It seems there are a lot of posts going around many subreddits, many even by moderators, regarding certain political topics relating to the Internet in general. I would just like to re-iterate the rules of this subreddit, specifically Rule #3: Hyundai Related Posts Only. That will be taken very literally, and any posts not directly relating to Hyundai, it's products, or its corporate operations will be removed.

My car has been in and out of the shop at least 5x for the past 2-3 months. At first it would jerk, and then eventually just slow to a stop and shut off. I got new transmission fluid, a new pump fuel because the gas mileage would glitch pretty bad, and just got the catalytic converter replaced. I’ve put thousands into this car and it just randomly shut off once again. I don’t know what this is but if anyone else had this problem and found the solution please lmk.

2011 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited, 2.4l, Automatic, 68k miles
Hi all! I'm working on my parents' car. Normal routine maintenance. But they told me they sometimes have issues shifting it. When I tested it, this is what I found.
When going from park to drive, the shifter feels fine, but it'll stay in neutral (and display neutral on the dash) despite the shifter being in drive. If I bump it to neutral and back to drive, it'll go into drive like it should. No issues that I've seen yet going from drive to park.
And this is a random event as I moved the car again this morning and it didn't act up going from park to drive.
Would this be an electrical sensor issue? Or does this model still use a shift cable and perhaps its stretched? Or is this the Neutral Safety Switch?
Any help would be appreciated.
tl;dr - Shift from Park to Drive, dash displays Neutral (and vehicle is in Neutral), so shift to Neutral back to Drive, dash displays Drive and vehicle is now in Drive.

Hi all,
Drove into work and noticed there was a small crack in the bumper of my Hyundai Elantra. I'm not sure where it happened, as I have not hit/bumped into anything in recent memory, but I wanted to know if this is something that is safe to wait to fix, or what the cost would be to fix it?
I love my Elantra and want to maintain it as best as I can (this is my first ever car I've purchased myself), but money is just a little tight now. Thanks!

So my car out of nowhere went into limp mode then I pulled over turned it off trired to turn it back on nothing after that we changed the battery because they said it could be the battery still didn’t turn on I got it towed to a mechanic and they said my engine was locked up now how do I got about getting a new one because Hyundai said my car was under the warranty and that they needed to get the car in to see the exact reason the engine seized? Is this a long process or can they just buy the car from me give me the money and I get a new car preferably not a Hyundai

Hi all,
I’m trying to buy out my 2022 Tucson. The Dealer told me I had to get it inspected, which I have and now they’re ghosting me. My lease ends on Aug 3rd. Is there any other avenue to pay off this lease?
Also, the residual amount is about ~$4,000 off of what they told me it was when I first inquired even with the taxes and fees stated on the agreement. Is this normal?
TIA, this my first lease so I’m unaware of the process.

Am I missing something, or can you not get the bench seating on Calligraphy trims? I want the top trim, but I have two dogs, which eliminates the Palisade Calligraphy. It seems off that the top trim isn't offered with that option.

I recently had to cut the seat belt in my 2013 elantra gt. The dealership is trying to charge me 650 for a new one. All I need is the belt itself, is there anything else I can do?

My wife is ready to scrap her 2017 Accent. It has stranded us twice with catalytic converters that literally melt fall apart and block exhaust.
So it was burning a lot of oil then 2 years ago I did the piston soak with Berryman and it stopped. However the orignal cat was P0420 and wouldn't pass emssions. So we put on a cheap Amazon Cat and a new aftermarket O2 sensor as it was too corded in the old cat.
4 months later on vacation in Denver the Cat melted and left us stranded on vacation. We had to pay for an OEM Cat to be installed. The aftermarket O2 sensor was also throwing codes so I replaced it with a different one. This one the car doesn't like the heating circuit and gives a CEL code for that but works well.
1 year later it was burning a bit of oil again ~1qt/1k miles so last week I did another piston soak and switched to 5w30 Restore and Protect oil. 1 week later I start hearing rattling and the car loses power due to melted cat again.
The cats aren't just clogging with oil they are melting which would indicate combustion is happeneing inside it? Anyways what should we do. My wife just want to scrap it I want to put another Amazon special $120 cat on and trade it in. But what could be causing the cats to melt? There are no missfire codes and I replaced the spark plugs 2 years 30k miles ago they appear fine.

I have a weird issue…
So it’s happened twice now, where I will turn off my car (2018 Hyundai elantra SE) and walk away, then I will hear it starting all by itself. Like the engine is running and such, but the doors remain locked.
I have to enter the car again and turn the engine off then leave because I have no clue if the engine will just keep running by itself all day.
Unsure what to do about this. I just bought it used like last week.

Hey , looking for some advice and unbiased opinions. Based on the photo, (only photo I have) what would you call the grade level for engine sludge ? 1-5? I am no mechanic.

2023 Hyundai Tucson
My trial period for Bluelink ends at the end of the month. I'm enrolled in the 'Connected Care' and 'Remote' packages. I can't seem to renew only the remote package. Does anyone know if Connected Care is required for the Remote package? I'm not having luck finding detail through Hyundai. Similarly, would anyone know the difference between the Monthly and yearly subscription costs? Thanks in advance.

I have a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited and the other day when I started it, I heard this sound but was in a hurry so didn't think much of it. As it idles it will quiet down, not stop but quiet. I have had the alternator replaced already in this 2 months ago (it was the dealerships fault, they owned up to it) but now this sounds way worse than it did the first time I had ticking sounds. I do know I need to do an oil change and it is at the 'low' marker but not empty or its not black either.
Its such a amazing car, I've taken very good care of it the 5 months I've had it but I'm at a loss right now. I am going to take it in to the dealership to get it checked out but figured I'd ask here while waiting.

I have a 2017 Hyundai sonata about 146k miles, earlier this year I got a P0304 check engine so naturally I got the spark plugs and other thing changed ( I forget the name but it’s coupled with changing spark plugs) .
I then couple days ago had the another check engine come on which feels the same. So I did a reading and it was P0302 but mavis auto states it’s a bit more
The diagnosis says:
P0302 = cylinder 2 misfire.
They found low compression in the intake valve on cylinder 2, which means the valve may not be sealing properly.
They also found oil leaking into the valve cover area—likely a valve cover gasket/seal issue. That could potentially contribute to a misfire, but it would not normally explain low compression by itself.
They won’t work on it and said a new engine is probably the way to go. I’m broke but I’m gonna take it to my personal mechanic and see but I would like some thoughts on it .

Got a Tucson PHEV at the start of the year. My third Hyundai. And for the first few weeks, it was incredible, but then the issues arose, all before I even hit the 2,000 mile mark:
This is on top of several recalls.
And honestly, I'm at a loss and don't know what to do. My first two Hyundais had their issues, but not this many this early on. In fact, my first went several years without a single flaw. Now, my issue is that I LOVE Hyundais. They are among the most comfortable and stylish in their segment, but with the amount of work I've missed handling these issues, I don't know what to do should this case proceed.
Do I replace the car with the exact same one? Do I get a different model Hyundai? Do I try Kia (Hyundai's sister brand)? Or do I abandon ship altogether in favor of something more reliable? Whether I get a cash settlement, buyback, or replacement, I just need the most reliable option. I cannot handle the stress of all these safety concerns, nor can I afford to miss any more work.
I'd love to know some of your guys' personal experiences with Hyundai ownership and/or lemon law, especially as it comes to the Tucson.
Thanks, all!
