Does anyone know when the map is updated?
In New York, for example, there hasn't been an update for two years, and in many other places the map hasn't been updated for years, for example: Warsaw, Hong Kong, Mexico City.

So the situation is that it's stuck on the loading screen. I tried uninstalling and re-installing it, but it didn't work, it's still stuck.
Can you guys give me some options on how to fix this?

Alternatives for GE Pro
So I've been reading quite a bit about how people are upset about GE Pro being abandoned next year and Browser Earth having none of the functionality that many need as of yet.
I am wondering if there are any good alternatives though. GIS Earth, Marble and World Wind all fall short for my uses sadly. Mainly planing sunset and sunrise images like the one included here (visiting East Greenland later next month) to see Alpenglow and sunsets way into the future over the landscape projection in 3D. I know that TPE and Photo Pills exist and I use both for occasion but they have issues as well, like missing 3D in case of PP and lack of exploratory functions such as routplanning etc. So there is now way around GE Pro for me. Or did I miss anything that actually combines the option to plan for light and do digital location scouting as well as routing? I wouldn't know.
Somehow though I dont think that Google cares much about implementing sun, moon and milkyway or light projection into the browser variant anytime soon because only maybe a couple of thousand users like me exist that really need those on a daily basis. You can tell I ma really frustrated I guess. So yeah, any ideas?

How do I make the camera follow a path and how do I vary the speed?
It may be a bit late now, what with GE being wound up next year, but I was wondering: I can use the path tool to draw lines between two or more points and then use the tour thingy to follow that line, but I can't seem to vary the speed. It just flies away at ludicrous speed.
What I want to do is have a line or a track that follows a road through all its twists and turns, like I'm watching a car from above. How do I do that?

What On Earth Do I Do
With Google Earth Pro being deprecated next summer, our build team's ruler-tool workflow is at serious risk. We rely on Zack's Outlining Tool to OCR heading and distance data straight off Google Earth Pro's ruler window, feeding those points into our in-game commands for outlines, height maps, and textures.
Google Earth Web can't replace this workflow for two reasons: first, its ruler data is rendered as uncopyable canvas pixels with no accessible DOM text, so OCR or code inspection is impossible. Second, its ruler tool only registers points on the 2D ground plane, so dropping a point on a 3D object like a rooftop AC unit is unreliable unless you're looking straight down.
This threatens eight years of established workflow with no clear replacement in sight.

Save the 3D render of a place
Hello, there’s an old warehouse complex in my city being demolished. However, I do need the 3D view on Google Earth or Google Maps for a project (I’m planning to rebuild this area in Minecraft before it got demolished if you’re wondering) and I was wondering if there was a way to save it before it gets updated.
Thanks in advance ! 🙏

Can you save the basemap settings?
Whenever I load Google Earth (the web version not the desktop pro app) it is always on the same setting showing highways and a few other things. I set up a custom view, but if I close the tab and open it again, its back to the default view again!

Help with Google Earth
This shows sunrise around 5am. But sunrise on 8/9 in Morongo Valley is around 6am, at least according to every website I’ve looked at. I have the time set to Pacific Time, which is correct for the area. It must be user error, right? Sunrise is correct in other locations, but not in this area. Thoughts?

What is this place? 22°25'57"N 28°09'04"E
Wandering around Google Earth while watching a documentary about the Black Pyramid and saw this way out in the desert near Sudan. Looks like an agricultural area with crop circles. The only street level is inside a cafe. With no place name.

Google Earth Enterprise Client needs to use Microsoft Software Key Storage Provider
Message to Google, Inc. developers who work on the Google Earth Enterprise Client and Pro Client (maybe they read reddit?):
The Google Earth Enterprise Client v. 7.3.7.1155 is using the Microsoft Cryptographic Service Provider (CSP) entitled Microsoft Enhanced Cryptographic Provider v1.0.
Microsoft's legacy CSPs have been deprecated in favor of the newer Cryptography Next Generation (CNG) APIs. In the CNG framework, the equivalent modules are called Key Storage Providers (KSPs).
Enterprise networks are moving away from CSPs and moving to KSPs, because Microsoft is no longer supporting CSPs. The latest cryptographic algorithms are only being added to KSPs.
The Google Earth Enterprise Client and Pro Client needs to the updated to use the Microsoft Software Key Storage Provider so it will work in modern Enterprise networked environments. As Enterprise environments move away from populating the user's Microsoft Keystores with CSPs, it effectively blocks PKI-based user authentication of the GE EC to the Google Earth Server, because the client cannot retrieve the user's PKI keys from the Microsoft keystore.
