I know this has probably been asked a million times, but I’m going to ask it myself. I currently live in Phoenix, AZ and I am finally at my breaking point with the excessive heat. I have family living in Eugene, OR so considering moving closer to them. My questions are:
- how is the city life in Portland? I like having the option to do things like bars, concerts, shopping.
- how is it being single there? I am 31F
- has there been improvement since COVID with the rougher areas? That’s the last time I have visited. I mean I’m not that worried about homelessness and such as I have lived a street up from the Tenderloin in SF and Harlem in NYC. Is it better or worse than those areas?
- how is the job market looking? I currently own a dog grooming salon here and would plan to open one there if moving.

I would really love to move there one day, particularly to Longyearbyen, so I would really love to hear about it. If you're from Barentsburg I would also be very interested to hear how life's there, as I know its a soviet/russian village and therefore it must be very diferent from Longyearbyen

I'm originally from Ireland (big island) and I've been living in Malta (tiny island) for a while. I went to Greece last week and really loved it (well, the islands, wasn't that fussed on Thessaloniki). I was wondering what it's like to live on Lesvos?

I'm asking because though I enjoy the warm weather (and mild winters), I'm interested in finding somewhere a little greener. My partner is also an avid birder.

Specifically?
- mail service and deliveries
- internet/services
- cultural acceptance (I'd be starting a business and hiring a couple of people)
- bureaucracy (I've just started learning Greek)

I currently live in the US but have lived in the south of Spain in Andalucía but would like to know how the other side of the country is!

I heard that they are a lot worse than the ones in the southern US, and those are already pretty bad. How is day-to-day life different for a person living in the state vs a person living in a reservation? Do they get roughly the same utilities as people outside the reservation? How different are their schools, roads, hospitals, etc.? What kinda jobs they work? Are the population of a reservation significantly poorer than people living in state? If so, why? (Aside from the obvious historic reasons) And most importantly, how are they compared to the bigger reservations in the south? etc.

Looking to move in about 5-7 years. Somewhere south of Florence and North of Crittenden. Would like to find a place quiet, but not far from civilization. We enjoy bowling, historic sites, outdoor activities, and camping.

It’s probably pretty unlikely someone who lives in Qırmızı Qəsəbə will answer, but if you’re Azeri have you ever been there?

I'm not American, and I recently learned that Hawaii has a very different demographic makeup than most of the US. It made me wonder how life is different here.

If you're Asian and live (or have lived) in Hawaii, what has your experience been like? Does it feel different from other parts of the US?

🎯 Why I'm asking: Moving from Philadelphia suburbs, but originally from the South/Midwest.

👤 About me: late 20s couple (wife and myself) with a small dog and two cats. Moving from just outside of Philadelphia, where we've spent the last 6 years. Only city experience was in St Louis for 12 months and Philadelphia for 10 months during COVID (so it hardly counts).

🔍 What I specifically want to know: I've read that this part of midtown is "dead" and quite corporate. Mainly looking for insight on why that's not true. Any day-to-day tips are helpful :)

On instagram it looks stunning, but how is it really? I'm mainly interested financially. How is the cost of life looking? Also how did tourists and imigrants influence it compared to other Europe regions?

How's it living in northeast Oklahoma, north of Tulsa? There may be an opportunity but I'm not sure about the location.
