Hey all — I set up my shop (AuraSoft) a few months back, uploaded several game asset packs and a card game, and I’m getting basically no organic traffic at all. Not just low sales — literally no views.

I searched site:auragamestudio.itch.io on Google and only one of my pages shows up, none of my asset listings. My page is public, nothing’s in draft, and I haven’t touched any visibility settings.

I emailed itch.io support about it (ticket #381459) but haven’t heard back in a couple weeks.

Has anyone else run into this? Curious if:

**•** new stores get throttled/delayed before showing up in search  
**•** there’s something specific I should check in my page settings  
**•** Google Search Console verification actually helps for itch.io subdomains

Any pointers appreciated — happy to share more details if useful.

Hi everyone, well, I recently made my first sale on itch.io! But I ran into some problems and only found out about them today.

The person who bought my product didn't receive it directly and tried to purchase it more than 3 times. Both attempts resulted in an error. Until recently, I received an email from the website about this, and then I discovered that I had to manually accept the payment in the PayPal app to release it to the recipient.

All of this is because of the payment method I had set up, "direct you" as the default on my account.

Well, I issued refunds for both attempted purchases and accepted one. I don't know if the person still wants my product because of this issue...

And I wanted to know which of the two methods is good for receiving/processing payments going forward.

I started learning gamedev last winter. I started with a flappy clone tutorial and once I got the hang of it started doing my own projects. Instead of using any assets or anything from the tutorials I found some that fit the theme that I was going for it and kind of made it my own, adding some mechanics, added UI and menus, sound effects etc. My friends and I enjoy playing it when we’re just burning time and I was thinking of putting a web version on itch. I guess my question is would it be in poor taste to put it on itch as kind of a portfolio piece? I know there are a million flappy clones out there. I’m not trying to make any money off of it, just put out something fun to play and for other people to see if I want to do a gamejam in the future.

Recently, a lot of us, developers have seen a splash in the views stat, in my case ~x4! However, it didn't seem to affect downloads at all. Does anyone have any thoughts on what might be going on?
