So basically my shoes have this weird heel design where there is just empty space in the middle instead of it being a solid rubber block. So when I wore them down, it exposed that hole, even though there is seemingly plenty of heel left.

Does anyone know how to repair this? All the resources I found work with solid heels, so I am not sure if I can apply the same methods.

It’s actually the only pair of footwear I own right now, and its in good condition otherwise. Not the first pair this has happened to either. So any advice is greatly appreciated.

I've got massive cracks in my driveway and lots of gaps that make shoveling snow, by the way I live in Canada, very difficult and I have broken many shovels because of the cracks and gaps. I also have weeds coming out of almost every inch of every crack and can't seem to pluck them fast enough to make a real difference because I have back problems and can only do so much during the day. Is there any kind of recommended putty or filler or something that can withstand cold Canadian Winters that I could use that isn't going to cost me an arm and a leg? I'm also considering some kind of concrete mix that won't fall apart because of the freeze and thaw of fall and spring weather.... Any suggestions would be stellar! Thanks in advance ☺️

I am not experienced with technology and I feel like there might be an obvious solution I’m missing. I would like a way for my wife to be able to wake me up when I’m home alone.
Ideally something battery powered and portable if that’s possible. ie doesn’t have to be connected to the wifi. I would like her to be able to use an app on her phone to trigger an alarm where I am. Like if there’s something like a small security device or Apple tag or maybe an alarm clock that she can control from anywhere in the world. And under $100 ideally but not completely necessary.

Solution: Removed the handles and removed the paint someone put over. You can put something in it to slowly pry it out.

To remove the handles, I used a 3/32 hex screw.

I removed the handles on both sides, thinking the plate would come off so I could tighten it before I move out, but it still doesn't come off.

I did try playing with that small hole, but nothing of value from it so far.

Pretty sure the toilet has been like this since I moved in almost 2 years ago. When I moved in, I took a bunch of pictures of everything, but I didn't think to take pictures of the toilet or in the tank, but there was grey spots on the seat and a dirt ring in the toilet. This is my second bathroom (I live alone in a 2bed 2bath) that I rarely use (partially because I think the toilet is moldy)

Anyway, I put in a maintenance request and management called me and said I'd have to clean it myself, because it's not a maintenance issue. I did try one of those blue toilet cleaner pucks that go in the tank a few months ago and it didn't do much. They said I caused the issue by not using the toilet enough and the stagnant water built up mildew (I don't think the office staff know that mildew IS mold, but I digress), but I do flush and clean the bowl occassionally.

How do I clean the tank and get rid of the mold in there??

I wear hats all the time and realized I honestly don’t have a great way to clean them. What does everyone do to keep their favorite hats looking good?

I have tried dishwasher and washing machine but my hats tend to lose shape or get ruined.

It swelled up pushed the back off my e-reader at some point. The council site says I should take batteries to the bins at the supermarket but I'm not sure this is the kind of thing they meant. Googling battery disposal seems to get me corporate stuff. I honestly have no idea what to do with it and would rather not keep it in my house.

I was cleaning out a dryer vent that exhausts up through the roof, and I must not have tightened the rod sections together well enough.

Even though I kept the drill rotating clockwise always, for some reason the last segment unscrewed while still inside the vent.

Help! How can I retrieve it? I could go up on the roof, uncap the vent, and push it back down perhaps but it's 105F and I'd rather not be on the roof. Nor do I know how the vent is attached.

Is there some clever way I can rig up an attachment on the existing rod segments in a way that is likely to catch on the rod segment stuck in the vent (which still has the brush attached)?

Hopefully one of you has run into this and has a clever fix that I haven't thought of yet.

Lol. The edge of a mirror that fell hit this baseboard and left us with this. (I know the baseboard is dirty too. I’ll clean it, don’t worry). Tried getting a screwdriver underneath the bottom to try and leverage it back up, but didn’t work.

Kids finished with their showers tonight and the handle on our Delta Monitor faucet (no idea on model number as it came with the house when we bought it in 2015) was able to keep going round and round and round and round, as was the part on the very front to control the temp. Neither part was able to do this before kids took their showers. They swear they weren't goofing with it or anything of the like. I've tried just using my hands and body weight to push it back in and it won't budge. Any suggestions? I don't honestly know how I even got the water to turn off. It doesn't feel like it "catches" when you turn it.

I had done it before, but on a tshirt with more conventional sleeve placement, that let me cut close to the seams, while keeping the (I don't know the term for it) "the junction" where the side seam and the sleeve seem met. It's lasted a long while.

This tshirt was all fucked up from the start, looked awful on me, hence why it was thrown to the side until I decided to amputate its arms, in a way that fixed the shoulder issues

I’ve recently moved into this home and the stairs have some small gaps that I’d like to fill in and hopefully make them creak a little less when stepped on. The first picture is the stairs, and the other four is a single step going towards the stairs from another room that just feels like it was an afterthought with how it’s put in. Would caulk be an acceptable option for these? Should I put screws down from the tread into the risers of the stairs to reduce the creak? Trying to get a sanity check before I start throwing screws down and making a mess of things just in case

I’ve been searching Google for the best way to get this look with glow in the dark specks and I’m stumped on what to use. I know I can replicate the rainbow look with holographic glitter flakes, but I would also like to add a clear coat that has specks like this in it that glow in the dark. Problem is, most of what I’m seeing recommended are pigments that would turn the entire thing glow in the dark, but I really just want SOME of it to glow and stand out in dots the way the rainbow ones do in the picture above.

I did think of adding a clear coat with glow in the dark glitter, but I’m having a hard time finding anything that I can mix in for the scattered look that I won’t be able to see during the day. I’m making a garden trellis that I’d like to paint black with the rainbow, but have it glow some at night. Like the sky :)

Hello everyone, I work in a dispatch center , I was tasked with making a flowchart for a new process we have involving one of our ambulance services . Be never made one before, does anyone have a good website to use for it ? I tried miro and the chart came out well , but it’s to big so when you zoom in it gets all distorted. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I have a 4.7lb (2.1kg) projector with a wall mount that's probably a pound or so? It's pretty light but I'm not a great judge of weight. So a total of maybe 6-7 lbs on the wall.

I had this setup on a wood stud through drywall at my last house but I have since moved and want to use the same mount. Unfortunately (for this particular project), my new wall is 70s wood paneling and the stud is nowhere near where I want the projector mounted.

I don't think mounting this without the stud is a good idea. Would it be possible to screw a piece of lumber horizontally across two studs and then mount the projector on the lumber? I included a sketch of what I am trying to say. Sorry that it's so wiggly--I have trouble holding a stylus due to a disability)

Side note, don't judge my blue "aperture tape" on the photo of the projector lol the distance I have the projector is slightly off from what settings I can work with to change the screen size (the settings only go so far) so this is my quick fix for some slight bleed-over.

I have a balcony with IKEA RUNNEN acacia deck tiles, and after a few years the finish has started to wear off. As you can see in the photo, some areas have faded and the lighter wood is showing through.
I’m wondering what the best way is to restore them as close as possible to their original IKEA color.

Has anyone successfully restored these before?

A few questions:

Should I lightly sand them first?

Is it better to use wood oil, stain, or something else?
Does anyone know which product or color matches
the original RUNNEN acacia finish the best?

Any products you would recommend (or avoid)?

I’d really like to keep these instead of replacing them if possible.
