Here is the comparison again, because June is exactly when families start finalising their Class 12 exam strategy.

The traditional route: 4 years of engineering, then 1-2 years preparing for CAT or a similar MBA entrance, then 2 years of MBA. Roughly 7 years from Class 12 to an MBA-level degree.

The IPM route: a single 5-year integrated programme directly from Class 12 into IIM Indore or IIM Rohtak. An MBA-level qualification by 22, with 2 extra years of work experience by the time the traditional-route graduate starts their first job.

IIM Indore IPM placement average sits above 20 LPA at Day 1 - this is a verified, established figure given how long the programme has been running.

The trade-off: roughly 30,000 applicants for about 150 seats at IIM Indore - a highly competitive, sub-1% selection rate. The students who do well are typically the ones who started structured QA, Verbal, and Decision-Making preparation from Class 11, not the final few months before the exam.

If your child is in Class 11 right now, this is genuinely the ideal starting point. If in Class 12, focused preparation through the exam date is still workable but requires more intensity.
