Bi-Weekly Self-Promo thread! Please post and flourish(BUT PLEASE read the rules before posting).

# This is the Bi-Weekly self promotion thread.

**It has become clear that there are a lot of herbal small businesses and people in our community for whom their herbal passion is also a business. While Herbal business is not the focus of this sub it is undeniable that herbal business is a part of the herbal community and supporting the herbal community IS what this sub is for.**

To that end, we intend, to start making weekly self promotion threads; where any and all self-promo can take place(with some rules).

**1. No posting self promo outside of the Self-promo-threads**(except by explicit cooperation of the mods, if your an author or publisher or non-for-prophet please reach out to us directly using mod-mail)

**2. NO selling anything that is illegal federally,** or that is illegal in California Illinois or New York or the city of Chicago or that can not be legally sent through the mail.

**3. NO ASKING USERS TO DM YOU!** You may ask users to comment under your post to request for YOU to DM-THEM and you may include links to off-site storefronts but if we see a post soliciting users to PM-you the post will be removed(this is an accountability and user safety rule)

**3a.** this isn't a strict rule, but we would prefer if off sight links lead to a storefront and not directly to a product page. This does not mean that your post can't advertise or show pictures of a particular product or products, however making the attached link lead to your shops front page instead of a specific product page helps users confirm legitimacy safety and overall vibe of vendors. This isn't a rule now but might become a rule if we start getting user complains that we think could be decreased if this became a rule. In the mean time consider it a best practice for this sub.

**And that's it! Have fun Be productive and may the great river of acquisition be quick & calm and flow ever toward profit!**

Books Anyone making medicine from garden herbs before the season ends?

Upvotes

My calendula has been going strong all summer and I finally sat down this weekend to make a proper infused oil with the last of the big blooms. Olive oil, dried flowers, slow and low in a water bath. It's the simplest thing but I always forget how satisfying it is to have a finished jar sitting on the shelf.

I also threw together a small batch of lemon balm tincture because the plant basically took over one of my beds and I figured I should do something useful with it before the first frost hits and it all dies back.

What I'm curious about is whether people harvest and process everything at once near season end or work through things gradually as they peak. I tend to scramble at the end and feel like I missed windows earlier in the year.

Also wondering if anyone here has worked with wood betony. I planted some this spring mostly for the garden aesthetics but now I'm reading it has a decent history of use and I want to know if there's a preparation people actually reach for, or if it's more of a growitandappreciateit plant.

Question Aquaphor for salves?

Hi!

I am fairly new to herbalism in general, and haven’t gotten into making salves just yet so I’ll take all advice if anyone has any. My question is; is the Aquaphor healing ointment good to use as a base for infused salves?

If yes, can it be used on its own in a salve or should I add something else?

If not, what is better to use?

Thanks! :)

"What is a traditional bush medicine or remedy your grandparents swore by that you still use today?"

Bob Marley once said “Herb is the healing of the nation.” The practice of using plants as medicine is an ancient one, truly fundamental to the development of human civilization. And according to the World Health Organization, (WHO) estimates that roughly ≥80% of the global population relies on traditional medicine — including herbal remedies — for some aspect of their primary healthcare needs. This widespread reliance highlights how deeply ingrained plant-based healing remains across the world, especially in developing nations where conventional pharmaceuticals are less accessible. Botanical practices are deeply rooted in oral tradition, with generations of families cultivating backyard gardens and foraging for wild remedies.

Discussion Blue Lotus(?): My experience so far

I purchased what was advertised as Nymphaea Caerulea Blue Lotus recently and have tried it three times in two different ways, so I figured I'd share my experience.

The way I have felt the most present effects has been through chewing and not tea. Chewing resulted in a pronounced, although not necessarily powerful, sedative quality that took about 30-45 minutes to begin. I noticed a slight pressure on my temples at the outset. At about one hour in, I began to notice a sense of calm and an urge to sleep that was certainly not overpowering. I have not experienced a euphoric sense, although I definitely have noticed that while under the effects, I'm much calmer, and I understand why people mix this into alcohol. My head feels noticeably heavier than it ordinarily would, and my blood pressure drops. I have brewed it into tea only once, it tasted very pleasant, and the effects took about an hour to kick in and were much more diminished.

I'm uncertain if I actually got blue lotus. I purchased it from a local herbalist in my state, and the company is Anima Mundi. They say it is Nymphaea caerulea, but I understand that this is a very fakeable product, so I do not know for certain if this is real or not. If anyone has any experience with these vendors or blue lotus, I'd love to hear what y'all have to say. Thanks!

How Koff Honey Is Better Than Koff Kare Syrup?

If you're wondering how a honey-based cough remedy compares with a syrup, the main distinction is in its composition. In this case, BeeCause offers a natural product, which is made from a mixture of honey and herbal ingredients, not from a usual syrup formula.

Unlike many traditional cough syrups that are only intended for symptom relief, the proposed honey mixture includes ingredients that have been used in traditional medicine for a long time. This product will help coat the throat naturally, and it has a good taste.

What Is Koff Kare honey?

BeeCause is an herbal honey blend crafted with four simple ingredients:

  • Raw Honey
  • Turmeric
  • Ginger
  • Long Pepper (Pippali)

These ingredients have been valued for generations in traditional wellness systems for supporting throat comfort and overall respiratory wellness. The blend is designed for people looking for a natural alternative made with recognizable ingredients.

Why Many People Prefer Honey Over Koff Kare Syrup

Most people would like a honey based solution due to the combination of soothing ingredients with natural components.

Some reasons include:

  • Natural coating for the throat that comforts it.
  • A great taste that is easily consumable.
  • Natural ingredients used which are common in wellness solutions.
  • The product contains no artificial flavorings or colors (depending on your formula).
  • It can also be taken in your wellness routine daily.

Instead of merely providing cover for the pain, the ingredients soothe you while being beneficial to your health.

Ingredients That Make the Difference

Each spoonful is created using carefully selected ingredients.

Raw Honey

Unprocessed raw honey brings a natural silky texture that will help your throat get coated with the substance. Honey is well-known for its natural antioxidants content and soothing properties.

Turmeric

Turmeric consists of curcumin, which is a natural antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. Traditionally, it was used for immune boosting and overall well-being.

Ginger

Ginger is known since ancient times as an ingredient in various remedies. It is appreciated for its warming properties and can be helpful for alleviating throat irritation.

Long Pepper (Pippali)

Long pepper is an esteemed herb according to the Ayurvedic approach. Traditionally, it has been used for respiratory well-being and often found in herbs mixed with honey and spices.

Benefits of Ginger, Long Pepper and Turmeric with Honey

When all four of these ingredients are blended together, they go well with each other.

Some possible wellness attributes are:

  • Naturally relieves throat pain.
  • Supports the wellness of the immune system on a day-to-day basis.
  • Serves as an antioxidant.
  • Supports respiratory wellness.
  • Includes natural goodness of herbs in each serving.

These wellness attributes are based on the traditional usage of each ingredient separately. They should not be seen as a replacement to any form of medical therapy.

Why Choose BeeCause?

If all of the above ingredients are combined, then they complement each other.

This blend is created with care by:

  • Quality raw honey
  • Tried-and-true herbs
  • Pure choice of ingredients
  • Balance of flavor
  • High-quality production

The idea behind this is to make natural-inspired products with quality and authenticity.

Koff Honey vs. Koff Kare Syrup

The choice between honey-based medication and syrup will depend on the individual's personal preference and his/her health status. Many people like honey-based medications due to their combination of natural sweetener and traditional herbs.

The advantages of BeeCause's honey blend compared with Koff kare syrup include:

  • The presence of a natural honey base instead of a syrup-based composition.
  • Four traditional ingredients included in one blend.
  • A good flavor loved by many.
  • Ingredients that are simple to identify.
  • Versatility as it can be consumed either without dilution or with warm water.

Who Can Use It?

This herbal honey mix can be used by adults who want an alternative way of wellness to ease their sore throat. However, always read the product guidelines and seek advice from your doctor before taking this product if you are pregnant, lactating, or have any other health condition. Infants younger than one-year-old cannot be given honey.

Frequently Asked Question

Is BeeCause Koff honey Better Than Koff Kare Syrup?

BeeCause Koff honey provides a natural alternative for those seeking a remedy that is based on raw honey and natural herbs. Rather than using a regular Koff syrup formula, it uses raw honey along with turmeric, ginger, and long pepper.

Final Thoughts

Koff honey, from BeeCause, has been formulated in such a way that simplicity, quality, and tradition go hand in hand. The use of raw honey, turmeric, ginger, and long pepper makes it an easily accessible herbal honey syrup for individuals preferring natural ingredient-based products.

In case you have opted for a product containing natural ingredients that are traditionally considered effective, instead of the usual Koff syrup, then this is the perfect choice for you from BeeCause.

Question Herbs for nerve issues?

Hey everyone. I was wondering if there are any recommended herbs for sensitive nerves? (Nerves as in sciatic etc, not anxiety).

I have a REALLY sensitive nervous system and for context have autism and cptsd (which is actually in “remission” though I’m having a flare up). I’m also doing physical therapy and they do some work around my spine which set everything off and then my dumb ass added to it by working out this week 😔

I’m dealing with a lot of grief (3 deaths since April plus one life threatening event with long lasting consequence) and work stress which I’m backing off of or trying to.

All that to say is my nervous system is a wreck. And I feel nervy in my arms and down my left side. I’m going to the drs don’t worry but was wondering if there’s herbs to add to my diet or tea which will help me in the short term or even long term.

Thank you!

Favorite homegrown herbs for sleep?

Been growing valerian and passionflower this season and finally have enough dried material to work with. Made a simple tincture with the valerian root last fall but never stayed consistent with it long enough to notice much.

Curious what combinations people have actually kept using, not just tried once. Valerian on its own has that infamous smell situation and it makes it hard to reach for at night. Wondering if blending it with something helps mask that, or if people just accept it.

Passionflower is the one I'm more drawn to honestly. The plant itself is wild to grow and the aerial parts smell completely different from valerian. Planning to do a glycerite with it since I want something without alcohol for nighttime use.

Also open to other herbs worth adding to the garden with sleep in mind. Skullcap keeps coming up when I read about this and I can never find it locally, so I'm thinking about starting it from seed next year. Anyone grown it from seed with decent results, or is it finicky about getting established?

Question Ways to ingest wormwood

What's your preferred method of ingesting wormwood? Ordered some online, gonna pick it up soonish, maybe try it in 2-3 weeks. I've been doing other herbs a lot lately so I have to take a break before trying it.

I heard some people smoke it, for ritualistic purposes. I don't mind the idea, I've smoked unfiltered tobacco and cannabis and they were quite useful. But I've also eaten different herbs and plants raw, as a tea etc. Different methods seem to grant different results.

Question I randomly bought Maca root powder and now idk what to do

Hey, so the title says it all.
I bought it in some drugstore because it said to be helpful with stress management and energy levels but now that I've read some reviews idk if I want to take it because it sounds a bit like a drug or whatever and I'm not sure if I want to have a higher libido also some women had problems with their cycle and mood swings because of maca so idk anymore.
I don't really want to throw it away, so maybe some advice on how I can take it to not have any problems or whatever? I just want to feel a little bit more energetic and less stressed
