With the hype of avid fans of older titles forever trapped on older consoles beginning to work on their own Decomp/Recomp projects to bring them to PC, I can't help but wonder if GOG wouldn't be interested in bringing these titles to their storefront as GOG-exclusive ports through the same methods?

Matter of fact, they could even *remaster* some of these titles while they're at it, since the need for a complete source code that has factually hindered remasters in the past (SH HD Collection) is basically unnecessary now, since the decomp gets them everything from the game as it presented itself on a physical disc!

I'd personally love it if GOG went beyond the common barrier they encounter of needing a preexisting PC port to rerelease and instead work in-house to make wholly new PC ports to titles that never saw them back in their prime!

Nothing else even comes close.

Has GOG ever commented on it? I missed my chance to buy it despite the fact that it was in my cart back when it was delisted.

It's now been years and seems like it's still not back on the store. I could buy it on Steam, but I'm a GOG user first and foremost, I'd rather own my games DRM free and all that.

So has there been any hint on GOG's side about it, or nothing?

Just installed the latest GOG Galaxy 2.0 launcher update, which brings 64-bit support.

But when will the launcher get native ARM64 for Windows 11 ARM/Snapdragon laptops?

I had just bought Ys Chronicles on GOG (I have Windows 11), and I've kept having this same issue in Ys 1 where if I interact with the nurse NPC at the very beginning, it just goes to a black screen that doesnt allow me to see the conversation text, and if I try and Ctrl + Alt + Delete, the screen shows a frozen version of the text that I cant interact with. I've tried the solutions that people have given in the steam release, but they still havent worked for me. I've been hoping that if anyone still has this game on GOG (and on Windows 11) if they know what worked for them.

Just wondering if I'm the only one experiencing issues with GOG either being laggy or lowering refresh rate? I have a 180hz display and whenever I click on GOG and bring it into focus, my mouse becomes laggy or gets stuck at 60hz. Not sure which one it is... But it's annoying and only started happening after the latest update.

Edit: The sidebar where the store and installed games are listed to the left still runs fine.

I bought two games in the past week and have been playing them for a while, recently started having issues with achievements, I am using heroic games launcher, so I thought the problem might be because of that, but it seems it looks like it is because of GOG.

The games I own is not showing up on my profile, but they do in my order history.

The other issue is I have been playing Mad Max and some achievements are registered through my account, but some are not. I thought it was related to Heroic Games Launcher, but this might be because of this issue to.

I'm new here and have been collecting and currently downloading all my games. I'm wondering about those who put their games on disc.

I've seen a video about how to make an autorun install disc of gog on windows. But I haven't seen any guide for linux. Is their anything like that or you just put the install files without any automatic script?

I am posting this to share my experience with GOG, and maybe as a community we can make our voice heard.

The ideology behind the platform is the main reason, I started using this platform. But the lack of support for Linux and not communicating with the customers about that is pretty embarrassing. I am talking about developing a native version for Linux. GOG has announced this several times and they reject to share updates.

I have come across some issues like buying games and the games that I bought are not registered to my account, which is a very simple feature that a platform has to have but okay. I contacted the support about this and they responded to me saying it is fixed, I checked my account today and it hasn't right now I have only one game instead of two. And I can't reach the ticket I opened on the website, so I can't update the ticket, so I responded back to the email. The website for tickets has a very badly designed user interface and missing essential features such as accessing your tickets that are opened before.

Some essential titles are missing, for example Dwarf Fortress, Mewgenics, Ultra Kill, like these are the games that developed by individuals that are very supportive for owning your games. I don't see any reason for GOG to not contact them to bring their games to their platform. There are other games that are drm free on Steam and hasn't reached to GOG yet, which is very absurd.

Anyway, I am sharing this because I really want GOG to succeed at least to some degree, but without the lack of support for these stuff that I mentioned, it doesn't seem like it is going to happen soon. I hope they will be contacting and updating their audience more, and improve their product.

I was trying to verify my Cyberpunk 2077 and it has been stuck for 5 min. How do we know if it's working or not??

Did the game get any kind of big update on July 16th? Because tripling the price of a nearly 30-year-old game for no reason is laughable. Price history here.

Sad thing is, it's even more expensive on Steam where it's $35 USD for both and more shoddy.

Do you think like a dragon ishin will ever come to gog cause yakuza like a dragon did and that was the most modern game out of the series so what do you think is it a possibility or had everyone lost hope for that game

I have GOG Galaxy 2.1.6.29 beta and I'm trying to run its built-in updater inside a Windows 11 CrossOver bottle (it tells me 2.1.6 is available, released on 13 July), on the latest Crossover preview (17 July) on macOS 27 beta.

Every time it seems to complete but ends with an error ("update problem") and tells me to download the latest Galaxy directly instead.

If I use the "Install app into bottle" facility of CrossOver, it downloads and runs the installer but it exits immediately because it says the same version is already installed.

I've had this issue for months and can't remember how I solved it previously, but I'm pretty much stuck. I'm not sure how to uninstall GOG manually in CrossOver, and I don't want to create a new bottle each time I need to update.

Any ideas ?

After hearing the news of Sony stopping physical releases, the small ember of an idea in the back of my mind to make physical cases and custom disks grew into actually wanting to do it. I bought a printer with disk printing support and a bunch of blank disks and cases. With the help of GIMP and some (very frequent) searching for instructions on basic GIMP functions i finally managed to make my first custom disk for Hotline Miami.

I prefer the more plain look on the back of the case, but I'm also very limited in my skills. For improved longevity I also used a software called dvdisaster to use any free space left on the disk as parity data so that if the disk gets damaged or old it would be possible to recover any corrupted data.

I tried making the files as templates first so i could use them in the future. If anyone's interested i could clean them up and share the xcf files for people to get a head start in making their own jewel cases.

I noticed that the offline installer for Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Definitive Edition in GOG Galaxy is missing. It only shows the Sir Lora DLC. On the website eveything is there, however (see slide 2) Is that a bug or is the one part offline installer in GOG Galaxy simply not working for some games? The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition has a 80GB offline installer and it shows up just fine.

Edit: The problem can be fixed by switching the language of the installer to English in the drop-down menu.

Let me start by saying that I love GOG in almost every aspect, from how much they care about game preservation, offering DRM-free content, fighting for user ownership, and being against censorship. The store itself is overall well curated and offers frequent games on sale.

However, the store is missing out on fresh day 1 releases and relies on Patron to keep GOG alive.

My solution to improve the state of GOG in terms of them gaining more money and more new games on release date is to allow publishers to add a lightweight DRM solution (like Steam DRM) BUT only for the first year of the game release; after the 1 year, the DRM will be removed, and everyone who previously purchased the game will get the DRM-free version. You basically always buy a DRM-free version in the end.

This method is similar to how some publishers sell their games on Steam; they remove parts of DRM over time, and it works as a selling model. However, I do believe that this method could work even better on GOG because you will receive a DRM-free version after 1 year of release, while Steam still has DRM years after release.

Realistically speaking, DRM is nonsense, but publishers are scared of releasing a game on day 1 without DRM. There are some exceptions, but most publishers are scared. Publishers don't understand that DRM is pointless; piracy has no effect on overall sales either because today anything can be cracked. It's really just that publishers are being stupid, but that's how it is, sadly.

So offering day 1 releases on GOG with a very lightweight DRM (which doesn't break any Linux compatibility, etc.) for the first year only could potentially lead to more publishers putting their games on GOG on release date. I hope GOG grows, and users get more games to play with a guaranteed promise to get the DRM-free version after 1 year.

Is there a way to navigate GOG using an embedded controller on an Ally similar to Steam Big Picture Mode, Xbox App, and Playnite Fullscreen Mode? Is it a feature that is known to be coming in the future?
