This was one of the best challenges in all my jump rope history! Kept pushing me to think outside the box and inspired me to pick up a rope more often than usual. Hope this inspires somebody else to try the same!

Pulled a Calf Muscle

Upvotes

I pulled a calf muscle after about a minute of slow, easy jumping. I started jumping on one leg and BAM!

I guess I need to warm up longer and with some walking. Age related. I'm 72, but I've been jumping 800 jumps (HIIT) a few times a week for at least 10 months.

Tips on boxer step and how to last longer not tripping

I’ve been trying to keep my arms close to my waist, but I’m finding it difficult. I’ve also been learning the boxing skip, but I’m not sure if my technique looks similar to the boxing skips I see on YouTube or Instagram Reels.
I’d really appreciate it if you could rate my skipping and share any tips or feedback on how I can improve. Thanks!

Any Jump Ropers in Sweden?

I'm a 27M Lund resident jumping rope \~3x weekly at the outside gym by bollhuset. Ever since I started \~9 months ago I've seen exactly 1 other person jumping rope there. 😂

I think it would be awesome to have some company while training sometime. I mainly do footwork and tricks, so I don't primarily do it for cardio.

If you've never jumped before but would like to try I'd be happy to teach you the basics. I have two ropes!

Get in touch, why don't ya! Cheers! 😄

I started jumprope quite a while back but progress wise I just can’t make any. I still can’t do regular crossovers. The maximum I have gone is 3 that too with a short interval between them.

I also noticed that my right hand moves a lot more while my wrist moves smoothly in left. Or idk.

Would love some feedback and steps to improve and get better at some of the tricks.

Jumprope on one leg

Hello, I'm a 24 years old left leg amputee. I have never ropejumped in my life and I was wondering if ropejumping on one leg would be dangerous and too hard on my leftover leg or if I could use it as some really efficient cardio

Will jump rope make my bunions worse? Is it a matter of making them hurt or making the physical bunions grow?

Despite having sore feet when I wake up, I’m still jumping every morning for 25 minutes. Today I was locked in and got into a flow state pretty quickly so I worked on some speed drills.

Form check ?

Can I get feedback on my jumprope form please, it's been a while since I've done this?

6"1, it's a speed rope, length adjusted so it reaches my nipple line when measured from ground to the start of handles.

My calves/feet keep giving out after a few min, but that could be the zero drop shoes (or the concrete..)

I feel like my arms are too far out but maybe that's because of the length, it feels the most natural to me rn
