My first brand new Gibson Les Paul, took me 30+ years to muster up the nerve to drop this kind of money on a guitar, and I couldn't be happier with it.

Picked this up last week. Part ex'd my Epipy SG and wish I'd done so sooner. 2022 model.

okay so I got this 1994 67’ reissue flying V about a year ago and it came with its headstock glued. fast forward to today, where I noticed it popping up just a teeny tiny bit. I havent noticed it do this but I’m not sure if it’s been like this since I got it. it’s not going out of tune because of it; but I would just like to get people’s opinions on if you think it’s gonna break again or not. the first pics are of it now, and the last one is when I got it. unfortunately I don’t have a side profile of it when I got the guitar first. Hi everyone, I have a Gibson Les Paul and I’m trying to decide on a bag/case for flying. I have other luggage too, so I prefer something that can work as carry-on when possible, but must be safe for checked baggage when needed. I’m looking at:

• Mono Vertigo Electric • Reunion Blues Aero E1 Or should I just go for a hard case like Gator GTSA?

Main concerns: • Protection for checked baggage (airlines can be rough) • Chance of carry-on success • Fit for Les Paul (headstock clearance) • Real experiences with flying (domestic or international)

Budget is around $200-300. Any real user experiences or recommendations? Especially from people who fly regularly with LP. Thanks!

Now I want it! It's a 2014 model in Fireburst I think. I was hoping to find an Explorer but saw this and felt that I should play it. I swear it weighed 5 lbs. I'm used to guitars that weigh almost 9 lbs. Now I have never actually desired a SG, and have not really cared to own a Gibson since I was in my early 20s (now 34). But after playing this one, I see why they are so special.

It played phenomenally. Super low action, and everything is easy to reach even when playing very spaced out chords. I played it through an Orange Rocker 15, and whatever pickups are in this are amazing. I can't tell if they are stock. They looked like brushed metal, but maybe it was just wear. Both clean and dirty, the tones were incredible. For $1400 with the hard case it's a great deal. I can't drop that money right now but if somehow no one buys it for a few months I might be the one.

I am looking into purchasing a Gibson acoustic. My first okay acoustic was an Epiphone Hummingbird and while I am primarily a Breedlove player (both old and new), I want to own a real American Gibson.

That being said - I have my eyes on a J-45 Faded and Hummingbird Rosewood Studio. Why these two? The J-45 is a classic obviously, but I’ve never played a Standard that I’ve loved and am really drawn to the satin feel of the Faded. Now I usually like rosewood guitars more, but the rosewood 45 just doesn’t sound right to me. The Bird on the other hand, I absolutely love the rosewood model. Again, the satin feel gets me and the rosewood seems to sing to me more than a mahogany Bird.

Who owns either of these, and can you share your experiences with them and the sounds you think they excel in the most? TIA!

Hello! I’ve got an SG ‘90 Double (string through, thank god). Does anyone have any bright ideas for pickups replacements? I find them anemic.

I could do a hot rails in neck,,, and I guess any humbucker in the neck. Would love to hear your ideas!

While we’re here… adding a bigsby would be weird with the string through right? Like, looks wise. Tryna balance that weight!

New SS bourbon burst. I know some will say more less than paul but I actually love the design of this guitar. There’s a neck cut away for easier access to higher up on the neck, push/pull knobs for coil splitting and phasing , ebony fretboard with neck binding and weight relief but still coming in at a tick under 9 lbs.

I can’t wait to get to know this thing!

It's got an ABR-1 straight to the top, vintage small post tuners and a custom shop case.. is this some kind of custom sho limited run?

So I made a post a week or so ago about purchasing a Gibson and I found two that I wanted to try out. I ended up ordering both from guitar center. One is a 2025 LP Studio Session (Blue) and the other is a 2009 LP Studio Deluxe (Silverburst). One of them has to go back though and I plan to shoot them both out side by side to see which I like better.

I’ve played both and they’re both great playing. The 2009 is a lot more beat up than the listing was leading on, many dings and chips and scrapes for a “great” condition guitar and for the price in my opinion. The 2025 is pretty much mint.

What other things to consider other than playability and sound? Which would you guys consider over the other?

Grabbed this Beauty for $650 with gibson hardcase, Seymour Duncan Alnico 2 Slash pickups, and the guy threw in the stock pickups too. How did I do?
Also, pickguard ON or OFF?

I have a Fender Am Pro ii Strat in SSS configuration and I like it for clean sounds but lately my taste has changed and I'm craving for a Les Paul for all kinds of rock sounds (alternative/classic/hard rock). I've tried and listened to several Les Pauls from different brands and none of them clicked with me. I don't have the budget for a Custom Shop but I can go up to Standart if I really decide on it with a little bit of saving money. I don't wanna buy any of them second handed.

I know it's all preference and everyone has different tastes but I just wanna be satisfied and don't wanna get second thoughts after a while. I need honest comments from people that actually went through my train of thought.

I have thought of the new LP Studio's which is instantly available to me financially at the moment but to be honest, when I think of a Gibson Les Paul with my eyes closed, I picture Les Paul Standart aesthetics and can't help not to. Studio's or Studio Sessions on paper has some modern features that sounds fun at the beginning (thinner neck, weight relief, tonal options etc.) I tell myself: "don't you just want the classic Les Paul sound?" I'm really choking here, maybe this post will make things worse but I just wanna get out of my head and decide finally. I want to play at home and on gig's as well. It's gonna be my main guitar for hard rock sounds.

Pretty self explanatory. I'm not too big on teles or strats but I like the sound. Do you think LP Juniors or Specials would do the job?
